- A live concert from 1983 with interviews by the 2nd Chapter of Acts and Michael and Stormie Omartian.
Two sets of pioneers in Contemporary Christian Music.
This is the second of two old VHS programs that have somewhat weathered the storm of time, moving, and age.
I first came across Stormie Omartian 10 years ago when reading her books on prayer. They have been a wonderful blessing to me. To see her here singing and giving her testimony as well as Michael, is a gift.. Beautiful then and beautiful now.
My wife and I were there that night at Church on the Way. On guitar my old guitar teacher, Rick Azim. ❤
This is true music! Thank You Second Chapter of Acts, Omartians, and all of the 70s Christian music pioneers! I'm glad to have grown up in such a time. I'm nearly 67 years old and still rockin' and worshipping to this music!!❤

78 years on this earh and still cherish seeing 2nd Chapter in Cincinnati circa 1990s. I have almost all the tapes and CDs. Always revival when tough stuff has happened along the way and assurance of His love whatever is to come. Blessings to you fellow travelers from Ohio.🙏🎶

Quick story: Mansion Builder was the first I heard of 2nd chapter. Listening to it on cassette on the way to my first Jesus concert- the Resurrection Band. 1979, shortly after I was born again 😎
2nd Chapter of Acts, Keith Green, Barry McGuire, etc. that brings back memories. Contemporary Christian music when it was still scriptural and Christ focused.

I commend Stuart Townend songs to you. For example the albums Monument to Mercy and Lord of Every Heart. Some absolute gems on there such as My Delight. Do listen and comment back and say what you think.

my early days of walking with Christ, with street evangelism in Spain was listening to these amazing people. i met Matthew in i think 1984, and he was talking about his struggles with walking in the faith. i never forgot it, i was in hard time, his words let me know as the scripture states, God is faithful
My sister, Karen, and I have often wished for a reunion 2nd Chapter of Acts concert. We would pay any price to be there. 💙
I watched this with such joy. And as I watched Annie transition to Easter Song, I instantly thought of their parents who never lived to see their children being used to sing AND play instruments around the WORLD! Oh how delighted they would be to know God used their untimely absence to gift their kids and use them to impact the lives of many! Thank you Lord for your ability to use death as a means of resurrecting and breathing life, the Life, into lives!

@@jlslvan1, I am familiar with the scripture. However, in reference to nine children being orphaned, I prefer to simply thank the Lord for making beauty out of ashes and in a beautiful way removing a portion of the sting of death from a very sad situation.
I saw them when they traveled with RW Shambauch in the early 80's. The Holy Spirit shows up when they sing so anointed
It's been about 35 years since I've heard that album (Together Live) and I never have gotten to see the video of it being performed - I didn't even know it existed. I LOVED finding this!
I had their albums. Loved them ❤️ Brings back great memories as I was 18 in 1971
I'm not a Christian, but if God gave Michael Omartian his talent, I thank him for that. Omartian is a genius, and almost nobody outside the music business knows that.
I used to be able to hit that high note in the Easter Song once upon a time. Now nothing comes out. Not even a squawk, lol. I love hearing these old songs. It's so refreshing, almost like they're new again. 2nd C.A.'s "Mansion Builder" and Michael and Stormie's whole "Mainstream" album had huge impacts on my spiritual life. Christian Contemporary Radio play music doesn't seem to have that element of worship that their songs back then did. Actual Praise and Worship music does of course, but not the regular CCM that they play on the stations. 2nd Chapter of Acts, Michael and Stormie Omartian, Barry McGuire, and Keith Green were my worship music back then.
So wonderful! I love that they are all so well-spoken and absolutely sincere in their appreciation of what Jesus has done for them.
The 2nd Chapter Of Acts is a Super Group! I'm so blessed by their beautiful musical harmonies. I'm especially impressed by the powerful, melodic voice of Matthew Ward. I'm also very thankful that someone bothered to record this. Lots of talent here! God bless you all!

Matthew Ward: the greatest rock singer and rock voice of all time.
This was my 1st 2nd Chapter of Acts Album of my own (My sister had the Roar of Love before I got this album). I remember seeing this video, gosh, like 35 years ago on VHS! We had rented it from a local Christian bookstore. I loved the harmonies, the keyboards, and the guitar work, but also the drumming! First heard this when I was about 13 years old, and it inspired me to learn how to play the drums! What a gift these folks had for music and ministry!

I went to see them when they came to N.Z and played in the Auckland Town Hall,it was more of a worship service than a concert,so awesome,I was so blessed and am a huge fan of their music and ended up buying most of their albums over the years,my favorite one being "Singer Sower".
THAT TOUR THROUGH WUD HAVE TO BEEN 75 or 76. IN PALMERSTON NORTH OPERA HOUSE, THEY TOTALLY BLEW THE ROOF OFF THE WALLS DOWN, AND CHURCH FOLKS NEVER LIFTED HANDS IN WORSHIP BEFORE, THREW UP THEIR HANDS IN THE AIR, LOST IN WORSHIP! YOU GOTTA HAVE BEEN THERE TO APPRECIATE THAT.
Thank you for sharing. I hadn't listened to 2nd Chapter of Acts or Michael and Stormie Omartian for years. They were ones I listened to often in my early Christian life back in the '80's.

This was my very first Christian album when I became a true believer. The anointing breaks the yolk!
I was attending a missionary college in Minnesota when all these albums came out and they became such a strong part of my Christian growth; Barry McGuire, the Gaithers, Phil Keaggy and many other lesser known who sang at the coffee house downtown Mpls. It was a wonderous time! And then I was able to share it all with my kids - today they are in their 40's and they still love this music!
Have loved 2nd Chapter of Acts since I was about 10 years old the 70s and Love and Respect them to this day.
I had Matthew's Toward Eternity album - phenomenal!!! His voice is absolutely amazing - as are the harmonies of the three together.
This is a very blessed group of musicians!!! They truly bless me so much!!! The Lord is worthy to be praised…FOREVER!!!!!!! 7/23/2023

Wow didn’t expect to stumble on this at 1am. Thanks Sean for taking the time to transfer this to digital it is truly a rare find. I just watched an interview taped recently with Michael. It’s amazing how his talents have been blessed. Good to see some of these founding fathers still shining The Light.
40:26. That's what a prophetic anointing sounds like when put to music. So powerful, grabs the heart beyond the mind, deeper than understanding. Here I am just shy of 40 years later listening to this in the year that Roe v Wade was overturned. Still so much to do now, state by state, as the left is so passionate about killing our offspring. But the prophets hear God's heart, and he is helping us bring redemption to save the nation from the destruction it deserves. Keep praying, keep testifying. So much guilt, such evil in the world, but God's way is good, and will overcome all.
Jesus Revolution movie brought all these true Cchristian singers. I remember Marantha bookstore in Glen, CA n getting so many cassettes. They sang God's Word. They all sang because of their love of Jesus. Unlike today n the $$

Man, I need to revisit this band. Didn't realize how good they were. Mathew Ward has quite a voice and the lead guitarist is really good. The whole band rocks! Praise God for their testimonials too.
The Omartians are tremendous musicians too with powerful testimonials. What a blessing they are to the world, bearing much fruit.

About ' 77 the were in Des Moines ,Hort Sherman auditorium ,hosted by the New Life center.. my 1st Christian concerto perhaps... and totally Lovely.. in Soirit and Truth!

WOW!! I have looked on the net for any trace of Both Michael and Stormie Omartian and the 2nd Chapter of Acts. I especially wanted to hear Mathew Ward sing some of or even one of the songs from his first solo album from this time period. It seemed like nothing had been recorded or saved or it was just non existent. BUT HERE IT IS!! Thank you Jesus for these amazing artists and that we were and still are blessed by their giftings! This world is running at speed toward the end and these songs and Artists sing of the wonders of Christs Saving Grace and the struggles of being one of those that has chosen the narrow road. So often we forget that we've chosen the narrow road and think there's something wrong when it's difficult yet Jesus told us it will be very difficult even with the Holy Spirits comfort and Joy. "I want to thank you Jesus the Rock where I fell to pieces then you put me back together again"! Thank you for posting this incredible moment in time with these incredible concerts. It's life giving even though many don't hear or know.

Thank you for your words, I got saved in 2011 and I was perhaps starting primary school when this songs were sang but I discovered them later, and I havent stop listening every day all day. There is something about this music that is so different to all the modern music ppl like, personally I cant stand to listen nowadays songs, they are beautiful but this ones the Holy Spirit moves, so I keep on listening to the old. Lyrics so profound, testimonies so life changing. BTW I am listening from Chile, so thankful God taught me english cause here we all speak only spanish :)

I loved the live version of Rejoice by Matthew Nellie and Annie..on the album it was the first song on side one and is absent here as well
The Michael/Stormie Omartian section is so accurate to the album(s). I wonder how many of the musicians here were involved on the original (Mainstream) record.

Matthew Ward is one of the best voices in pop music in the last half century. I wonder what would have happened if he hadn't been caught in the cult of religion,

He would have been a success until the fad he represented faded away. There’s always a “new kid in town.” I agree with Guzwa23. I’m guessing Matthew’s personality would have led him down a dark path. Ironically, Matthew, now in his 60’s, says he’s never liked listening to “Christian music,”except for a few exceptions. It doesn’t do anything for him like the old Motown and Soul singers like Stevie Wonder, Sam Cook, etc. Yet, he is deeply spiritual in his relationship with Christ as he is “worldly.”
