It's that time of year! The class of 2022! Do you need an interactive way to give money to those graduates this year? Today Maymay has a great money pull box that will be a hit!

~~Measurements~~
Chipboard:
1 piece cut to 9" x 12"
1 piece cut to 5" x 5"
1 piece cut to 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
1 piece of cardstock cut to 2' x 9"
Box base:
Take the 9" x 12" piece of chipboard and half cut ( see the video) at 3" and 6" on the 9" side...then turn to the 12" side and half cut at 3", 6" and 9" See the video on how to trim
Lid:
Take the 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" piece of chipboard and half cut 1" on all four sides. See the video on how to trim
Construction strips:
Take the 2" x 9" cardstock strip and on the 2" side score at 1/2" and 1 1/2" all the way down the strip. You will then turn to the 9" side and cut 4 pieces at 3" and 4 pieces at 1"... see the video on how to use these strips

I did a version of this money box for my ten year old grandson. Used twenty one dollar bills. It was a great success.
This is adorable! I can’t use dollar bills, we have coins for a dollar called a loonie and the 2 dollar coin is called a toonie lol. We start with paper money at the 5 dollars, this is an expensive box. LOL!
Since we live clear across the country from our grandsons, this project may not be a great idea now, but it'll be a terrific project for when/if they visit some time! I've created a list of fun projects with links to the appropriate video for when I have lots of time to play, so this will be a great addition to that list. Thanks for sharing this with us, Maymay!!!

Nice project! When you tie your loops for the tassel in the beginning don't cut the string, instead just begin wrapping it around the neck of the tassel.

OG… I even watched this video once, saved it, and then came back to make it a few weeks later… and STILL forgot to make the slit before folding the whole box!! Surely must be dementia 🤪
I have 2 grads this year. My granddaughter and her friend. I like doing different things. But if you use cardstock, all your half cuts have to be score marks.. I have to remember that. Lol thanks for sharing. Have to check out your other ideas too.
Great project. I would go with school colors for the tassel.... and I would pull the knot on the tassel by the button to rest in the middle of the tassel so it's hidden..... Great project for the senior.... Congratulations, Joe!!!! God bless !!!!

Love it! I put a roll of money in my son's birthday cake. It was a bass fishing cake and the hook on the rod and reel was attached to the money. It was a hit!

This is brilliant! I live in the UK and unfortunately we don’t have one pound notes anymore. The smallest note we have are 5 pound notes!unrolling 4 notes isn’t quite as much fun!

My grandson graduated this year too. May have to try this! I usually do the Mason jar with a topper with treats for our graduates at church but not sure I can do 7 boxes this year!

I could use some tips. I have a separate cutter for chipboard but it never cuts the same on both sides. I don't seem to end up with a clean cut. I try to line it up the same but.... sigh.
I use my chipboard cutter for a half cut, then use my exacto knife to cut through. It's more precise that way.
If you use card stock will it be a score instead of a half cut?
