He’s a nutritionally educated, instinctive, intuitive eater. It works.

Fasting and working out is pretty easy for me. Eating a days worth of calories in one meal, then getting after it is more of a challenge. Fun to play with though.

Working out hungry is not a good idea, unless your required to in some military scenario, because if your an average Joe simply working out while hungry, this means your body is in a catabolic mode and wont be anabolic for your workout, sure maybe something cardio based would be okay but all of this working out fasted or hungry or depleted of calories has never made sense to me, of course if your training for a specific event or scenario like military or special forces that makes sense but the average gym goer who wants to add a little lean muscle should be properly fueled to trigger muscle growth and be able to respond in the gym, I've never felt weaker and had worst workouts than when I temporarily tried training fasted or with little food in my system, I always felt weak, had no pump and could not life much weight, fast forward today and with two well spaced out meals and feeling adequately fueled, lifting and or resisting training I've seen great results

Fasted weight training allows the body the burn fat faster and build muscle quicker. While fasting, your body is burning glycogen stores amd refining muscle tissue. Why is it that you grow in your sleep? It is because you are fasting. Of course, your glycogen stores deplete, then we have a problem. As soon as I finish working out, I eat a meal to not reach that catabolic state. On the plus side, I increase my insulin sensitivity, boost my overall health and protein synthesis. While fasted, hgh levels are soaring high too, not to mention that the many many more health benefits to fasting in general, at least in the morning. I’d hate for your input to be misleading to others, that why I felt the need to type this. The body is very intricate and interconnected, we have this widespread notion of thinking of it only in terms of muscle.

You have more energy for a harder workout if you’re fueled before.
Performance is worse generally if fasted although you can teach your body to perform better by training fasted. But for optimum performance you need food.

Happy for you, but this comment is a bit anecdotal; an optimal diet can vary greatly depending on baseline fitness and physique goals. The less exciting answer is: go with what works best for you and meet your macronutrients.

Depends how you workout. A powerlifter needs fuel not calistenics for example

@@wayy2much311 Load of garbage....you grow in your sleep because you're fasting??? Where do you get this stuff? You grow in your sleep because of the restorative benefits of sleep.
