And it was "the thing that killed mom" demons were unknown in the beginning of S1... They were "demons are a big deal" when those were found out. So from a "thing" (monster is what they thought) to defeating God. Man what a show
As a fan of the show, these have been the funniest 30 min of my life. He went through the same emotions I did with zero of the trauma. Plus, I loved how he was so close yet so far about Cas.
I love that Dylan goes “I feel like these guys have died multiple times” any spn fan: “there’s a whole episode where they relive the same day over and over and dean dies like 300 times in that one episode”
@@hipheart113 no true. Meg stayed around for a long. I know!!! After all the times Dean died, it was easily the worst. Also, the show should have ended with it being on a Tuesday and at the end, Gabriel talks to him
I only watched 6 seasons of spn and rn dylan and i are watxh the last szn together. I saw soo many points in the show where sam or dean couldve been happy and the show couldve ended.

Imo i never really shipped destiel BUT i feel like dean should have ended up with either cas or cassie (i know that would never happen but...)
But its exactly the end he wished for. He didnt want to have his life to be controlled by anyone and go out on what he can do best "a hunt" and what better prove of him not beeing controlled by some celestial beeing could there be then going out on some random Mission? @@RandomGuy-ol4pv but there were so many hints if Dean wanting to just live the low life and he deserved that. He deserved to have nieces and nephews to spoil. He deserved a nice life with love.
I think we can all agree the last episode wasn't done properly. Dean deserved the life that Sam ended up having. If you've watched the entire show and saw how he gave up having that family for Sam(like he always did), it will break you to know he ended up dying like that. He deserved happiness
I saw a post recently how the finale for season 5, what was meant to be the finale of the whole show, was done right and was how it should have ended, and I can’t help but agree. I’m glad we got more seasons because there was so much good added (especially with Cas) but Dean deserved the happy ending. Preferably with Cas.
The reason it happened this way is Dean said he wants to die on the job not naturally (foreshadowing) and he wants Sam to grow old and love someone, dying a natural life. They wrapped it up the way Dean wanted it to end, him dying valiantly on the job, and Sam living the life HE wanted, surrounded by the ones he loves.
@@azbycx737 that's a good point too. It was really just bitter that it all went back to season 1, like all the progress was not really important. Kinda like it was a continuation of their life before their dad went MIA. Sam having a family(him having jess in season 1), Dean dying on the job(him already hunting while sam went to have a normal life in season 1)
“Why am I getting freaked out by a CW show?” CW pilots put in a lot of time and effort to try and sell it to the CW execs so it can go to series. That’s why most pilot episodes seem a lot more well made than the rest of the show’s episodes. I remember seeing the pilot when I was 12 and being scared, and then seeing the rest of the season and that fear was non existent lol.
If you actually hear Jenson real voice, it is still a lot lighter than his dean voice in the later seasons, even after the damage of putting on that fake voice. I wish he stayed with his natural voice, like in the first episode it sounded more real and less silly.
I just binged and finished the series last week and it destroyed me. I wasn’t expecting that ending at all. You can’t do this with this show! It feels like a crime. You need to watch the last 3 episodes. The last episode didn’t show any of the other characters or storylines. I agree it was weird and just didn’t seem right. I love how shocked you are that Dean beheaded someone, like it hasn’t been happening the whole time 😅 also guns don’t work on vampires, you have to behead them. I love your personality ❤️😂
i finished it last night and when dean died i saw there was 20 min left so i was just like “oh he’s not actually dead” but i was very wrong, they really missed the mark with the final episode
@a_little_stitious yea they absolutely did. I basically started in 2021 I think in September, and had to hurry to get to season 15 episode 17 before episode 18 aired because the fandom had already seen that that was Misha's last episode and yeah. It was chaotic, stressful and then I did get there in time with like a week left. I was devastated when it all was done. The ending does not exist.
@@jonathanking9954 personally i don’t think that dean wanted to die hunting he just thought it was inevitable, as shown when michael was controlling his vessel he wanted to own a bar that was for hunters, i also think he wanted a family cause we can see family is important to him, if sam hadn’t been gone when he was with lisa i think he would have been happy
When the show ended I didn't watch the final episodes until I went back and binge watched every other episode (all 15 seasons - took weeks -- would have taken longer if most fun things weren't shut and it wasn't fall/winter) and I noticed immediately that there voices were not as deep in the beginning. I was going to try to clock when they got deeper but forgot. It was pretty close to the beginning of the show.
@@mortimerbrewster3671 Jensen said he did it deliberately to emulate Jeffrey Dean Morgan, so it makes sense it would be sometime in the earlier seasons. Supernatural is probably my favorite tv show. The first 5 seasons were so damn good. Seasons 6 and 7 where iffy, but I think things got back on track from 8-15. I'm not 100% happy with how it ended, but still
@@MtVesuviusif it hadn’t been for covid the ending should have been Bobby & Dean going into the Roadhouse & seeing everyone! All their lost loved ones, Cas right by the door. Then we see Sam’s life (& we actually get to see his wife’s face!) & the end is the Roadhouse door opening & Sam walking in, greeted by Dean & welcomed by everyone. Though I also wouldn’t have had Dean die like that.
I watched it up to season 6, and went off to college. Apparently some stuff went down with God and his sister, and God was actually that anxiety riddled prophet writer that wrote the Supernatural series in the show. The writers really did run out of stories to tell, didn't they?
I held off watching this video until I finished Supernatural for myself. Took me a year but hear I am, watching your reaction to it. Lol, when Dylan said he need more anger out of Dean, I died laughing 😂 Dean is literally the most angry character on the show and Jensen’s acting gets so much better as the season goes. Hands down the best actor on this show. Dean not my fave character, but Jensen is my fave actor on this show
Me watching Dylan laugh at Dean’s jokes and compliment them is like watching my boyfriend meet my best friend. Not sure which is which lmao. Goddamn, Dylan would really love this show!
Dylan being mad about Dean dying being cheap and he doesn’t even know how many times all of these characters died and were brought back is really funny to me lmao
I actually liked the way the show ended -- it fit with the entire run of the show. Dean was always saying that he was going to die fighting and Sam was always trying to get out to have a normal life, which Dean wanted for him even if he didn't want to fight without Sam. Sam never would have quit while Dean was alive. It would have been nice to have some reunions but blame the shut down, not the show, for missing out on that.
@@mortimerbrewster3671 I understand your point of view. However personally that’s exactly what I hate about it. My favorite thing about stories is the development and what this show did is take every bit of development and threw it out the window. While I have MANY other problems with the show, that’s my biggest complaint. They could’ve done so much with it. That is just my opinion. Also it’s kinda weird being someone who loves and hates spn simultaneously lmao
@@jaysgreenbeans2163 Well I heard that it was changed a bit because of covid restrictions. They didn't reunite with people like Cas, or their parents. They felt it was better to just reference them so they can focus more on the other bits that would drive the episode and not the small 30 second moments. I doubt it was their intention but they said what the episode ended up being was what they always intended supernatural to be, just sam and dean. Dean dying was you're average end of the tale death of the hero and or mentor. Dean was the driving force of the series, find dad, save sam, save the world. It was the times that Dean would give up that felt hopeless, so him being the one dying on the Job and sam just quitting made sense because without Dean, Sam has no place in that world of hunting because Dean was the driving factor of the story. If sam died or if they both died on the job it would be even more meaningless, and if no one died then the conclusion would be lackluster, sam and dean hunt until they can't anymore with the same luck even after basically becoming normal people after being the main characters you could say, sam has a family and dean is driving down a road smiling. If everything went right then it wouldn't feel like supernatural, at the end of every season they succeed and a new threat arrives, but not this time, dean dies and sam quits hunting then dies at an old age, its not an open ending, there are no theories because sam and dean died for real this time and the show ended without any possibility of a sequel including sam and dean.

My gf talked me into watching the show and I’m so glad I did. They had literal plot armor the whole show bc God was toying with them. Once they defeated God, they became way more vulnerable. They could actually die now. And Dean did. I personally liked this finale, because it made sense, but that's just me. :]
You’re the only person I’ve seen online who I actually agree with about this 😭 His death scene made me cry, but it needed to happen for Sammy to have the life he’d always longed for. haha, yeah I had a video chat about this online. Some guy wanted to debate me like was it a "great ending" vs a "horrible ending" -- and I was like... it was pretty much as decent as it could be during Covid for any 15 year series. Was it as great as the best endings of shows that were planned to end -- like 6 feet under or The Good Place or stuff like that? No - but it couldn't be, because it was 15 years. But was it horrible like the multitudes of terrible endings like GoT or Heroes or stuff like that? Nah, wasn't that either. He thought he was going to get some major argument and... It was fine. And also like @Midnight Garden Mysteries says -- pretty much NO ending was going to make anyone happy since anyone who kept watching it for 15 years still didn't want it to end.
Just found your channel. As a fan of Supernatural since 2005... Many of your comments are not wrong. It was a very good show, and the finale was awful! It was filmed during covid, so they didn't get to do the full impactful finale that they had planned. As a dedicated fan, I was disappointed in the finale. And yes... Sam's wig was atrocious! It's all I really think about when it comes to the end. Although it ended badly, the rest of the show does have many beautiful moments and deserves at least one run-through.
Actually a major chunk of the fanbase left after season 5, another set found season 7 so bad, a bunch deserted with Crowley, it just got badly written/low production value in the Dabb era so viewing figures were falling really low Only (the shouty) part of the fanbase were really pissed, many expressed how appropriate it was to reference the beginning of the show and some of us were just glad it finally got put out of it's misery.
@@nomadpurple6154 You make it sound like SPN didn't gain back those fans and then some every season. Yes fans fell off after major events and changes like you mentioned but it never got to the point where SPN was struggling for viewership. There is a reason why it is the longest running sci-fi/fantasy TV show. Not sure what part of the fanbase you were at but I only saw the desire for SPN to go another season because of COVID. I didn't sense that fans were tired of the show and wanted it to finally end. The ending was extremely disappointing and honestly for a show that ran that long, I doubt there is an ending you can make that would satisfy the majority of the fanbase.
Nah most mature fans realize that ending was the "perfect" ending just not executed the way it should have. Also, it's important to note they had to film the ending with multiple delays and problems due to COVID so only little kids are pissed about it.

Supernatural is the show that you have to watch all of it to understand the ending. Like why they can only behead the vamps and why Deans simple death makes sense and aligns with the story, etc.
Imo I don’t think deans death aligned with the story :( they spent the whole show (and even more so the last season) fighting against the idea of fate and destiny, fighting for free will so they could make their own story, and then dean dies exactly the way he was always “supposed to?” You’d think they would finally break free from that and get to actually live their lives
@@PundaExpressI think it aligned perfectly dean always wanted to go out hunting. Whereas Sam never wanted to hunt at all and just wanted a normal life in the end they both got what they wanted their happy endings

That's good though. Dean died the way he wanted, on a normal hunt in a normal way, going down swinging (literally). Not some big sacrifice to save the world, Dean's had enough of that crap, being put through the ringer by Chuck for his epicness fix. This is way more honorable for Dean.
@@shrutimahant I agree!!! I don’t understand why so many people hate the finale, and deans death, because deans always wanted to go down in a fight not in some massive spectacular way. And I thought the finale was perfect

Dean wanted to love Cas and he wanted to LIVE and in the end he was robbed of both.
The fact that Dylan didn’t even know about Castiel, the third biggest character in the show, proves how bad the finale screwed him over. He barely even got a mention. I will never forgive this show for what they did to Cas.
Do you mean when he went to super hell because he had romantic feelings for a man? (Just to be clear, I love that he does. Just wish they didn't propagate that he will go to hell for who he loves)
@@ToriTheDormouse I mean technically, him dying and going to the Empty was a plot line started in the last couple of seasons I think. He didn't go because he loved Dean, he went because he was happy. They had two whole episodes for Dean to talk about it with Sam, or confirm or deny that he reciprocated, but they glossed over it like it was irrelevant. Just so damn frustrating and terrible writing.
It's honestly so disrespectful, I don't know how anyone working on that show was ok to completely cut off a character that has been in the show for twelve years. I don't how Misha was ok with that. Because it's not ok, it's not and they must know it but they did it anyway.

@@footloosefan1234 Since it was Dean's death that led to Sam leaving the life, not Chuck's defeat or Jack becoming God, makes Dean feel like a roadblock in Sam's life, which is an injustice to Dean. Furthermore, Sam indicated in season 10 that he was overall content with his life and didn't really want to pursue a normal life, and later seasons didn't show him changing his mind on that topic. It also seems weird that Sam ended up with a faceless wife. I personally believe that he ended up with Eileen, but she wasn't even mentioned in the last two episodes. And if he didn't end up with Eileen, then why? Did they break up? Since there wasn't a major reunion in Heaven, Dean dying and going to Heaven instead of living is pointless for Dean's character. If he wanted to drive around with his brother forever, he could have just done that on Earth. I honestly would have preferred it if Dean ended up getting a bar, like that dream in season 14. Another issue is the fact that after Jack woke up everyone in the Empty in episode 18, there was no resolution to the Empty. Finally, Cas was barely mentioned in the finale. Cas has shown up in everyone season finale since he was introduced, so the fact that he wasn't there felt strange. Yeah, I get that there were COVID restrictions, but the Winchesters could have talked about him more. Last time Cas died, Dean spent 5 episodes moping over his death, but now he only gets two mentions? When it comes to Supernatural, there's no such thing as objective. Everyone has only subjective feelings towards everything in this show, even someone who only watched two episodes. If you didn't like the finale, that's just your subjective opinion. People also have very positive feelings towards the finale that are just as valid.
It's really hard to have an objectively bad series finale. The pacing was kinda poor, but in terms of content, it's very subjective. They didn't go the route of having the end of the brothers being with the big chuck finale and instead went with the dream route I guess. Dean dies on a normal hunt, the true end of a hunter. Sam dies of old age and he gets to experience everything that he wanted originally. The brothers both got to die the way they wanted, Cas got to reshape heaven just like he wanted, and we would have seen old cast if it weren't for rona.
i’m actually not mad at all, i’m super satisfied. there was no other way i would have been happy with dean dying, had he gone down swinging there will be a monster that has the title of the monster that killed Dean Winchester and dean deserves better than that. the only way dean would have had peace, which is what we always wanted for him, would be in death. it’s like the song literally says “carry on my wayward son, there’ll be peace when you are done.” jack is god now, he’ll find some way to deal with them but dean needs his peace. he’s been fighting his entire life. sam finally got his normal life fr this time. we ALL knew dean could never have that, he tried and it didn’t feel right, not to him and not to us. the whole crew is together in heaven where they can actually interact and just live. it’s been the ultimate goal of the fandom all along. for the boys to rest.

Also I do have to say that I like that dean died in just a random hunt. I think it makes sense that it ends that way. They've been doing this for years, brought back from the dead, survived unlikely scenarios, all it ever took was one stab through the chest
Just watching this 2 years after you posted this video. Am a SPN fan, and honestly, you can't get the real reason why we who are fans LOVE the show. they gave us all the endings tho, like the one before the last episode was the epic ending, and the last episode is like the "died on a normal day" ending, like the one many fans thought the show is gonna have, after everything they went through
It’s actually really poetic. It’s a tragic ending for Dean, and Sam gets the life he always wanted but it’s tragic too, because of all the years he spent with Dean hunting. Not everything has to end in sunshine and rainbows. I’m immensely satisfied with the way the show ended
it was actually very satisfying in my opinion. I think the virus limiting it made it better. It would have been cheesey to have all the cast back. They added all kinds of cookey characters but in the end it was just the two brothers the way it began. It was perfect in theory but difficult to stretch into an entire episode.
This is so funny. Knowing that the God/Devil stuff happened SO early in the show and there was still so many seasons. Turns out where was lots to go after God/Devil show up. And the joke about it being a show without knowing about the all the meta episodes. This was a great video.

@@PundaExpresswhy in the hell would dean spend an entire 15 seasons saying hes gonna die fighting monsters and then just randomly on the last episode be like “yea actually my entire life goal has changed for no reason”
@@jonathanking9954the amount of people who are only upset because it wasnt a fully happy ending for everyone is astonishing i feel like some of these people didnt even watch the story they just watched a show 😂
The best episode is the one called the French Mistake, its so funny! how they switch to a different universe where demons and angels don't exist and they are supposed to be the real actors of the show haha
Genuinely my favourite episode
“He didn’t die for the overall story; he just died in some random mission that they put together in the last episode.” Even Dylan knows how awful this ending is after only seeing the pilot!
@@shrutimahant and they were finally free from chuck writing there story, like you said 😁
@@shrutimahant but he wanted to die guns blazing. Not by getting impaled on a rod on a random vampire mission 😐😭
@@shrutimahant DEAN DIDN'T WANNA DIE. He went from a person with low sense of worth, someone who hated himself and saw himself as poison to someone who saved people, who was good and caring and wanted MORE, wanted to experience things, maybe some for the very first time, who wanted umbrella drinks, and have his toes in the sand, who wanted to have his own life and not be controlled by Chuck.
My problem was that Cas made this huge confession, and Dean had NO opinion on it whatsoever.
It also proves Dylan has never been on tumblr before
Wow you’re totally right
"Jack is their godfather," well you got half that right lol
as someone who has watched supernatural all the way through multiple times this video is so funny
Dylan: "I can't be sad. People gotta be pissed, right, after I've invested an hour and a half into this show. How dare you??!"
Every fan who invested enough time to watch all 327 episodes of this show: *SOBBING OVER DEAN'S BODY*
10 days straight with no pauses. People have put that amount of time into this plus fanfics and art and just resonating with this for months between seasons.
i’m so glad i stopped watching in season 10 bc if i invested more time in this show and saw this shit ending i would have lost it
@@footloosefan1234 Since it was Dean's death that led to Sam leaving the life, not Chuck's defeat or Jack becoming God, makes Dean feel like a roadblock in Sam's life, which is an injustice to Dean.
Considering, Bobby said that Cas helped rebuild Heaven, I'm pretty sure that Cas is in fact alive, but prior to that statement, neither of the Winchesters knew that.
@@footloosefan1234 dean didn’t die going out swinging he died of TETANUS dude. like i. expected dean to die i think everyone who watched the show expected them to die but deans death was sloppily written. like he died on a random hunt and he just died when the episode before cas sacrificed himself for dean just to die again. of TETANUS the dude died bc of a fucking nail. like obviously i didn’t expect a happy ending where dean and sam live on a unicorn and float off into the sunset. but it seems like they just knew that sam should have a family and dean should die. then they didn’t put any effort into making dean die a meaningful and impactful death or making sam’s family ending feel satisfying. like sam had a love interest named Eileen that they didn’t even bother putting him together with but instead he marries some random woman that we weren’t introduced to. like the ending just seemed rushed honestly
@@ischristinaok i completely agree and couldnt have said it better myself tbh. i stopped watching around season 11 and the fact that the show went on for so long and the ending was as messy as this is genuinely shocking
Their mother was actually a hunter before the boys were born - that's why she didn't wake their dad when she realised it wasn't him with the baby.
omg ive never noticed that
holy shit ur right
Spoiler alert haha
She knew it was the demon she sold Sam to.
Louise ur watching a video featuring the finale, you should be prepared for spoilers lol
this man can not watch the first and last episodes and not go through the utter heartbreak over and over that happens throughout 15 years of Sam and Dean
Anyone else patiently, faithfully waiting for the day when Dylan makes the video --after avidly watching this show in its entirety-- to explain in detail why the finale is ACTUALLY GOOD and ALSO AWFUL?
"Jack is their God-father obviously" You know, he's not totally wrong. XD
I thought the same thing 😂
I like how in coming up with fake descriptions for Jack and cas he actually described 2 other characters in the show

The cass and Cassandra thing was kinda on point too.😂😂
He was partially right on both as far as I know. (btw I’ve only watched a few episodes & have heard some stuff from others lol)

Haven't watched the last episode either, but what in the vampire diaries is this ending???😭😭
Same, I’m in denial

Which sucks cause I can’t wait to watch him react and see what he gets right lol
I haven't watched the last season to begin with, I don't think I would be able to do it in a long time :'((( it feels like the end of an era
Took me somewhere between 2-3 weeks to watch all 15 seasons recently & I don't regret it whatsoever.
Im sorry- 2 TO 3 WEEKS?!!??
I never believed I could ever feel anything else other than sadness while watching Supernatural's last episode but here I am laughing at your jokes lmao. This was somehow healing because the show BROKE ME. really funny and interesting video, I loved it lol
Dylan, knowing nothing about the series, pinpointed almost everything wrong with the finale. This just proves how objectively bad it was.
@@shrutimahant anyways the finale was objectively bad
It wasn’t even bad
@@ibuprofriends No, that's your opinion, meaning it's subjective. I thought it was good.
"People gotta be pissed, right?"
You have no idea, Dylan
i’m actually not mad at all, i’m super satisfied. there was no other way i would have been happy with dean dying, had he gone down swinging there will be a monster that has the title of the monster that killed Dean Winchester and dean deserves better than that. the only way dean would have had peace, which is what we always wanted for him, would be in death. it’s like the song literally says “carry on my wayward son, there’ll be peace when you are done.” jack is god now, he’ll find some way to deal with them but dean needs his peace. he’s been fighting his entire life. sam finally got his normal life fr this time. we ALL knew dean could never have that, he tried and it didn’t feel right, not to him and not to us. the whole crew is together in heaven where they can actually interact and just live. it’s been the ultimate goal of the fandom all along. for the boys to rest.
@@fa-shizzle-a-lizzle7142 Alright. I'm glad you are happy with the way the show ended.
I have a lot of issues with the writing but ultimately I just wish Dean had been able to find peace in life, not in death. To me, it felt like that's what his character development through the whole show had been working towards. Dean realizing that he's not just a weapon. That he can live, that he's worthy of something. I have a lot of childhood trauma, not at all unlike Dean's, and I relate to his character a lot. I guess I just think that neither he nor I are too broken to find happiness in this world
@@fa-shizzle-a-lizzle7142 idk if ur happy u do u it’s not a crime to love something bad but the fact that Dylan, who only watched 3 eps, had all the same complaints as fans shows how poor this was done. I’m sure if he watched the whole show he’d also point out other valid things but even w those things the show stayed on bc there was still a lot of good. And one could also just ignore the bad and skip the bad seasons/ eps but not with this - cus it’s the end
@@pinsandneedles3 don’t misunderstand. i loved dean because he felt extremely reminiscent. it’s kind of like with Benny, he couldn’t live on earth, it wasn’t for him. but neither you or i fight monsters (actual monsters) or have had our entire families ripped away from us so to actually compare ourselves to dean in that way, will never make sense. there was more to him than fighting monsters and more to him than being broken, he was both. combined, he could have never found happiness on earth because at the end of the day he was selfless. he would have never given monsters on earth a break just to live his life here. it HAD to end in death. as morbid as it sounds, we KNOW he’s okay now. he’s with sam, he’s with bobby , he has everyone he lost without the danger of losing them, without the constant fear that this is gonna end. isn’t that wonderful?? isn’t that what we’ve always wanted?? it’s not like he could have lived a long life either, take his diet into consideration. when they lost their heroes luck, you saw what happened. years of burgers and beer caught up to him. so yes i am happy with it. you’re reasoning, while i understand where it’s coming from, ultimately doesn’t make the ending not good. i’m not trying to change your mind i’m telling you what literally happened and you may always hate the ending, it was for the best. it was what he deserved. most importantly, it was his choice. all he needed was sam’s okay to go. even in death he is the most selfless man ever. he wanted to make sure Sam was okay with him dying, he wanted to make sure he’d be okay. it was fucking heartbreaking to hear but to see them together in heaven, after that hell of a life they lived, it made it worth it.
@@isabellapalacio4631 it actually just made me feel upset BECAUSE he had the same complaints as fans who watched the whole show. because the fans that watched the whole show saw exactly what i did and still feel that way, it’s honestly selfish, i don’t know what other death would’ve been fit for dean and same. dylan doesn’t know the HELL they went through he didn’t even know how to kill vampires was to use a machete, so no, his opinion holds zero value and it just goes to show how the fans that are upset, most likely didn’t even understand what the ending actually meant for Sam and Dean. actually think about it, i gave my reasoning above. would you really be okay with dean dying because of a monster??? that feels weak as shit. the way he died, in a way, it felt human. a freak accident. it felt NORMAL. it’s everything they are not. and depending on how you look at it, that could be beautiful. or like dylan, who watched literally two episodes, said, “cheap.”

they gave us all the endings tho, like the one before the last episode was the epic ending, and the last episode is like the "died on a normal day" ending, like the one many fans thought the show is gonna have, after everything they went through
It’s actually really poetic.
