I officially declare Star Trek Continues.... to be canon from hence forth.
It always was canon! It is also THE Star Trek that we grew to know and love since the 1960s! :-)
Chills. When both Scottys said "Captain, get in the chamber!" Scott is so much like his father, and hearing both delivering the same line perfectly in sync. Simply amazing!
I agree! James would be so proud of Chris for his accurate portrayal of Scotty! Like father, like son! Well played!
The power of DNA! They did the same thing in their series finale with the female Romulan Commander, played by the daughter of the original actress. Virtually identical there too!
@@billmcclure2171 I was honestly confused, I though it somehow was the same woman for a minute. Their resemblance is uncanny.
I saw this recently and this is actually cannon more than just a love letter to the original series. They were back tracking stories that were left open.., what happened to Apollo, the mirror universe, even the Esper mutants from the second pilot which book ended the whole series and even made the transition from TOS to the motion picture. We finally got closure on a beloved classic. Very well done. This is why people are watching more UA-cam than TV show now. The fans are doing a much better job of it and understand the fandom because they are the fandom.
I have just been watching this show online. It's awesome. Vic and other casts did an awesome job...better than Hollywood could ever do for this franchise.
Star Trek Continues was THE best representation of TOS. It's utterly astounding the actors they were able to get to appear in every episode. From the regular cast to guest stars... I was blown away at the quality of the production. The episode with 'Apollo' you suddenly realize he is the original actor who portrayed the same character a half century ago! I simply could not believe it when they actually got John DeLancey of all people to appear in another episode. Lou Ferrigno was fantastic as well. Chris Doohan, Grant Imahara... This was the best ever reproduction!
No amount of accolades will ever truly give this labor of love its just due. Vic M. and Co. do a MASTERFUL job at carrying TOS forward BOLDLY GOING WHERE NO ONE HAS GONE BEFORE. These iconic characters, brought to life by such skilled actors could (in my heart) never be duplicated. I was wrong. STC slides in quite nicely next to TOS as a beautiful compliment and augmentation of Gene's original conception. If these folks never did another thing in their lives they could and SHOULD be extremely proud of the joy they continue to bring to fans of this one of a kind and once in lifetime (or twice) show.
rf396 just saw the last episode a few days ago and why couldn't CBS pick up STC and give it to the fans?!
It really was canon to me at least, and a few episodes of Crawley's Phase 2 as well.
Well said. I found this by accident on UA-cam. I watched them all and loved them all and I keep watching them. Everything was so well done. CBS should have given Vic M. the reigns to Discovery, Picard and to continue STC I can only imagine what he could’ve done with it.👍🏾✌🏾💯
@@ciscoduncan1490 CBS, if it had ANY brains at all could've handed Vic HALF the Discovery budget, made MORE STC and we ALL could've been happy! You have to LOVE when Chris Doohan does his dad's line side by its so close it just sounds like an echo. LOVE that.
Not to mention Amy Rydell's performance as the Romulan Commander in STC "To Boldly Go". She reprised her mother's role BEAUTIFULLY. Not to mention she's as gorgeous as her mother was!
Yes, I was really amazed when I saw Amy Rydell. I thought, could that be the Romulan commander (actress)? No of course not, it was 50 years ago, not possible. The daughter looks exactly like her mother. A great touch to get her, and a really great production overall. Imagine what this great cast and producers could have done with Star Trek Continues on a major network like CBS (with some good writers and guest stars)?! I wish the majors would be open to this sort of quality 'reproduction' of classic shows (not the updated junk we're seeing with a lot of the old classics).
I recently stumbled upon this new Star Trek and watched this episode. I'm old school Star Trek. I never warmed up to any of the following series. This however, was absolutely outstanding. I went from interested to riveted within a few minutes.
Don't know what I was doing when STC was first available and am discovering it for the first time only now. Have just watched the first of eleven episodes. All I can say is...WOW! It literally brought tears to my eyes. Its as if the original series is actually in production again and I'm seeing
first run episodes I had missed 50 years ago. And to think this was recreated by a wonderful group of folks who did this out of the love they have for the original series. I mean everything ... The music, the sets, the lighting, the characters... everything recreated exactly as it was all those years ago! I am in absolute awe of this project and thank all who made it possible... By donating their talents, time, and money. The only thing that saddens me is Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry didn't live long enough to see this great labor of love.
Star Trek Continues was absolutely amazing, the sets, the writing, the direction, the actors and the acting was perfect. It broke my heart when it ended, but it definitely went out on a glorious note. I personally could care less what the powers that be say, this is canon.
Roddenberry’s son said his dad would consider it canon. Therefore it IS canon
I stumbled across Star Trek Continues a couple of days ago. I have been a Star Trek fan since I was 8 years old, over 40 years now. I have a particular fondness for the original series. I watched the episode featured above expecting an amateur production with second rate acting. Well, I'm pleased to say I was totally wrong. The story was gripping and the acting was definitely first rate. No one could ever replace Nimoy and Shatner, but this was as near as we will ever get. The only way it could have been better was if it was made in the sixties with the original cast. Well done to everyone involved. I couldn't post this on the actual video as comments are disabled
I always looked forward to the guest actors too. I might binge STC again. :)
LOVE IT!!!! That last close up of Vic and Mr. Shatner is down right spooky. STC great job. Vic your a genius.
Just binged watched the whole series!!! Please VIC give us more
The actor portraying Capt. Kirk in STC, bears an uncanny physical resemblence to William Shatner. Physic, mannerisms, speech.
Now that Chris Pine is out as Kirk I hope they could convince Vic Mignogna to play the role(with a William Shatner Cameo)
Joe Griego they have Hollywood Star Trek Movies Christopher Pine and Zackary Quito but these actors are so much better
VIC does Shatner true justice! Without a doubt the best. James Cawley is good and his team is next best fan trek. But VIC you and your team should be paid for your talents and hard work you all put in. I love you guys.
Now that Chris Pine is out as Kirk I hope they could convince Vic Mignogna to play the role(with a William Shatner Cameo)
@@jackrusio4918 Couldn't agree more with you! Vic has the look, mannerisms and the IT factor to play Kirk!
Scotty s son and the captains womans daughter..........brilliant!! Kudos Vic.
Best tribute in the world - especially when both Doohans speak at the same time.
STC was/is AWESOME!!
Todd Haberkorn is the absolute best "Spock" save for Nimoy himself. Same for Vic! Both those Guys really captured those characters and made them their own!!
They're doing a great job with this series! I've watched that episode twice already!
Scott Prazak got a silly Q. why cant I watch new episode. The white iris. on youtube ? should be available ?
Weird. I actually caught it on UA-cam a few days ago. Any number of reasons why they pulled it. Site promotion, copying issues, who knows?
Scott Prazak I watched twice. The second time back to back with Mirror mirror.
I'm in love w/ Star Trek Continues and I'm really sad to see it end. As far as I'm concerned, Vic Mignogna is Captain Kirk reincarnated. He has done Shatner and the Star Trek legacy proud. LLAP.
I agree w/ that, w/ one proviso....if CBS ever did wish to bring Vic and company into a paid arrangement, I think they should just pay Vic and his people, but leave them alone to have all the creative control and do it THEIR WAY! Because you know some higher-up corporate suit would want to do it his way and ruin the whole thing. They wouldn't have the passion or integrity Vic has.
Now that Chris Pine is out as Kirk I hope they could convince Vic Mignogna to play the role(with a William Shatner Cameo)
HardyGirl66 JJAbrams Director with actors like Christopher pine as Kirk and Zachary Quito as spock I like Vic Mignogna better as kirk plus why did they cancelled Startrek 4 this fan film should be made mainstream does Paramount know about this
Gotta admit, they have done a excellent job sticking to what the core of ST is. The script, scenery, and the passion. Well done!
#WINNING
This is astonishing! I never realized until I saw this comparison how much Vic Mignogna had become Kirk.
Wow, I thought that episode was a great, but seeing that proves it. What a great show, such a shame that Paramount and CBS have created an environment where it will never happen again.
Apparently it was another fan project that was making profit that caused Star Trek fan material to be more scrutinized. Shame, really. I enjoyed this series and I'm not even a big Star Trek fan, but damn, this crew knocked it out of the park and made me enjoy Star Trek again! (I grew up on TNG and always thought the original series was a tad silly, but the way this series did the satire/commentary, I can look back at the original now with new appreciation...that's super cool!)
6-stars production. We should welcome more of these bold endeavours
Although "Star Trek New Voyages" has arguably better CGI (OK, there's no doubt of it), I still prefer this fan made show, because it could literally be shown on the air back in 1967 and would not look out of place...and that's kind of the whole point of the show: They are _continuing_ the Star Trek show as if those voyages had actually gone on a five year mission.
Both fan shows are exceptionally well done, however.
I just discovered this incredible show! It is, without a doubt, the most amazing recreation of Gene Roddenberry's incredible vision! Absolutely love it!
Star Trek Continues is Brilliantly done. Well done
STC is an amazing accomplishment. Well done to all who were partakers of making it happen.
Wow, it's almost as if they were in...
... mirror universes
(Mind blown)
I've watched all the STC episodes over and over. Sad there are no more to come. Just look how many views there getting and still growing as word gets around.
All of the episodes of Star Trek Continues are awesome. But this one could certainly have been an actual episode of the original series. It was very well written in the style of the 1967 episode, the sets were almost indistinguishable, the effects were outstanding, the actors were believable in their roles, the plot was compelling, and best of all, I was thoroughly entertained. Bravo to all involved. And RIP to the actor who played Mr. Spock. He recently passed away.
01:03 Touching and quite moving to see both James Doohan and his son playing the same part, standing in the same position, wearing the same kind of costume, and saying the exact same line -- together. Really beautiful.
I'v just started watching this series. Man, I've got to tell you, this is inspired work. This isn't a lot of empty promises. They are giving us (though I've just seen trhree so far) labors of love. The first one with Apollo was almost heartbreakingly good. Mister Mignogna seems blessed with a real feeling for it being about the story and not the effects though these are quite good and match the TOS. I was sad to hear that "Sulu" had passed due to a freak aneurism so they've had challenges. It was great that they could get so many of the originals to drop in and do a part. And as stated by others, Scotty Lives through his son. The brogue is just fine lad!
This is in no way meant to detract at all from Vic Mignogna's portrayal of Kirk. I think he and the rest of the crew of Star Trek Continues did an absolutely outstanding job in the videos they put together, and I have enjoyed those shows every bit as much as I would have enjoyed seeing them done by the original cast. Well done, hands down, and I'm very sorry to see them end. Vic did a great job of portraying James T. Kirk. But, seeing this comparison clip brought something home to me. I think we don't realize just how fortunate we were to have William Shatner in Star Trek. His acting style has been jeered and laughed about at times, but if you watch this clip, his professionalism really is remarkable. The clips move almost exactly in the same time, yet Shatner is able to deliver his lines with pinpoint excellence and incredible pauses such that you can see, in the same time frame, complete departures from Mignogna's delivery. It really brought home to me just how good William Shatner really is. It even makes me consider if Star Trek owes its success, in large part, to Shatner's early professional portrayal of Captain Kirk. I think it may -- and no, I'm not being paid to write this. I'm just an interested fan who noticed something.
Man... In the first scene it took me a couple seconds to figure out who the original captain Kirk was! They chose great actors.
It is so utterly wrong that this was not allowed to continue.
I dunno. The guidelines would have been released while the last episode was in post-production so I'm thinking they'd already decided to end it just in case the Axanar case ended badly (which it did) for fan productions.
@Petrus Laredes
:
I'd hope that the excellent cast & crew of _Star Trek Continues_ would return for a web-movie, '79 _Motion-Picture_ -style. Man, I would even _pay_ money to see that if need be, oh yes! Piss on Jar-Jar Abrams "Trek" (that already ran itself into the ground after a mere three films), and shit on CBS' _STD_ ! _Star Trek Continues_ is REAL _Star Trek_ for today.
ua-cam.com/video/6lHgbbM9pu4/v-deo.html Hey, you shut up, you filthy Romulan! Capt. Sisko is right! _Star Trek Continues_ IS real _Star Trek_ , YES!
@@codeoptimizationware2803 Sadly, they won't. Not only was Vic Mignona told to cease and desist by CBS' lawyers, but he's fallen foul of the #MeToo hate machine as well.
@@petrus4 :
Uh, what is this "MeToo Hate Machine" supposed to be? Sounds like media-buzz to me. So what is it, I'd like to know...?
Also, shouldn't CBS fuck themselves? What about like Fair Use?
But in any case I sure know that lawyers or no, they can't enforce what _Star Trek_ actors & actresses can and can't do in their own independent acting jobs, right? Yes, that's right. CBS isn't God, nor governmental lawmakers either, don't ya know...? The sorry fucking loser hacks! Shouldn't they fuck themselves instead of thinking they should tell the whole damned world what the fuck to do?
P.S.: Are we, oh so dear reader, learning all about _why_ Gene Roddenberry hated CBS for life yet? No matter what, those clueless hacks will always be just _Lost in Space_ , which they wouldn't have had even that lowbrow crapola except because of Roddenberry. CBS is a dinosaur anyway, an ancient giant of a dying 20th century media-format, the Idiot Box.
@CBS: Fuck you, you sorry, lame _Lost in Space_ fucks! Your shit shows have always been less than second banana to about anything and everything Roddenberry ever produced. Die, you fucking dinosaurs, die! And take your olde obsolete idiot box format with you, lowlife piece of shit scum!
Только одно слово: БРАВО. Молодцы, постарались на славу. Star trek: Continues действительно можно смело назвать продолжателем традиций оригинального Star Trek. Такое сегодня мало где увидишь. И повторюсь: БРАВО.
The best Star Trek incarnation you're not watching.
Chris Doohan as Scotty is the cherry on top of this series.
I love this because it not only shows how admirable a job the STC crew does, but it shows what a strong actor Shatner was. Yeah, he gets a lot of flack, and maybe rightly so. But watch them side by side, and see how Shatner leans commandingly into the performance, while Mignogna keeps a certain cool distance. I have no lack of respect for VM, and I don't envy him the job he has to do in that role. But his Kirk is a different man than Shatner's - and perhaps that's for the best!
Shatner gave this scene just a tad bit more "ooomph" that is for sure. But Vic still did a great job too.
As much as I hate fanfic and fan films, occasionally you get one or two that get it right. I totally support these guys, what they do and their respect for the show. Well done!
When I first saw the STC version I was simply amazed at the extreme accuracy Shame on CBS for shutting these types of productions down.
This is my favorite Star Trek Continues episode. The fact that it takes place in the mirror universe makes it even better. Anything that is slightly off from the original cast can be attributed to the mirror universe. The casting for Marlena Moreau is dead on. The new actress can almost pass as her sister (daughter) in looks. I know it has been said many times by many people before but I am going to repeat it. The "look" of the sets and casts, the lighting, the camera angles matches the original series perfectly. The timing of the background music, selection of themes used and the line delivery of the actors are a perfect match. If this series was named Star Trek (another ship) with a different crew, it was be nearly impossible to tell that it wasn't made side by side with the original Trek series. Thumbs up 100% and thanks for quenching my thirst for more TOS Trek after all these years.
I wonder if these guys would do a remake of all the episodes of the Animated Series with the same plot and original voice over but re-shoot the scenes in live actions and add back in the original scores. One can dream.
Fascinating Both Spocks were totally close to being in sync
They got this so close to the original, it is moving to watch. I wish this cast and crew of Star Trek Continues (sets, music, everything) could do more shows someday. They are very, very good, and the shows just got better and better. With some interesting writing, who knows where this sort of close-remake show could go. The networks really need to look closely at the possibility of this type of very-close remake type show (ready made audience, characters, story lines, music, customes, etc). It really could become a new genre of television.
Watching STC I knew it was good, and was seriously impressed by not just the acting, but the wardrobe/sets/cinematography. But this is uncanny. It's crazy how accurate they got the characters. Spock may not look or sound like Nimoy, but his timing and expressions were fantastic. And Vic as Kirk? No words.
Its amazing how much Vic looks and acts / moves like Kirk. Brilliant job, and all done with respect to the original characters, stories, and especially us (the audience).
I recently watched all 11 episodes. This IS the 4th season of the original.😎
I just watched this episode of STC, and I must say, I can’t believe I’ve put off watching this series. The first 3 episodes are really good. Vic is perfect.
I would have to say that this is pretty much spot on. Thank you STC for all 11 episodes and vignettes, I've really enjoyed watching them and re-watch them often. I do consider your production to be Season 5 of TOS. I know most consider it season 4, but I feel that TAS is season 4.
Your side by side comparisons show your commitment to getting it right, and your blooper reels are a great time to watch and get a good chuckle over.
Well done on the video, and heck, STC nailed it.
A friend pointed me towards STC. I'm a diehard Trekkie and wasn't too sure about this. But can I just say I've thoroughly enjoyed the series. Every bit as good and deserved a wider audience. Vic you've nailed it. Mr Haberkorn just superb. Nice to see Grant again after Mythbusters. Thank you for your work. it's been fun.
I will so miss STAR TREK CONTINUES.
Crazy wonderful! Vic and cast hit it out of the ballpark.
Star Trek Continues was so well done. The acting, script writing and production value. So much loving attenion by real fans. This was never an infringement, bit a tribute that igninted or reignited the passions of sci fi fans. It was a credit to trekdom.
There's actually other fan films inspired by Star Trek Continues.
And yet there's a conspicuous lack of fan films based on anything resembling Kelvin or STD, lol.
Right down to the hand gestures and movements. Brilliantly done.
Paramount...Why did you stop this?
@@billmcclure2171 Don't insult the Ferengi like that! The Ferengi would have worked out something beneficial to both parties, not sit on Trek then allow Discovery and JJ Trek to try replace it.
@@Y.Moroboshi Yeah, right. Because the Ferengi have always been so honorable, generous and philantrhopic. They don't care about anything that would benefit someone ELSE. I just saw the second, "Lolani" few minutes ago. I was amazed to tears! It should be filmed and transmitted in the 60's, it would be ground breaking! Maybe TOS was cancelled because it was.

I love Star Trek continues.
If I had known about star trek continues, I would have donated money for the cause. This continued series blows me away. I consider star trek continues to be the lost episodes of the original series.
Just catching on to this. Just truly amazing.
That is one hard-core recreation. Nice.
Truly miss this outstanding series! The only difference I can see here is that Marlena is taller, but so what?!
Awesomejob they did! Thanks for doing this, really good to see :-)
Brilliant Vic!
Vic and his portrayal of Kirk..shivers, the guy IS Kirk. And Chris is Scotty! Damn shame CBS/P and Axanar had to go to court.
CBS - MAKE STC last, more of these actors doing these characters!
Star Trek Continues is a MUST SEE for fans of the original. Staship Exeter: The Tressaurian Intersection from 2004 is what started them all and is cannon too as far as i am concerned.
So well acted .. so well done.
Gotta love what Vic and his team achieved, such a shame they were affected by the fallout from the Axanar debacle, as STC could easily have run several seasons, and should have been picked up by Netflix or the like.
For the fans, it surely is Canon,... just as 'The Orville' is more like TNG.
And both fit the mythos better then Discovery.
WOW! really well coordinated.
What great episodes of TOS and STC. "Captain Kirk, I shall consider it."
This is really good!!!!
This is my favorite STC episode, I practically have it on endless loop. Mignogna is true to Shatner's Kirk, while making Kirk his own.
j'ai regardé tous les épisodes de Star trek Continues. Ils sont vraiment super, et plus, sous-titrés en français ! C'est juste dommage de ne pas pouvoir laisser de commentaire afin de les remercier ♥
Good stuff. Nicely done 😂.
I love these shows!
A very good remake of well made & valued speech on change....socially & beyond. Fitting for these strange days.
ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT...
I was if you guys could put all of Star Trek Continues on dvd, and sell those DVD’s at stores like Barnes and Noble? Just curious. Thanks. 🖖🏻
I have enjoyed Star Trek Continues , but there is only one William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy .
Vic and Todd do a great job , it's fun to see the scene along side the original , kudos to the production crew .
What's even amazing about the comparisons - Vic here is 16 years OLDER than Shatner was in 1967!
Simply one aord: TERRIFIC!!!
You're absolutely magnificent
This fan based crew is so fantastic in their portrayals, you have no difficulty in accepting them as the original crew and their moral based space adventures. I wish they would make the next Star Trek movie and forget Chris Pine's portrayal of Capt. Kirk !!
A shame only 3 episodes left.
There are other TOS continuations out there, but none captures the look, feel and spirit like STC. Vic becomes Shatner's Kirk without it becoming some over-the-top parody.
Goosebumps. ..
A parallel universe in a parallel universe fascinating Captain
Oh, HELL yeah!
That was awesome!
The current rehash of Star Trek with Vulcan destroyed and bleshing of old episodes and movies into a script made me wish for the classic tv series . I guess I got my wish with this they are enjoyable.
Brilliant I'm a fan since 1970 here in England,,,
I am glad they did the Continues . The reason ,of course, is they did a bang up job of something that could have easily been a fiasco.
Star Trek Continues was as close as you will ever get to the original series.People who were involved should be so proud of what they achieved.
Not to mention the level of actors they were able to get in each episode. It's one thing to have people like Grant Imahara and Scotty's son, Chris Doohan. Then you see Michael Forest who played 'Apollo' in TOS reprise the same character in a viable way with believable writing. When I saw John DeLancey of all people, I was absolutely blown away. For them to be able to get such actors to reprise an old character or to appear as a new one, is beyond astounding. The remixed original music was spot-on as well.
@@greenrefrigerator and opposite John DeLancey was Anne Lockheart, whom you may remember from various TV roles, including Sheba on the original Battlestar Galactica. Meanwhile Commodore Gray was played by Erin Gray, who played Wilma Deering on Buck Rogers. Rekha Sharma who was in the dark matter episode, was from the BSG reboot. You may also have recognized the big green Orion slave-owner being played by Lou Ferrigno, famous for playing another big green guy. The episode where Kirk is haunted by visions had Colin Baker, the 6th Doctor in the Doctor Who franchise. The voice of the computer was Marina Sirtis, none other than counselor Troi - except in the above mirror universe episode, where the computer voice was done by Michael Dorn, aka Worf.
I had a clip of STC pop up on my news feed. It had Chris Doohan in it as Scotty. I watched an episode, and was immediately hooked!! The episode was the one where they were going to give command of the Hood to Spock. I've been addicted ever since! I would love it if the would do more STC. Sadly, paramount/cbs won't allow that. STC is LEVELS ABOVE the crap that the parent companies are throwing out.
Absolutely. A truly spectacular series. These people should have been involved in the movies.
Indeed (right eyebrow raised).
