i love your long videos. I think shortening your videos to 10 minutes is a huge loss for us who love your content, your humour and like to learn the easy way-from your experience
This is what i've been looking for! I've been a sub of your channel for a long time and it really sucks what youtube is doing to you main channel. A lot of us appreciate the long videos, myself included, where you explain your thought process and help us archieve the only thing most of us want here. To learn. I thought those kinds of videos would be no more since this channel was only for short videos but im glad to see that i was wrong! Continue doing what you do best and continue uploading some long videos too, we love em!
Sorin nice work, for beginners like us we real enjoy long videos, We get a lot as you keep talking when opening the computers, we keep learning rather than shortening the videos. I appreciate this .👍
I am watching channel around 2 years now, all the time improving my skills. The first movies was funny waiting for Sorin to come back from the shop after 5 min talk ;>. Now perfect lenght of the videos. I also watching diffeent channels but mainy this as supplying any daily problems. I am stoping movies and thinking what i will be doing if it is my problem. Then sometimes right or wrong but this is helping a lot to understand my point of understanding. Thanks of all that lessons i happily fix my 3 laptops (for my family), my car dashboard speedometer, and several smallest things. After 2 years spend on YB channels and practising I think I get kind of advanced. PS. always watching Sorin in x1.5 speed ;>
I am admiring your criteria and your videos especially the long ones that really explains in details and practically every situation we may face, not only theoretically. Thank You a lot. By the way I am creating up a txt course which includes all the notes, comments, questions and ways of solutions for every video I watched from your uploaded ones. Hope Ill have your permission for doing that and time to do this for all your awesome videos. You will be the first one to inspect and edit this course when it is finished.😀😀
Hello Sorin, great video as you always have us used to, I hope you continue teaching us. Thank you very much, from Spain-Granada. Luckily the UA-cam translator helps me follow you jjj
Sorin you try to do it from zero before now do it and led Diana learn us on a board and not in the air … and you can learn everybody to understand electronics the right way. Love you for doing this ❤
Absolutely brilliant video. I am waiting for continuation. Nice advise actually not to take the jobs when a laptop is turning on but no picture. 90% cases it's GPU.
Exactly! I looked at the duration & swooned!😀 No, I never mean long videos not acceptable, but it's your channel title & the video duration that's vice versa!😀
Thanks for sharing your experience, it not common or even part of our culture here in africa, am so grateful for you inside knowledge and skill teaching us how to go about laptops
For the newbies, focus on learning how to diagnose a faulty power supply! First, learn from Sorin how to identify the different power sources by the presence of inductors, mosfets, and power supply rails capacitors.
This is my feedback. This is the type of the video I was looking for. I learned a lot from you and others but I always wondered how I can tell if the power rail I am looking at the moment is 3.3 or main or 1.8 or whatever. Looking forward to the next video :)
I am very thankful to you sir for this kind of good video because we are on learning mode so well explain each and every step to improve the skills to my knowledge additional advantage tq very much❤
The biggest challenge I believe is to know (for a beginner) the correspondent voltage values. How should I know if there should be 19.5V and after 18.9V? Should I have 4.5v at some point or 4.1V? How to know that? It happened to you @sorin right? You thought the board was fixed...
That was fantastic !! talking of diferets kind of imput circuits i just only miss the USBC and how it negociate then main power rail voltage.some words about Power Delivery Protocols and Thunderbolts stuff, do you have some commets about new standar of 48v@5A 240w designed for gaming laptops? I already now thant you don't like USB-C like imput power system.. you told us many times before! do you remember?, do you still keep your words? .. I reali love this long king of videos i mean over 25minutes.. it was perfect!. thanks Sorin

Thanks mentor for always sharing your thought on all your repairs, your are one out of many who shares his heart of his skill, i have issue with HP probook X380 11 G3 EE whereby it flashes two light followed by three long quick flash not displaying to screen, and the RAM is onboard, how do i fix this problem
I really appreciate your efforts, but we need more clarification about how we can identify P and N-channel MOSFET, and depending on what is called that name, also the source, drain and gate can be the same on both P and N-channel MOSFET. The second one that is much more important is how to measure each component on the board and what the right approximate values have to be (Ohm, Voltage). e.i MOSFET must not shorten any source, drain and gate together. The voltage on the 8th pin of the BIOS usually or always has 3.3v... So on so forth Thank you so much.
Fantastic video! Almost everything is making sense. One question I had is how you know which pin of mosfet are source gate and drain? Are you looking these up (didn't look like it) or is there an easy way to figure that out? Thanks!
first.big thanks to u Master.what i've learned in other place that the coil never touch the ground when we have short with ground with coil tha's mean the short is not far from the coil. my question is ok we know where is our main power rail, how it can help us to find the problem if the power is lost in some places?stupid question but i have to ask :)
The biggest problem I have with laptops is the keyboard oddly enough. The one on my old gaming laptop is missing some keys and others aren't responsive. I found a replacement that works but I have no idea how to get to the keyboard membrane itself. It looks like it's sealed in and without knowing how to get into it I don't want to experiment because I can use an external keyboard. It's frustrating though. Videos like these will help so many even if it doesn't directly help me.
Check that the keyboard cable is clean and plugged in fully. If it is don't bother trying to open and fix a broken keyboard because it will always be damaged more. You can buy a new replacement keyboard for most laptops and they are fairly cheap (except for latest model laptops or very expensive gaming laptops). Some years ago I bought a few replacement keyboards for some older Toshiba laptops and they were only about 20 dollars each.
@@g4z-kb7ct I have a replacement. I've had it for almost a year now I just can't get into where the keyboard membrane is itself. It's got no screws or obvious way to get to it :/
@@PaulReed It's likely to be a heat staked keyboard which's a pain to replace! You won't find videos for that in this channel. Check for keyboard replacement videos in UA-cam with your laptop model name. It's not for faint hearted!😀
@@Aneesh.Asokan it isn't a major brand. It's a Clevo rebrand sold by Cyberpower UK. They just add RAM and HDD. I've searched for it under the names used and got nothing. It's annoying because I have a replacement that works but no way to swap them. Even tried contacting the OEM but never got a reply.
@@PaulReed if you have a replacement keyboard just swap over the whole keyboard. Open laptop, unplug the cable and plug in the new one. A keyboard can be opened but because they are very thin you will just damage it beyond repair. Just replace the whole keyboard. Or do yourself a favor and get a laptop that is designed to be repaired like the Framework laptop.
thank you sir.. i'm from philippines... i've been training in laptop and macbook but i'm still confuse for checking the vreg or ldo, the 5v, 3v and the 3.3volts
Hi Sorin !!!! This is what we want !!! Not 10min vidéos. We want to learn properly with long explanation
Sorin creates a 10 min laptop repair channel, posts a 1 hour video.
Very educative video, thank you sir.
i love your long videos. I think shortening your videos to 10 minutes is a huge loss for us who love your content, your humour and like to learn the easy way-from your experience
my god , you are gold to me , i work in a thrift shop , many laptops have survived thanks to knowledge i learned from you , ty sorin

I have small knowledge in electronics and I like this step specially repairing a laptop.

His Discord is good. I go there and ask for help. I have fixed things by doing this. I am not brand new, but no expert.
this is amazing Sorin you are the best!

some model always has a faulty EC or IO chip, but not hard to find out either.

Hello Sorin
