Scrapbooking With Your Cricut: (Partial) Solar Eclipse

Hi friends, thanks for visiting my channel today. I hope my layout inspires you!
Unlike my path of totality friends, I live in a part of the world that only got to experience a partial solar eclipse. I googled some hacks for viewing it safely, but I completely missed it 😕 I was a bit bummed about it- until I saw a post on Facebook from a well known weatherman in our area, looking for snaps of the eclipse. The posts did not disappoint! This is how today’s layout was born!

I used my Cricut for all the digi parts, and paired that with older products from Simple Stories and Cocoa Vanilla (No Limits). In the pocket page are three photos; the photo in the top pockets was printed at 6x4 inches then trimmed in half to make two 3x4 photos. The second photo was printed at 3x4 inches. In the last pocket, is a journal card that I created using my Cricut to cut the scallop mat and draw + cut the sun; the die cuts comes from No Limits.
Page two of this double page layout is a Traveller’s Notebook layout, measuring 5.5x8.25. The base of the layout was cut from white cardstock using my Cricut. The journaling was attached to the scallop mat, then drawn and cut together. The title is an image I used that another Cricut creative made; I converted her image to draw then attached it with offset so that I could add colour to it with alcohol markers. I also manipulated the image to reflect my partial view of the eclipse and change up the date a bit. Other than the little camera at the bottom of the layout, all the embellishing is from No Limits.
I’m so thrilled with this layout. It came out so good! Since I used older collections to create my layout, I will only link products that are still available. You’ll find those below.
