As a Starbucks barista myself it’s really stressful and takes a lot of energy to make drinks especially being on bar all day, please appreciate your baristas who makes your beverages and put yourself in our shoes

Now I definitely understand why baristas are so stressed all the time, you guys in the comments complain absolutely too much who cares if it’s still some left over from the blended drink they literally sit & put as much as they can in the cup. Like seriously whats the problem? The drinks are correct? My parents laughed at me when I dreamed to be working here at Starbucks because of low salary, I don't know why but I'm still encouraging myself to work here perfectly!
our wages went up by a dollar, and i usually average around 25 dollars in tips a week. you gain experience, you get free coffee, and most who apply at starbucks are just really amazing and so much fun to work with.
@@jass1470 the thing is that if you fill the cup up too much, it's harder to put the whip on top without the sides overflowing, hence why we will leave a small gap. it's not her measurements that are wrong, as we go by pumps, it's probably just a really big scoop of ice. long story short, even the most experienced baristas usually have excess.
Sometimes, just sometimes you make a little extra. I just go off of muscle memory & if there happens to be a little extra, it’s okay. It does t hurt anybody, most the time that why people order with no whip. So we can fill their drink to the rim & put the lid on without there being a mess :)
@@geolex4560 I'd always train people to make the drinks correctly & to standard but after 5.5 years of working for starbucks, I'd say 90% of the time I wouldn't even measure ingredients in the cup I'd just feel it out through muscle memory ya know? like why dirty the cup measuring if I know my portions are near correct in the blender anyways lol

Yeah, especially in really busy areas. There is always competition w/in the district for fast drive thru times. Really puts pressure on all of us. The other baristas there tho! They make going into a difficult shift worth it.

this is unrealistic, as most of the drinks here seem to be regular standard menu items. At my store, every other drink is an iced white mocha with vanilla sweet cream cold foam and ex caramel drizzle, or a pink drink with heavy cream, 3 scoops of vanilla bean powder, vsc cold foam, light ice, no berries, mocha drizzle and strawberry puree in the foam or something equally ridiculous. (this comment is totally lighthearted by the way i love my job)
As someone who works at Dutch bros I’m currently obsessed with how differently Starbucks makes their drinks… like I watch this and I’m like !! What are they doing now !! They’re using a blender for that ?? what flavor is that supposed to be ??? What the hell is a macchiato ?? Why aren’t they Tom-tomming???
So jealous you get to wear your watch. I walked in on my first day and my manager was like “you can’t wear that” and my heart broke a little inside because Starbucks is such an active job 😞

They get flipped upside down and put over a sprayer. Like the cup cleaner that’s going around tik tok now. I promise they are clean and if you have an allergy we make sure to get a clean one
In a different video a barista said that the trick is to put like an 1/8 of a teaspoon of Xanthan Gum (you can order that online) in your drink. That makes it thicker! :)
It low key kinda makes me mad how much of the blended drinks get thrown out because they don’t fit in the container. Like, I paid for those ingredients, I want it all!
as someone who works as a barista that’s what we have to do. you only pay for a certain amount of the drink. like if it’s a 24oz drink you’re paying for , you’re only paying for 24oz of it... which is why we fill up the cup as much as we can 🙂
@@carlyglh I know you guys have to do it, but there’s no way Starbucks is eating the cost of the extra product that doesn’t fit. You pay for the ingredients of it all and then some for profit purposes so the rest that gets thrown out is your money being dumped down the drain. That’s like buying a cake and then part of it gets cut off and thrown out because it didn’t fit in the box.

If you do a refresher and it's looks not full don't add extra liquid add extra ice. The ratio will get messed up, I hope you don't take this offensively. Just trying to help out a bit 🖤
both! if you think about it, starbucks has so many flavors of all different types of sauces, syrups, & powders and so if you just combine those flavors in different ways then what's on the regular menu, you create the secret menu!

@@honcho8974 I quit after like 3 weeks but from my time there I met really sweet people who wanted me to learn & actually super hands on to help you out however I only recommend the job if you work well under pressure & don’t mind getting paid under wage for the amount of work you do. In my short time there they had me working my butt off for only a little over 10$ + I would only make like a good 700$ only having 1 day off w full shifts meanwhile I now make 16 at Walmart not having to stress myself out & making over 1500 each check but do what you think you would succeed in :)!! Good luck!
I really wanna work here (or at Cafe in general) but I have a disability and I feel like I won't be hired because of it 😕.. this job is all about memorizing..but my disability effects my memory. Are we allowed to check recipes before making a drink? Like if I brought a mini notepad with me with recipes or something?

always follow your dreams! as you accomplish them you find new ones on the way so I think working for starbucks is a great place to start!

One of my most common mistakes when I was a partner was ignoring the "no whip" note as well 😅😂

Its a blended drink, so for the consistency it needs a lot of Ice or it will be too runny or too icy.
