I haven't read the comments so I'm not sure if someone else mentioned this, but Daniel Cooper did the same experiment w/ PU resin, UV resin AND epoxy resin. Once he gets an idea, he goes ALL the way 😆 Seriously shocking results...if u've watched Daniel's channel, that wldn't be a surprise! Gr8 job, btw; u're VERY talented!

And she kept thanking him for his experiments all the way through the video. She definitely wasn’t trying to imply this was her invention. Not sure this commenter even watched the video 🙄

@@ResinEssenceByCheri I'm referring to ~3:00-3:15ish. She said that u can't use this method w/ epoxy resin. All I was saying is that Daniel Cooper did these experiments w/ it & had been successful, so all I wanted was to let her know, jic she hadn't been aware of that video so she cld enjoy making the clay in other ways.

I can't wait to try this. I believe Daniel did do it with regular resin also to give a longer working time, and it did work also. Thank you for sharing on a larger scale. ❤ You do need to make sure that you put the same amount of corn starch/flour in each part.

To ensure equal amounts of corn starch in each part of the resin, weigh Part 1 of the resin before adding the corn starch. Weigh again after adding the desired amount of corn starch. The difference between the two weights will give you the amount of corn starch needed for Part 2 of the resin.

I have been working with molds for years but just getting started with epoxy resins and air dry clays. As nail techs we have been using cornstarch for a few different applications. From turning clear finishes into a matt finishes, to sculpting flowers in molds and on nails with UV resins. It takes someone with a very inquisitive mind to combine these ingredients. I'm very glad there people like that. Stay crafty everyone. ❤️

I love how much that everyone who is trying this, makes sure that they give credit to @Daniel_Cooper !!!! Here in the USA we call that corn starch… here, corn flour would be the same thing as corn meal which is really gritty… the first time I hear someone say corn flour, I was very confused! lol this is the first time I have actually seen the container that the cornflour comes in! I’ve wanted to make one of the wood and resin pieces for so long but don’t have any sanding equipment to finish them so this stuff is perfect to replace the wood and just pop into a mold - no sanding required. @maiaallman4635 I mixed my resin first then added POP, 2tsps to 20ml resin. It becomes opaque white and you can add colour if you like. Start off with small things until you get the mix to your liking and if you feel it's getting too hot in the mold, just put it in the fridge for abit. Hope this helps 🙂

Yes, it's finely milled corn or maize.

In the US, cornflour is drastically different than cornstarch. It’s more gritty and yellow and this would not work with what we have here that’s known as cornflour. But I am seeing that cornstarch and cornflour are the same thing in other countries, which confused me as well. lol. Either way this was gorgeous and I am sure that you will invent something new soon! I love the way you and Daniel always try new things and push the boundaries!!

Do you need to use corn flour , or any flour will do?

Originally, corn starch was used. Someone mentioned they used plaster of Paris, so that might be an option.
