This is a simple feature, but it is going to make a big impact to usability. This will make manual tool changes so much better, but also makes the system ATC ready, AND makes the zeroing processe the same between manual and ATC changes. Its really cool that it is out of the footprint of the spoilboard as well, so we can still extend past the front of the machine when tiling projects larger than the machine. Well done!
It would be really great if this feature existed for the old Mach 4/controller system as well. If the new hardware (tool height setter) was able to plug into the old controller, I suspect some of the custom mach 4 scripts that others have created for systems like CNCDepot ATC could be ported to Avid Mach4 without too much dev time. I would really love this functionality without completely swapping out my existing controller. Thanks for considering.

I’ve been asking avid for this feature since I bought my machine 4 years ago so this is very exciting! When doing the initial calibration, couldn’t the traditional avid touch probe be integrated into the utility to help establish the offset rather than manually setting it?
We do it this way because it doesn't require another tool (not everyone has an Avid CNC touch plate) The "paper" method is a tried and true way to get it really accurate.
