      was almost gonna buy this cuz of these comments but just saw it has silicones which is a big no for me, for the curly way ;; do you know alternatives without silicone?

    • @camilabrito6454
      @camilabrito6454 9 місяців тому

      @@2PMisTimelessI go through this same issue. It’s not a lot of silicone but I feel it ON the hair... if they took it out then it would be my holy grail. Right now, I use the mielle moisture hydrating deep conditioner, there’s no protein or silicone and it’s really effective. Unfortunately, it comes in a smaller container so that’s a bummer.

      I suspect the reason why they're putting coconut in the "low porosity products" and trying to get us to buy into it is because it's a cheap product to use in their manufacturing process...

      I think my hair is low porosity but nothing bad happened when I use castor oil or coconut oil. I made the mistake of using Shea butter but on my scalp and I used cold water so it didn't want to leave my roots. Now I use warm water and baking soda as a cleanse then shampoo and the castor oil comes off from my scalp. Castor oil is good for edges and that's where I use it mostly but I used it on my entire head when I was thinking from stress, lack of sleep and using raw carrot oil without a carrier oil. Not all oils are sealants.

    Great video! I have low porosity hair and I couldn’t find the TGIN honey mask in any local or beauty supply stores, only saw it on Amazon so I got the Shea Moisture Honey deep conditioner hair mask today. I started using Blue Magic hair grease (the blue one) to seal In moisture and I like it, it’s very lightweight and moisturizes my hair, but I tried the Blue Magic Indian Hemp because of good reviews and it is so much thicker than the blue one and weighted my hair down and felt gooey like the coconut and castor oil felt in your hair. I mix a little of it with the blue but I won’t be using the remains of it.

    That's so true @ coconut oil, I loooove it on my body, but when I tried coconut oil in my hair it just kinda sits there, but oddly enough my hair is receptive to jamaica castor oil and heavy butter, but I apply it maybe twice in a week small amounts at a time and spray a hydrating leave-in on my hair first. When I tried that honey product (the one shaped like a honey jar) in Camille rose it was terrible! But I started using the exact honey line from TGIN and it's a winner, actually just ordered the mask yesterday. Really great video!!

    Thank you for this. I just recently damaged my hair with a color shampoo. I used way too much and now my hair is dry and breaking. I’ve had shedding for a while but no breakage until now. I was just trying to cover the few greys I had and it didn’t even do that 😞 It just left my hair in worse condition. I learned low porosity hair does not like too much products so we have to be careful not to over process our hair. If I can’t restore my hair then I may just have to cut it. I’ll do what I can first and hopefully it turns out okay.

      @@patricemurray7620 Oh no… You would think that by cutting it, it would grow back healthy but it’s still brittle after that smh. That does sound frustrating. I was thinking of cutting my hair if the deep conditioning doesn’t repair it but now I wonder if it will make any difference by cutting it. So are you just going to keep cutting it until it grows back healthier? Have you already tried deep conditioning treatment/ reconstructing hair bond? I wish there was some kind of warning on the label to not use too much or maybe there is. I don’t think I want to use any color moving forward.

    I have to spray my hair one or two times over about an hour just so my hair can actually get wet within the course of a 15 minute shower lol. I was bald for about 7 years and recently started growing out my, hair again. I had so many problems with product build-up last time I grew out my hair because I was using high-porosity products (which it seems like most products are for high-porosity 😮‍💨). This time around, I'm using Allafia black soap for shampoo, Pierre's Apothecary conditioner, NOU's low-porosity leave-in, and tiny bit of Renpure conditioner (or any conditioner tbh) bc the NOU leave-in needs just a little bit of help to hold moisture throughout the day.
    I co-wash every time I shower, and I shampoo every 3-4 days. The Pierre's apothecary conditioner is sooooo good, it really moisturizes and washes put like 95% clean. It's not a shampoo, but it rinses out great because it has only a few, light ingredients in it.

      It can be challenging to moisturize low porosity, but adding low heat (just a minute or two) helps when trying to get moisture to penetrate the hair shaft. Don't give up just yet. ❤️

    What if you're not really low porosity but actually some where in the middle? Would the products you mentioned still be beneficial since they do in fact contain healthy ingredients?

    • @SimplyJustCee
      @SimplyJustCee  Рік тому +1

      If you feel your hair is in the middle, then that would be medium/normal porosity. This would mean that your hair can take in moisture fairly easily and hold it for a longer time. If that's the case, you'd want to stay away from products that are heavy and be sure not to use a lot of products that have protein in them (normal porosity hair already has the right level of protein), or you will easily get protein-overload.
      You mentioned in another comment that you were trying to bring your hair back to life. Check the labels on the current products you are using because you may be in protein-overloaded, which produces dull, dry, frizzy, hard, and limp hair. The products I mentioned in this video should work well with your hair 🙂.

    • @SimplyJustCee
      @SimplyJustCee  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi! You are correct. It does contain shea butter. Due to the high amount of glycerine that's in it, it balances it out, and the shea butter within that product line doesn't weight down the hair. I will say that I no longer use the Low Porosity line from Shea Moisture; it's not as moisturizing as other products I use. Thanks for watching!

    How often should I be conditioning my hair in the shower, should it only be when I wash my hair or every other day?

    • @SimplyJustCee
      @SimplyJustCee  3 місяці тому

      Hi, typically right after you wash your hair is good. Low porosity hair gets product build- up easily, so I wouldn't recommend you condition your hair daily (unless you're someone that washes your hair daily as well).

      Clarifying shampoos should be used when you feel you have quite a lot of build up or Haven't washed your hair in awhile, otherwise just use your moisturizing shampoo, then go in with you regular rinse out conditioner to help you detangle your hair, next should be your deep conditioner which you can apply heat to like she said for it to really work, you wash everything out up till the point of a LEAVE-IN conditioner and the a styling cream and oil ❤
      Hope this helps?

    I have type 2 hair and it may be on the lower end of porosity. Becuse it takes a long time to blow dry. However it takes color ok and I know that coloring your hair can effecty hair porosity. So I am wondering if these products will improve my hair health as I have always has a hard time finding things that help my waves and not build up on them. I know that when your hair grow at the root its already low. If anybody has any idea on stylers or other products feel free to let me know. FYI when I blow dry its always frizzy and when I put a flat iron to it. It never gets complely straight. 😊

    Hi do you have something to recommend for daily moisture on low porosity hair?

    • @SimplyJustCee
      @SimplyJustCee  10 місяців тому +2

      Hey there! I don't recommend using a moisturizer daily. Low porosity hair holds on to product and gets weighted down easily. Take a look at your wash day routine because that's where the initial hydration and moisture will come from. If moisture in locked in properly, low porosity is able to retain moisture anywhere between 3-5 days (depending on the style it's in). I use Camille Rose's Curl Love Moisture Milk as my moisturizer every 4 days with a little water or The Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam if my hair is in its curly state. Check out my Wash Day Routine for some tips on how to lock in moisture on low porosity hair. ua-cam.com/video/Sd0p7nJHLSo/v-deo.html :)
