@@chadbrockett2686 i have corrosiv, frost, radiactiv and electric so they are. Some of them consume 2 ammo per shot.. 1 per shot ofc is better version.

This has to be the best build for Zane, and it's so much fun!! I'm absolutely shredding everything, I have this Stranger Things SMG and another SMG with Radiation damage and about 20% smg damage from an artifact. Nothing stands a chance xD
Zane is absolutely bonkers he just needs more investment to shine where fl4k can take 2 augments, one action skill, and any Jacob's and Is beast mode. I think as people find better rolled class mods with the right attribute rolls+skill tree points Zane builds will become some of the best. not to mention his annointed bonuses are insanely strong.
It's not that zane is bad really, it's that fl4k's burst is so overtuned at the moment... I have all hunters finished and fl4k is by far the stupidest in that regard, 3 shotting a grave is honestly just ridiculous, it shouldn't be allowed. Zane is still really fun though and does have nice consistent dps! I just feel he needs more active control personally.
@@silverfox9107 dude everyone can do huge damage that's why this game is so sick my Amara phasegraspes enemy's and the enemy that is phasegraspes takes bonus damage also after the enemy dies it seeks out and debuffs other enemy's and trapping anyone around in the precess. It's all about stacking your skills.
High speed Zane is a really awesome build. I made some slight adjustments though. You say not to focus on action skill duration but I think that’s a bad idea. The reason I say this is because if you keep your action skills active longer, either using Borrowed Time or Good Misfortune, you can then keep the bonuses from Synchronicity and Supersonic Man even longer. These bonuses can help you keep getting kills and renewing your kill skills. Using the action skills as simple kill skill refreshers seems kind of wasteful. Especially with the bonuses you can get from having them up. Additionally, if you have a infiltrator class mod rolled with bonuses to Supersonic Man, it becomes even better. I also use a rough rider with the sprint prefix. This give me a constant 10% movement speed increase and I always have the special bonuses from infiltrator since my shield is depleted using the rough rider. Violent Momentum then picks up bonuses as I zip around the battlefield. The action skills have more use than a refresh button for the kill skills. I put a point into Seein’ Red also but I don’t focus on it as the crux of the build. Infiltrator with +3 to Supersonic Man can increase your movement speed by 48% with both action skills active. Not saying your build is trash but I don’t think wasting the action skills is a very good idea.
I forgot to say in my original comment but the augments I use for the clone are digital distribution and which ones real. These give you a good way to either keep the enemies from shooting at you or sharing the damage to your clone. You’ll always share damage with the clone since you don’t have a shield from rough rider. Which ones real just helps keep the gunfire off of you since you’ll be so squishy without a shield. My drone augments are bad dose and either static field or booms day. Bad dose gives you buffs to movement speed fire rate so that’s really good for this build. The second augment is really up to you but I think booms day is the best. This is because static field is good for shield damage but a simple shock weapon can solve this while booms day is a nice little buff to your drones damage. Like I said though, the second augment really is up to you as long as you have bad dose as your first augment.

Guns: Any you like Grenade: Any you like Shield: Rough Rider (preferably with the “Sprint” prefix) Artifact: Anything that boost either movement speed or max health (I personally use the “Grave” artifact from Graveward for the bonuses that you get when your health is at certain points) Class Mod: Infiltrator (version with +3 to Supersonic Man) I know you only asked for skills but I thought it’d help anybody else that saw this so I put the gear on here too. This is the outline for my build though. There are points you can change here and there but this is my personal favorite version so far. Once you get all your movement speed bonuses at once, you are just insanely fast. This extremely high movement speed can help you maneuver your clone around too. Also when it comes to guns I’d use something that doesn’t require too much accuracy. Shotguns, mashers, or The Infinity are really good choices.

Tbh as soon as i got the skill that gives your clone a copy of your weapon, I just started using him all the time and keeping my shield skill up and he's been slaying
All the footage is from mayhem 2, eventhough you say you are playing mayhem 3. Also I wouldnt suggest the victory rush artifact, it seems bugged. I never gain the buff eventhough I only solo.
In my time as a Zane main I've come to the conclusion that Zane seems to be heavily reliant on the modifiers in Mayem to be overwhelmingly positive to do much of anything, whereas with all my other characters, namely FL4K and Moze, I can pretty much waltz through Mayhem 3 without much in the way of concern for the modifiers. Zane has the potential to be extremely top tier when it comes to endgame, I think he just needs either a buff or level cap increase to fully realize it.
Yeah seriously, 100% of my friends play Flak and Amara, feels like nobody wants to give Zane any respect. Maybe because he's an older character? Flak is a robot with pets, Amara and Moze are basically fanservice and Zane is just.. an old guy who is a Flynt brother and his brothers were low tier bosses in prior BL games. Zane is massively underrated!!

Hey Ryan, this is a thought out reply, please read and possibly respond haha! Have you thought of the infinite up-time Digiclone build? I don't know if others have made it before, but I came up with it after picking up the Rough Rider shield. Rough Rider grants (me) 23% damage reduction, and +35% max health, but gives you zero shields. The zero shields is the catalyst for the first part of the build. I use the legendary Zane class mod "Infiltrator" which gives additional weapon damage and movement speed lower the shield is. As Zane, you need "Calm, Cool, Collected", 5th tier passive under Barrier skill tree. This passive has a chance to reset cooldowns if your health is full. I think when With "Rise to the Occasion", you gain natural health regen when your shield is broken/lowered, and if you have a grenade with Terror modifier on it that generates stacks of terror over 18 seconds, that'll also activate after using a skill.
You should make a video on the alchemist + transformer combo and its infinite shield regen. The basic idea is the alchemist deals shock damage to you when firing, and the transformer turns 100% of shock damage to shields. Found it very effective against bosses with fl4k.
Hey, So when it comes to Charged Relay, it says you get the buff when you touch the barrier, is picking it up counts as touching? When you run with the barrier around you, is the buff constant? As for Double Barrel, it says you get extra DMG when swapping places. For how long? 10 seconds? First shot? On the lighter side of things, what type of weapon you like giving your clone? Oh yea, also, it says when you pick up shield the bonus of the action skill decreases, by how much? And does it also decreases the bonuses from the augments? Anyone? Cheers.
I've been running something close enough to this with my friends who say Zane doesn't compare to the other VHs. Meanwhile I'll carry them through Slaughter Star 3000 while they're all dead.
Cryo is just as effective as Corrosive at tearing apart armor (slow/freeze rather than DoT though), not counting mayhem mods. Zane is also better synergy with cryo than any other element. The arctic night hawkin is a great weapon on him for ripping armor apart
End game specs are often defrent from leveling skill builds. Imo there is nothing wrong in what you focus on as you level up to 50 and complete the storie as you can beat the games storie and reach level cap without spending a single skill point 😊
Ryan: Zane doesn’t have very good gear and feels very restricted in what he can do, unlike other characters who can make basically any gun work Ryan in his next Zane video: that’s the good thing about Zane he can make any gun work
@@robingoodfellow8963 you can tell if its MH1, MH2 or MH3 by the skull down at the exp bar and kill skills, and it shows MH1. Some people say its a bug or a glitch but that is not true, its just claiming to be on MH3 when he is not. Besides before the patch 1.02 the so called hitman was worse than freeze zane, after the patch i will still say that freeze zane is better overall. If the skull that shows the MH1 did bug out he would have opened the map so we could see the modifiers as MH1 only has 2 modifiers but MH3 has alot more, enemie also gain more health, shield and armor for each MH level and you can see that when you open up the map.
FoxyRaven-TV yeah, thanks, I was very much well aware of all of that already. I’m saying that it is not showing as Mayhem 1, it is actually showing as Mayhem 2. Go back and check what each looks like. MH1 is a skull in a diamond. MH2, the diamond has an extra embellishment on the bottom corner. MH3, the two side corners also have said embellishment. The footage he is showing is clearly of Mayhem 2. Yes, he said it was Mayhem 3, and it is not, but neither is it Mayhem 1. That’s what I was denying. If you’re going to criticise, do it with facts, not hyperbole.
Awesome build Ryan. But It seems that on ps4, kill skills are bugged. Sometimes my kill skills dont all proc. Even when using Seeing Red. But then other times it does work. I also have a problem with my clone cooldown rate. When i use Doppelbanger, i cant get my clone back before my kill skills run out. The 5 second times starts just as the kill skills end. Whats weird is when i first tried this build it worked, now it doesnt for some reason. Do you use any reduce cooldown rate gear? Am i missing something?
The Rough Rider build is so much fun, I was a FL4K main until everything got nerfed and I lost interest in him but now with this build, I just enjoy it so much so, thank you! I've also tried out a Cryo build that's pretty tanky that's also quite nice but, more challenging I find with bad affixes but is still manageable but also rewarding compared to any other VH's I've played...I F***ING LOVE ZANE!
My cryo build is the only one that seems viable and even then I can’t do anything on Mayhem 3, idk about this video because I just don’t hurt the enemies with the exact same build
I’ve tried so much shit on Zane and nothing seems to work as effectively as the other characters. And the build in this video also isn’t that affective if you notice he’s not really doing that much damage.
I agree. Been grinding like crazy and trying many different builds on zane and nothing is comparable to the point and click master fl4k. Zanes class mods are pretty bad as well
Ddldidd I figured it out: grind for some great legendaries (I.e. Night Hawkin), then get a legendary artifact with Frozen boosts, then equip Cryo turret with you normal cryo stuff on the green tree MOST IMPORTANTLY: check the current Mayhem 3 modifiers and adjust weapons accordingly to shred them, if there’s no beneficial modifiers just reload
Thanks for the build. I'm going to try it out. I've been using clone and shield -- just stuff I thought seemed decent while leveling. It can be pretty underwhelming at times on Mayhem 3. On a side note, you can get Lasersploder in other elements. I have a cryo one. I've been searching for a fire one on PS4.
@@lankylemon8555 The sheer amount of burst damage 4 annointed tinks do will kill you, or maybe I got unlucky with the spawns. I was able to get to wave 4 but even with 40% hp/s regen I was dying.
To be honest moze is an excellent character to play I think out of all the borderlands I've played she is by far the funnest to play if your not playing mayham 3 and just playing the game you have more than enough time to use her much to the full potential. It was no different with krieg in op8 borderlands 2 . it's how it is the harder modes catch up to your skills
Yup moze is fun, and she is good to use on mayhem 3. I have a build for bosses and adds. So she is good overall. I am glad they finally gave the solider charcter some good skills, especially after being a axton main on bl2 and he was such a weak character late game.
Man... I'm having trouble getting Zane to do good damage, compared to Moze and Fl4k... For the Hitman focus builds tried a bunch combinations but none really worked out, like it seems the build I am looking for is heavily dependent on the exactly right gear. Hell, even your build showcase is on mayhem 2... So far been using Double-Agent + Undercover build that abuses "Cool calm and collected" so you basically have nearly constant 2 skill uptime, but digi-clone is really dumb: aims at enemies "in general" often missing crit spots, seem to do less damage than I am per shot, shooting waaay slower than I am or not shooting at all as if Boom Enhance isn't even there and only consumes grenades! To make it worse, despite seemingly good base damage boost (total around 75% just from skills, 100% if shooting through barrier plus whatever damage buffed up digi-clone does) the build has very obvious damage output cap and obnoxiously strict requirements, so when fighting "tougher" enemies or bosses the build is inconsistent, and even averagely bad rolls on mayhem 3 debuffs can make fights drag. I'll see how this changes when I finally get "Rough Rider" (supposedly it's 0 shields counts both as depleted and full at the same time, so skills like "Adrenaline", "Rise to the occasion", "Confident compitance" and "Cool, Calm Collected" should be at 100% at all times) and get rid of luck enhancing relic.
I don't know if you have the clone capstone, but it's called double barrel, gives your clone a copy of your gun. If you put on a COV launcher your clone does some pretty decent damage
I like using the shield loop of 4NG3L since when the shield breaks it decreases the action skill cool down and it pairs well with the class mod that instantly breaks your shield.
A few question with this. I don’t see the point in any of the grenade skills (drone dropping one, shooting one, and clone one). It seems those point could be better utilized for more speed and damage. Also, if you’re playing solo, why not opt for the longer durations? You’re getting all the kills so you shouldn’t need the hitman capstone to activate your skills and you can use the drones bonuses (specifically the radiation one) for more damage for a longer span. Plus you have a flat 40% increase in damages for having them out. As a side note, I really hope they buff him for bosses. He really underperforms but I don’t want to stop playing him because the running and gunning is super satisfying
I was wondering the same thing, if not having long up time of skills is the goal then stuff like synchronicity seems like a waste as it is only a benefit if action skills are active.
hellboundspectre yeah it’s conflicting ideals. It doesn’t make sense. Now that they buffed his action skills, should be better to have them up as long as possible. The group set up makes more sense since you aren’t getting all the kills (still don’t care for the grenade skills) so being able to activate them via action skill is nice. However, the solo build can be optimized a whole lot

I was running a digi clone/shield build and just sitting in the back sniping and letting the digi clone do most of the work... this looks insane. Of course I'd need all these weapons and mods and shit that you have farmed up... :3
I got a legendary class mod that breaks your shields on action skill activation, paired that with an anointed operative shield that increases your speed by 15% with STNL active plus 10% on shield break . Just need a good shot gun now
David Tomlinson my fav is the Butcher. 10 shot, >10 rps super accurate Hyperion shotgun that has a chance to add a random amount of shots to your mag every shot. So much fun
You're close, but not quite there for a perfect solo build - couple big mistakes here: - Firstly, it's absolutely mental not to have 5/5 in violent momentum. That effect stacks as you run, and between violent speed and supersonic man you've put 7 points into things that make you move faster, while not taking full advantage of free gun damage available from moving faster - huh? Really? - Secondly, why in god's name would you put 5/5 into cool hand and leave playing dirty empty? Reload speed of +21% (whoop dee doo), versus a 70% chance to shoot an extra shot with every bullet? What the eff are you doing? Maxing playing dirty out and having death follows close means for every 10 bullets you shoot, you're actually going to shoot 7 additional bullets FOR FREE. Why reload faster when you can just shoot 70% more bullets before reloading? Why is everyone sleeping on this skill??? it seems to be consistently ignored in all the build videos I see. It's high in the skill tree for a good reason. - In the clone tree, you've wasted 6 points on Fractal Frags and duct tape mod. If you're throwing out your clone and blowing him up pre-fight and as often as possible after, why TF would you spend valuable skill points making him throw grenades when he's mostly not in the fight? And why spend so many skill points to make your gun rarely shoot a grenade and leave mountains of gun damage on the table via violent momentum? And even then, you've taken BOOM. ENHANCE., which needs the grenades to make your clone stronger, and then you're randomly firing grenades out of your gun and clone to deplete that inventory! My advice: 1) Swap the 5 skill points in Cool hand over into playing dirty. 2) Pull the 5 skill points out of Duct tape mod, put 2 into violent momentum, and 3 into Praemunitus for better mag size. With a bigger mag and shooting 1.7X as many bullets, you won't miss the 21% reload speed from cool hand, trust me - you'll melt through enemies fast enough that you'll have time to reload. 4) Move a point from pocket full of grenades to supersonic man - That one point gives you +4% movement speed per action skill. If you have both out, that's 8% faster, which factors into violent momentum again to stack for more gun damage. 15% grenade regen is nice, but 10% honestly probably does the trick. 3) You'll have 2 points left that you need to use early in the doubled agent tree if you want to hit "boom enhance", so I recommend a point into quick breather, as this can be pretty useful in certain scenarios - imagine you have a huge shield with a long recharge delay, you drop your clone behind a wall, run directly into a fight with all your kill skills now active, then once your shield is down you swap with the clone, your shield is now recharging instantly, you blow up the clone to restart his action skill timer, then you run back into the fight and toss out your sentinel and keep shooting, you've done a ton of damage and are still unscathed - now, by the time your kill skills start to run out and the crowd is thinning, your clone will be ready to toss out again to reactivate them. The final point is a throwaway, so you could take fractal frags if you want, but I prefer to keep the grenades in inventory for the boom enhance clone buffs, so I stuck it into borrowed time, I figure a 4% action skill duration won't be noticable anyway.
Wait, you’ve wasted multiple points into grenade skills... why? Doesn’t having 2 action skills make grenades completely irrelevant? And considering that your digi-clone isn’t alive for 99% of the time it’s up, it wouldn’t even have the chance to throw a grenade out... Am I missing something or did he waste skill points with grenade skills?? Plz respond I’m really confused on this.

Zane is a worse version of Axton from BL2. If you're looking for a viable end-game run and gun character, consider Moze. You can create excellent DPS builds without having to invest into Iron Bear.
Should Jakobs users spec into Playing Dirty instead of Violent Violence? I get the fire rate buffs are really good to have but wouldn't the extra projectiles increase DPS too? I personally like using Jakobs with Zane so the fire rate boosts are probably wasted on my Zane
I hadn't heard of that Twitch Rivals competition, but that would have been terrible if you had those characters all decked out ready to start, then logged in to load the character up and it was nowhere to be found. That's the kind of greatness Borderlands 3 has brought to lots of people and myself. Yesterday, I logged in to load a character and 2 out of my 3 vault hunters were just GONE. Vanished. Save files for them no longer in the folder. This game has turned out to be one big joke.
Im not seeing the 100% skill up time here.Ryan you are not specced into the Barrier which means no capstone for skill up time in solo or group. What am I missing? I see it now, Dopplebanger completely missed it, sorry.
FL4K: I can run a crit build that devastates any enemy Moze: I can use a mech and deal tons of splash damage and have bottomless mags Zane: yeah I can go Mach 1 and fucking murder everything
If you don’t need to worry about having quick cooldowns in solo since you get kills wouldn’t you want to invest in the talents that increase action skill duration. Like you said yourself you can keep them out for as long as you want and having them out longer gives you a larger widow for maximum dps
You mentioned when talking about bad dose that radiation is good against armour but it is actually pretty bad against armour and shields but ok against flesh.
In your double agent tree you don't really need to upgrade your grenade regen in group play it might be better to increase mag size I also use the moar pain is power with the sheild that recharges to full to great effect in group play definitely helps having a gun that does not stop shooting till you run out of ammo
It's just a shame that her Iron Bear needs its armor tripled to handle Mayhem. Her grenade/explosive spam build is certainly powerful in its own right. Iron Bear becomes more of an 'oh, crap, I need a moment to turn tail and run' button past the story playthroughs.
Try my build see if you like it I’ve hardly ever seen anyone run it but I’m in love with it. Basically all the normal hitman skills and the two top left Digi skills and then put 5 the shield recharge and delay skill and 5 in the skill that reduces duration of your skills the more your shield is up and 1 in the middle skill of barrier that gives more dmg the higher your shield. How this works is with the artifact that grants you full shields and 1 health. Since your shield delay and recharge rate are high as hell you don’t need health or the life steal and your barriers protects you while giving you so many buffs. Everybody hates on the barrier I very much love it. Also use Torgue weapons they make it so much easy for me my favorite is the double penetrating boring gun
@@neg4t1vezer04 You disconnect the wifi and go in offline mode as to load the game a lot faster and smoother. Basically helps you to farm a boss quicker.
I planned this build out when the skill trees were released on the website (the solo one) and have been running it in game. It is incredibly good but I thought it would absolutely broken when planing it out. I'm still finding gear that enhances it so who knows, maybe it will be as as broken as I thought it would be when I get the perfect gear.
Yes but when you blow up the clone your kill skill goes away with it also .So I am confused ? Why not just have the clone up for as long as it can be up then use the sentinal then the clone after sentinal ect...
Hey Ryan, Another Zane Main here. Here's an idea. Drop Boom Enhance and replace the clone explode mod with the taunt mod. Since the clone copies your shield mod, if you're running the rough rider build the clone will be weak as hell. Taunt will get the clone insta gibbed going right back on cooldown. Then you don't have to do the annoying hold x to explode thing. Site Note: I run Radation Hex Grenade + the Radation bonus damage Artifact if I don't think I'll take crazy damage and need the 18% heal artifact.
I've been so disappointed with Zane but I've kept on playing him and testing out different builds, I was finally ready to give up on him after today and start FL4K but then I found this video and now I'm destroying all of the enemies on MH3. I always thought destroying the digi-clone sounded so bizarre so I never tried it out, but it kicks ass! Thanks a ton.
Hey Ryan! This build works incredibly well with the new terror gimmick. There are grenades and shields that start applying terror to players when action skills end; just find one of that and use whatever decent gun with terror anointments. For me, I have a Backham with that effect, a grenade that boosts fire rate and damage, another grenade that provides health regen, a NightHawking that regen ammo, and a Q-system that shoots more projectiles. (All these are anointment effects that activate when I have terror on me) These buffs are really really strong, and you can stack tons of terror by blowing up the Digi-clone.
im kinda surprised no one is talking about the grenade mod "Its Piss". For builds that dont focus on nades, its a realy good utility grenade AND it has realy good synergy for group play. seems like a good option for this build IMO
not sure if this is the "best" build for general mobbing but it's certainly the most fun i've seen so far and im gona be doing all the challanges side quests on this. Farming bosses i still find myself swapping out Drone entirely and just pipe bombing stuff. Moze can simply boss farm on M3 with a hex or stormfront, flak can do it ... by default and amara can do it once she gets a face puncher for melee amara and i've heard ele amara can do it as well. Zane... i've yet to see a zane build that can take Grave / Tyreen on M3 in under a minute without the bomb.
Wouldn't it help a lot to have the activate cooldown talent faster skill on the left side of the first tier of the green tree? You'd have to sacrifice from one of the other trees tho. edit: and clearly I hadn't finished the video cus you just covered that hahaahah :D
@@darksungwyndolin9977 I know. Which is how I know it doesnt work. Rough rider sets your shield to 0, meaning 0 shield is also max shield. You get no bonus from infiltrator.
hhhhhmmm, if you keep summoning and destroying your clones, should zane be fine for bosses? seen as after you destroy the clone after its been deployed, it has a very short cd? so wont your kill skills be up all the time anyways?
Why do you take A Pocket Full of Grenades when you are equipping two action skills for your solo build. Regenerating grenades isnt needed since you arent throwing any.
I'd love a step by step list of the best way to spend your points as you play to get this build (I.e. at lvl 2 pick action skill x first, then at lvl 3 pick perk y, etc.). This is exactly the kind of build I had planned for my Zane, but came to the wide world webs for some pointers on how to best go about it--which led me here. You actually gave me a slightly better run list, seeing how a few perks worked better than what I was originally planning to do! Amara was my first character (I play her coop with the hubby & his Fl4k), Zane is going to be my solo boy.
The lazersploder comes in a lot of elements, I finally just got a cryo one to drop for me. I'm playing a more tanky zane, honestly doesnt do too bad with the right weapons

This has to be the best build for Zane, and it's so much fun!! I'm absolutely shredding everything, I have this Stranger Things SMG and another SMG with Radiation damage and about 20% smg damage from an artifact. Nothing stands a chance xD
I like Zane more than the other vault hunters. But I also think that he still needs a bit of love from gearbox and a few tweeks. Especially item wise.
I feel like they need to give him some way to activate kill skills even if he doesn't get the last hit, with out the clone abuse.
His kill skills and tree needs to get buffed.

Zane is absolutely bonkers he just needs more investment to shine where fl4k can take 2 augments, one action skill, and any Jacob's and Is beast mode. I think as people find better rolled class mods with the right attribute rolls+skill tree points Zane builds will become some of the best. not to mention his annointed bonuses are insanely strong.
It's not that zane is bad really, it's that fl4k's burst is so overtuned at the moment... I have all hunters finished and fl4k is by far the stupidest in that regard, 3 shotting a grave is honestly just ridiculous, it shouldn't be allowed. Zane is still really fun though and does have nice consistent dps! I just feel he needs more active control personally.

@@silverfox9107 dude everyone can do huge damage that's why this game is so sick my Amara phasegraspes enemy's and the enemy that is phasegraspes takes bonus damage also after the enemy dies it seeks out and debuffs other enemy's and trapping anyone around in the precess. It's all about stacking your skills.

High speed Zane is a really awesome build. I made some slight adjustments though. You say not to focus on action skill duration but I think that’s a bad idea. The reason I say this is because if you keep your action skills active longer, either using Borrowed Time or Good Misfortune, you can then keep the bonuses from Synchronicity and Supersonic Man even longer. These bonuses can help you keep getting kills and renewing your kill skills. Using the action skills as simple kill skill refreshers seems kind of wasteful. Especially with the bonuses you can get from having them up. Additionally, if you have a infiltrator class mod rolled with bonuses to Supersonic Man, it becomes even better. I also use a rough rider with the sprint prefix. This give me a constant 10% movement speed increase and I always have the special bonuses from infiltrator since my shield is depleted using the rough rider. Violent Momentum then picks up bonuses as I zip around the battlefield. The action skills have more use than a refresh button for the kill skills. I put a point into Seein’ Red also but I don’t focus on it as the crux of the build. Infiltrator with +3 to Supersonic Man can increase your movement speed by 48% with both action skills active. Not saying your build is trash but I don’t think wasting the action skills is a very good idea.
I forgot to say in my original comment but the augments I use for the clone are digital distribution and which ones real. These give you a good way to either keep the enemies from shooting at you or sharing the damage to your clone. You’ll always share damage with the clone since you don’t have a shield from rough rider. Which ones real just helps keep the gunfire off of you since you’ll be so squishy without a shield. My drone augments are bad dose and either static field or booms day. Bad dose gives you buffs to movement speed fire rate so that’s really good for this build. The second augment is really up to you but I think booms day is the best. This is because static field is good for shield damage but a simple shock weapon can solve this while booms day is a nice little buff to your drones damage. Like I said though, the second augment really is up to you as long as you have bad dose as your first augment.

I know you only asked for skills but I thought it’d help anybody else that saw this so I put the gear on here too. This is the outline for my build though. There are points you can change here and there but this is my personal favorite version so far. Once you get all your movement speed bonuses at once, you are just insanely fast. This extremely high movement speed can help you maneuver your clone around too. Also when it comes to guns I’d use something that doesn’t require too much accuracy. Shotguns, mashers, or The Infinity are really good choices.

I love speeding around with Zane, I struggled with him early then actually started grinding for gear and got a lot better a lot quicker.
Same... Early on he feels so "meh". He is definitely a late bloomer, and REALLY gear dependent. But that doesn't make him bad.

All the footage is from mayhem 2, eventhough you say you are playing mayhem 3. Also I wouldnt suggest the victory rush artifact, it seems bugged. I never gain the buff eventhough I only solo.

In my time as a Zane main I've come to the conclusion that Zane seems to be heavily reliant on the modifiers in Mayem to be overwhelmingly positive to do much of anything, whereas with all my other characters, namely FL4K and Moze, I can pretty much waltz through Mayhem 3 without much in the way of concern for the modifiers.
Zane has the potential to be extremely top tier when it comes to endgame, I think he just needs either a buff or level cap increase to fully realize it.

Flak is a robot with pets, Amara and Moze are basically fanservice and Zane is just.. an old guy who is a Flynt brother and his brothers were low tier bosses in prior BL games. Zane is massively underrated!!

Have you thought of the infinite up-time Digiclone build? I don't know if others have made it before, but I came up with it after picking up the Rough Rider shield.
Rough Rider grants (me) 23% damage reduction, and +35% max health, but gives you zero shields. The zero shields is the catalyst for the first part of the build. I use the legendary Zane class mod "Infiltrator" which gives additional weapon damage and movement speed lower the shield is. As Zane, you need "Calm, Cool, Collected", 5th tier passive under Barrier skill tree. This passive has a chance to reset cooldowns if your health is full. I think when
With "Rise to the Occasion", you gain natural health regen when your shield is broken/lowered, and if you have a grenade with Terror modifier on it that generates stacks of terror over 18 seconds, that'll also activate after using a skill.

You should make a video on the alchemist + transformer combo and its infinite shield regen. The basic idea is the alchemist deals shock damage to you when firing, and the transformer turns 100% of shock damage to shields. Found it very effective against bosses with fl4k.

So when it comes to Charged Relay, it says you get the buff when you touch the barrier, is picking it up counts as touching? When you run with the barrier around you, is the buff constant?
As for Double Barrel, it says you get extra DMG when swapping places. For how long? 10 seconds? First shot?

Cryo is just as effective as Corrosive at tearing apart armor (slow/freeze rather than DoT though), not counting mayhem mods. Zane is also better synergy with cryo than any other element. The arctic night hawkin is a great weapon on him for ripping armor apart
they should add a class mod meant specifically for this type of build - call it the "speed-funner"

I wish there was more info on which skill to spec in to first, or which tree to prioritize first.
End game specs are often defrent from leveling skill builds. Imo there is nothing wrong in what you focus on as you level up to 50 and complete the storie as you can beat the games storie and reach level cap without spending a single skill point 😊

@@robingoodfellow8963 you can tell if its MH1, MH2 or MH3 by the skull down at the exp bar and kill skills, and it shows MH1.
Some people say its a bug or a glitch but that is not true, its just claiming to be on MH3 when he is not. Besides before the patch 1.02 the so called hitman was worse than freeze zane, after the patch i will still say that freeze zane is better overall.
If the skull that shows the MH1 did bug out he would have opened the map so we could see the modifiers as MH1 only has 2 modifiers but MH3 has alot more, enemie also gain more health, shield and armor for each MH level and you can see that when you open up the map.
FoxyRaven-TV yeah, thanks, I was very much well aware of all of that already. I’m saying that it is not showing as Mayhem 1, it is actually showing as Mayhem 2. Go back and check what each looks like. MH1 is a skull in a diamond. MH2, the diamond has an extra embellishment on the bottom corner. MH3, the two side corners also have said embellishment. The footage he is showing is clearly of Mayhem 2. Yes, he said it was Mayhem 3, and it is not, but neither is it Mayhem 1. That’s what I was denying. If you’re going to criticise, do it with facts, not hyperbole.

Awesome build Ryan. But It seems that on ps4, kill skills are bugged. Sometimes my kill skills dont all proc. Even when using Seeing Red. But then other times it does work. I also have a problem with my clone cooldown rate. When i use Doppelbanger, i cant get my clone back before my kill skills run out. The 5 second times starts just as the kill skills end. Whats weird is when i first tried this build it worked, now it doesnt for some reason. Do you use any reduce cooldown rate gear? Am i missing something?

The Rough Rider build is so much fun, I was a FL4K main until everything got nerfed and I lost interest in him but now with this build, I just enjoy it so much so, thank you!
I've also tried out a Cryo build that's pretty tanky that's also quite nice but, more challenging I find with bad affixes but is still manageable but also rewarding compared to any other VH's I've played...I F***ING LOVE ZANE!

I agree. Been grinding like crazy and trying many different builds on zane and nothing is comparable to the point and click master fl4k. Zanes class mods are pretty bad as well
A Quest Called Music my amara melee build is 30x better than any Zane build. I think that says enough 😂😂
Ddldidd I figured it out: grind for some great legendaries (I.e. Night Hawkin), then get a legendary artifact with Frozen boosts, then equip Cryo turret with you normal cryo stuff on the green tree
MOST IMPORTANTLY: check the current Mayhem 3 modifiers and adjust weapons accordingly to shred them, if there’s no beneficial modifiers just reload
Thanks for the build. I'm going to try it out. I've been using clone and shield -- just stuff I thought seemed decent while leveling. It can be pretty underwhelming at times on Mayhem 3. On a side note, you can get Lasersploder in other elements. I have a cryo one. I've been searching for a fire one on PS4.

To be honest moze is an excellent character to play I think out of all the borderlands I've played she is by far the funnest to play if your not playing mayham 3 and just playing the game you have more than enough time to use her much to the full potential. It was no different with krieg in op8 borderlands 2 . it's how it is the harder modes catch up to your skills
Yup moze is fun, and she is good to use on mayhem 3. I have a build for bosses and adds. So she is good overall. I am glad they finally gave the solider charcter some good skills, especially after being a axton main on bl2 and he was such a weak character late game.
I can confirm with the right gear this build is viable in mayhem 3.

That's the thing. I've been running a similar build I like more and on mayhem three it's almost impossible to melt . We need a Zane buff sadly.
Man... I'm having trouble getting Zane to do good damage, compared to Moze and Fl4k...
For the Hitman focus builds tried a bunch combinations but none really worked out, like it seems the build I am looking for is heavily dependent on the exactly right gear. Hell, even your build showcase is on mayhem 2...
So far been using Double-Agent + Undercover build that abuses "Cool calm and collected" so you basically have nearly constant 2 skill uptime, but digi-clone is really dumb: aims at enemies "in general" often missing crit spots, seem to do less damage than I am per shot, shooting waaay slower than I am or not shooting at all as if Boom Enhance isn't even there and only consumes grenades!
To make it worse, despite seemingly good base damage boost (total around 75% just from skills, 100% if shooting through barrier plus whatever damage buffed up digi-clone does) the build has very obvious damage output cap and obnoxiously strict requirements, so when fighting "tougher" enemies or bosses the build is inconsistent, and even averagely bad rolls on mayhem 3 debuffs can make fights drag.
I'll see how this changes when I finally get "Rough Rider" (supposedly it's 0 shields counts both as depleted and full at the same time, so skills like "Adrenaline", "Rise to the occasion", "Confident compitance" and "Cool, Calm Collected" should be at 100% at all times) and get rid of luck enhancing relic.
I don't know if you have the clone capstone, but it's called double barrel, gives your clone a copy of your gun. If you put on a COV launcher your clone does some pretty decent damage
Last I checked, radiation did bonus damage to shields, not armor (in TVHM), and Cryo was the one that did bonus damage vs armor. Has this changed?
Ive been using drone and barrier. The barrier just feels so nice! Plus it has great perks. Clone and drone seems like higher DPS though
I like using the shield loop of 4NG3L since when the shield breaks it decreases the action skill cool down and it pairs well with the class mod that instantly breaks your shield.
The weapons that i run is a hellwalker,companion,brainstormer and a roisen thorn is it great?
A few question with this. I don’t see the point in any of the grenade skills (drone dropping one, shooting one, and clone one). It seems those point could be better utilized for more speed and damage. Also, if you’re playing solo, why not opt for the longer durations? You’re getting all the kills so you shouldn’t need the hitman capstone to activate your skills and you can use the drones bonuses (specifically the radiation one) for more damage for a longer span. Plus you have a flat 40% increase in damages for having them out.
As a side note, I really hope they buff him for bosses. He really underperforms but I don’t want to stop playing him because the running and gunning is super satisfying
I was wondering the same thing, if not having long up time of skills is the goal then stuff like synchronicity seems like a waste as it is only a benefit if action skills are active.
hellboundspectre yeah it’s conflicting ideals. It doesn’t make sense. Now that they buffed his action skills, should be better to have them up as long as possible. The group set up makes more sense since you aren’t getting all the kills (still don’t care for the grenade skills) so being able to activate them via action skill is nice. However, the solo build can be optimized a whole lot

I got a legendary class mod that breaks your shields on action skill activation, paired that with an anointed operative shield that increases your speed by 15% with STNL active plus 10% on shield break . Just need a good shot gun now

You're close, but not quite there for a perfect solo build - couple big mistakes here:
- Firstly, it's absolutely mental not to have 5/5 in violent momentum. That effect stacks as you run, and between violent speed and supersonic man you've put 7 points into things that make you move faster, while not taking full advantage of free gun damage available from moving faster - huh? Really?
- Secondly, why in god's name would you put 5/5 into cool hand and leave playing dirty empty? Reload speed of +21% (whoop dee doo), versus a 70% chance to shoot an extra shot with every bullet? What the eff are you doing? Maxing playing dirty out and having death follows close means for every 10 bullets you shoot, you're actually going to shoot 7 additional bullets FOR FREE. Why reload faster when you can just shoot 70% more bullets before reloading? Why is everyone sleeping on this skill??? it seems to be consistently ignored in all the build videos I see. It's high in the skill tree for a good reason.
- In the clone tree, you've wasted 6 points on Fractal Frags and duct tape mod. If you're throwing out your clone and blowing him up pre-fight and as often as possible after, why TF would you spend valuable skill points making him throw grenades when he's mostly not in the fight? And why spend so many skill points to make your gun rarely shoot a grenade and leave mountains of gun damage on the table via violent momentum? And even then, you've taken BOOM. ENHANCE., which needs the grenades to make your clone stronger, and then you're randomly firing grenades out of your gun and clone to deplete that inventory!
My advice:
1) Swap the 5 skill points in Cool hand over into playing dirty.
2) Pull the 5 skill points out of Duct tape mod, put 2 into violent momentum, and 3 into Praemunitus for better mag size. With a bigger mag and shooting 1.7X as many bullets, you won't miss the 21% reload speed from cool hand, trust me - you'll melt through enemies fast enough that you'll have time to reload.
4) Move a point from pocket full of grenades to supersonic man - That one point gives you +4% movement speed per action skill. If you have both out, that's 8% faster, which factors into violent momentum again to stack for more gun damage. 15% grenade regen is nice, but 10% honestly probably does the trick.
3) You'll have 2 points left that you need to use early in the doubled agent tree if you want to hit "boom enhance", so I recommend a point into quick breather, as this can be pretty useful in certain scenarios - imagine you have a huge shield with a long recharge delay, you drop your clone behind a wall, run directly into a fight with all your kill skills now active, then once your shield is down you swap with the clone, your shield is now recharging instantly, you blow up the clone to restart his action skill timer, then you run back into the fight and toss out your sentinel and keep shooting, you've done a ton of damage and are still unscathed - now, by the time your kill skills start to run out and the crowd is thinning, your clone will be ready to toss out again to reactivate them. The final point is a throwaway, so you could take fractal frags if you want, but I prefer to keep the grenades in inventory for the boom enhance clone buffs, so I stuck it into borrowed time, I figure a 4% action skill duration won't be noticable anyway.
Wait, you’ve wasted multiple points into grenade skills... why? Doesn’t having 2 action skills make grenades completely irrelevant? And considering that your digi-clone isn’t alive for 99% of the time it’s up, it wouldn’t even have the chance to throw a grenade out... Am I missing something or did he waste skill points with grenade skills?? Plz respond I’m really confused on this.
I said this before and I’ll say it again, keep this shit up and you’re gonna be huge in this community (even more so then you already are) your guides are very in-depth and provide a lot of clarity I’ve never even played Zane and I feel like You made me figure him out 200%
Zane is a worse version of Axton from BL2. If you're looking for a viable end-game run and gun character, consider Moze. You can create excellent DPS builds without having to invest into Iron Bear.

Should Jakobs users spec into Playing Dirty instead of Violent Violence? I get the fire rate buffs are really good to have but wouldn't the extra projectiles increase DPS too? I personally like using Jakobs with Zane so the fire rate boosts are probably wasted on my Zane
I hadn't heard of that Twitch Rivals competition, but that would have been terrible if you had those characters all decked out ready to start, then logged in to load the character up and it was nowhere to be found. That's the kind of greatness Borderlands 3 has brought to lots of people and myself. Yesterday, I logged in to load a character and 2 out of my 3 vault hunters were just GONE. Vanished. Save files for them no longer in the folder. This game has turned out to be one big joke.
bad experience on a new game. i can say that this game does not suck however. this game is everything BL2 needed and it’s the best imo in the series

Im not seeing the 100% skill up time here.Ryan you are not specced into the Barrier which means no capstone for skill up time in solo or group. What am I missing? I see it now, Dopplebanger completely missed it, sorry.
FL4K: I can run a crit build that devastates any enemy
Moze: I can use a mech and deal tons of splash damage and have bottomless mags
Zane: yeah I can go Mach 1 and fucking murder everything
If you don’t need to worry about having quick cooldowns in solo since you get kills wouldn’t you want to invest in the talents that increase action skill duration. Like you said yourself you can keep them out for as long as you want and having them out longer gives you a larger widow for maximum dps

Zane is fucking painful at low level. Getting to sanctuary was so boring. His abilities are super lame and at low level you have boring guns. Ugh.

You mentioned when talking about bad dose that radiation is good against armour but it is actually pretty bad against armour and shields but ok against flesh.
In your double agent tree you don't really need to upgrade your grenade regen in group play it might be better to increase mag size I also use the moar pain is power with the sheild that recharges to full to great effect in group play definitely helps having a gun that does not stop shooting till you run out of ammo
Moze became the most hyped character to the least hyped character
It's just a shame that her Iron Bear needs its armor tripled to handle Mayhem. Her grenade/explosive spam build is certainly powerful in its own right. Iron Bear becomes more of an 'oh, crap, I need a moment to turn tail and run' button past the story playthroughs.
Since this is a run and gun type of build, do you think it'd work with shotguns too?

what's your best proving grounds TVHM/T3 time with this build so far? My endgame (max damage) zane build current best is under 7minutes.
Try my build see if you like it I’ve hardly ever seen anyone run it but I’m in love with it.
Basically all the normal hitman skills and the two top left Digi skills and then put 5 the shield recharge and delay skill and 5 in the skill that reduces duration of your skills the more your shield is up and 1 in the middle skill of barrier that gives more dmg the higher your shield.
How this works is with the artifact that grants you full shields and 1 health. Since your shield delay and recharge rate are high as hell you don’t need health or the life steal and your barriers protects you while giving you so many buffs.
Everybody hates on the barrier I very much love it.
Also use Torgue weapons they make it so much easy for me my favorite is the double penetrating boring gun

Disconnect from WiFi activate mayhem 3 go to Athenas farm chupacabrach boom level 50 in about 2 hrs

I planned this build out when the skill trees were released on the website (the solo one) and have been running it in game. It is incredibly good but I thought it would absolutely broken when planing it out. I'm still finding gear that enhances it so who knows, maybe it will be as as broken as I thought it would be when I get the perfect gear.

For the Clone Capstone where he gets your gun does that 20% gun damage keep stacking every time you swap with the Clone or just for one swap?

Yes but when you blow up the clone your kill skill goes away with it also .So I am confused ? Why not just have the clone up for as long as it can be up then use the sentinal then the clone after sentinal ect...

Another Zane Main here.
Here's an idea. Drop Boom Enhance and replace the clone explode mod with the taunt mod.
Since the clone copies your shield mod, if you're running the rough rider build the clone will be weak as hell. Taunt will get the clone insta gibbed going right back on cooldown.
Then you don't have to do the annoying hold x to explode thing.
Site Note: I run Radation Hex Grenade + the Radation bonus damage Artifact if I don't think I'll take crazy damage and need the 18% heal artifact.
laser-sploder can be found in other elements too, im running cold damage one myself

I've been so disappointed with Zane but I've kept on playing him and testing out different builds, I was finally ready to give up on him after today and start FL4K but then I found this video and now I'm destroying all of the enemies on MH3. I always thought destroying the digi-clone sounded so bizarre so I never tried it out, but it kicks ass! Thanks a ton.
Hey Ryan! This build works incredibly well with the new terror gimmick. There are grenades and shields that start applying terror to players when action skills end; just find one of that and use whatever decent gun with terror anointments. For me, I have a Backham with that effect, a grenade that boosts fire rate and damage, another grenade that provides health regen, a NightHawking that regen ammo, and a Q-system that shoots more projectiles. (All these are anointment effects that activate when I have terror on me) These buffs are really really strong, and you can stack tons of terror by blowing up the Digi-clone.
im kinda surprised no one is talking about the grenade mod "Its Piss". For builds that dont focus on nades, its a realy good utility grenade AND it has realy good synergy for group play. seems like a good option for this build IMO
not sure if this is the "best" build for general mobbing but it's certainly the most fun i've seen so far and im gona be doing all the challanges side quests on this. Farming bosses i still find myself swapping out Drone entirely and just pipe bombing stuff. Moze can simply boss farm on M3 with a hex or stormfront, flak can do it ... by default and amara can do it once she gets a face puncher for melee amara and i've heard ele amara can do it as well. Zane... i've yet to see a zane build that can take Grave / Tyreen on M3 in under a minute without the bomb.
Radiation does less damage against armor and more against shields, just sayin.
Wouldn't it help a lot to have the activate cooldown talent faster skill on the left side of the first tier of the green tree? You'd have to sacrifice from one of the other trees tho.

Infiltrator does not work with rough rider.
That's just plain wrong though. You can literally tell off of movement speed difference.
@@darksungwyndolin9977 I know. Which is how I know it doesnt work. Rough rider sets your shield to 0, meaning 0 shield is also max shield. You get no bonus from infiltrator.
Or maybe actually try it in game and see for yourself, like I did. It doesnt work.
hhhhhmmm, if you keep summoning and destroying your clones, should zane be fine for bosses? seen as after you destroy the clone after its been deployed, it has a very short cd? so wont your kill skills be up all the time anyways?
Why do you take A Pocket Full of Grenades when you are equipping two action skills for your solo build. Regenerating grenades isnt needed since you arent throwing any.
He's got the Boom Enhance skill where the clone consumes grenades so to avoid running out he specs into the regen skill
I only have the radiation Lasersploder. Really want the fire one, love that weapon.

Honestly radiation is just fine for mobbing, i find fire to be more of a boss thing. Got a mountain Smg for that on fire.

I'd love a step by step list of the best way to spend your points as you play to get this build (I.e. at lvl 2 pick action skill x first, then at lvl 3 pick perk y, etc.). This is exactly the kind of build I had planned for my Zane, but came to the wide world webs for some pointers on how to best go about it--which led me here. You actually gave me a slightly better run list, seeing how a few perks worked better than what I was originally planning to do! Amara was my first character (I play her coop with the hubby & his Fl4k), Zane is going to be my solo boy.
The lazersploder comes in a lot of elements, I finally just got a cryo one to drop for me. I'm playing a more tanky zane, honestly doesnt do too bad with the right weapons
I tanked him up also. I'm kicking a lot of ass!
