Greta video, but you didn't get the full story with the Etikons. You see, apparently Captain Alex did not get permission from Etika's family to sell those joy-cons and the brother even spoke up about it after the DMCA gained traction. That, and there was even some confusion on whether or not Captain Alex was actually sending all the proceeds to charity. Alex has since provided proof that he did, but it's really hard to tell for a fact since we only have his word to go off of. Long story short; I believe Nintendo was fully in their right here and this only proves why they can't even let their IPs be used for charities that they aren't associated with. Because sadly, we can't always assume something is good just because it's associated with charity.

Tbh, Etika would have wanted these to be sold regardless if it was for charity or not. His family probably knew he would want this and there was no instance where his family said they didn’t want etikons to be sold. The sad fact is everyone needs to make a living somehow.

Eh. Their current game devs have a mentality of “if the older guys can’t give us a good enough reason by our arbitrary metrics for why they always did something a certain way, then we throw it out” which creates some baffling design decisions in of themselves

Don’t use “port” when it comes to Mario 3D All Stars. None of the games in it are ports. They’re all emulated. A port would be running natively on the hardware. Emulated titles principally are mimicking the original hardware
Mario Galaxy actually is a port, only the audio is emulated iirc. The rest is native Switch code.
Had to break it to you but that's the future of ports, partially emulation and partial native code. That's what those titles were. They weren't straight emulation or ports. But as code becomes more complex and as emulation becomes better, you'll see now companies take this hybrid approach in the future (albeit with more overall work being done on the end project).
I still enjoyed 3D All Stars a lot regardless of how it's run. First time I ever got to beat Sunshine. Hands down hardest 3D Mario I ever played. I also emulate tons of other games and have since I was 10 so if I didn't care then, I don't care now. If it delivers, it delivers. As long as I can get a physical copy, too.

For the whole Joy Con drift thing, I did send my Joy Cons to Nintendo and they just completely replaced them with ones without drift
That's good! I've heard some people say that the repairs they do sometimes won't fix it, and even in some cases they repairs can make it worse.

I wish they did that with Kirby's. I think all that they did was bash it with a hammer. However Kirby has found that if you remove the grip off the Joystick It will for some reason work better. At least that's what Kirby has found with his Nintendo Switch Lite. (Yes Kirby does have a Pink Switch Lite. It could not be any other way.)
Luckily, I picked up 8 Deluxe for 30 dollars when Toys R Us was having a closing sale.
Deluxe is a good game, despite it basically being a slightly enhanced port! $30 is a very good price for it! I'd say it's worth it for that price.

Honestly I kinda prefer crash team racing, the lightning bolt ruins the game for me as its not fun to get hit by or use.

Iwata was the only person at Nintendo to even give a hint as to why fan games get nuked, but as far as I can tell, ROM sites weren't taken down until a few years ago, after his passing. Sad that current management sucks, and RIP Iwata.
The current management Nintendo now has is multiple CEOs from official business origin... _with no video game involvement_

People like to think they wouldn't have, but there's very little reason to believe that's the case. Iwata is only one man against entire systems that incentivize this behavior.
I suggest anyone that is making a tournament or whatever, do it in Brazil because Nintendo abandoned here a long time ago, so they have no grounds for going after it lol

Now tell me why Sega has had a more memorable if not bigger presence there. Heck, Tectoy's still selling Master Systems there to this day.

Heck we had versions of games such as Wonderboy in Monster Island reskinned as popular characters from Turma da Monica for example in the Master System era.

For Joy-Con drift, even though Nintendo stated that it doesn’t exist, even PS5 and Series X/S controllers also have issues with Joy-Con drift

That's a false equivalence. The other systems don't have issues with controller drift to the same degree as the Switch does.

Heck, I wouldn't even agree with that sentiment anymore, coming from a formerly embarrassing Nintendo stan. While Microsoft in general still does plenty of evil stuff, the current Xbox console/PC ecosystem is kind of ridiculously consumer-friendly, especially compared to Nintendo.
Pro-backwards compatibility, pro-emulation and retro game preservation, and Game Pass makes an absolute clownshow of Nintendo's $30-a-year N64 sub.

Nintendo can be evil, but they are more like robbers/scammers. It can be way worst like Sexual Harrasment (Ubisof, Activision), Worker abuse (EA), or just full on big brother stuff (Konami)

My biggest issue with Nintendo shutting channels down on UA-cam is they shouldn't be doing that at all. They should just block the videos If it have a problem with it. There's no need to ruin someone's career because they copy music that's really hard to find. Either that or even better they could take some of the credit for it and all the money that the UA-camr gets reviews. But the UA-camr could still have his or her Channel alive

The Mario 3D all stars thing isn’t artificial scarcity. It’s a business tactic companies like Disney mastered long ago. It’s called FOMO (Fear of missing out). And it’s every bit as anti consumer now as it always was, especially when you have a digital storefront you own that can sell your own products.

I should note that Mario 3D All Stars is named in conjunction with the SNES Super Mario All Stars, so if you want to really nail some of the problems down, you should compare them. Mario 3D All Stars only has 3 games. Super Mario All Stars has 4, and at least 2 of them are full remakes, while the other 2 are just enhanced versions of the original with better coloring and bug fixes. And I’m pretty sure later releases of it came with Mario World as well.

Nintendo used to have great quality control but ever since the Switch released (a low quality system compared to predecessors) it seems Nintendo has adopted the practices of major publishers like EA & Activision where quantity is paramount.

Hopefully when they release the games I want, I am gonna drift away from Nintendo because I hate the way they do things and their decisions. In my opinion, Nintendo is literally the slow grandpa of the gaming industry, choosing not to move with the times, not putting effort in their systems they make, denying that their product is faulty (joy on drift) I mean really?

the reason they do it is not to gain money now, but to keep money for later. in their eyes, they have to keep their properties under a strict copyright because if they don't Nintendo would lose the rights to the characters and games and they could go bankrupt

13:12 Hey, here is something to remember: I have Melee on the wii, and it used to have online play, now it is discontinued (for about 5 years it has been, maybe longer, that is only the first time I saw it) On the wii you can even select to go to online play (not under the name online play) and it says "this service is discontinued"
Oh, and dont forget, Nintendo could have made a fortune by making an official online play device addon but they didn't. They always break something that is better than them, then just ignore that ppl want it

I am so done with Nintendo at this point. My switch keeps overheating whenever I have it on the dock, the joy cons keep breaking and for a while my dock didn't even work! The hardware on the switch is horrible! Nintendo also sue people for plush tubing now and they also seemingly trademarked the name Mario! They also shut down fan games which I cannot forgive them for! Call EA greedy all you want, at least they aren't a bunch of jerks who shut everyone down for being fans! SCREW THIS COMPANY!

At this point, the blame is on their fans- the zealots that keep saying "thank you, sir, might I have another?" after every slap and disrespect Nintendo shows towards them. Companies only care when people talk with their wallets, and they know their fans are just too eager to throw money at them because "nostalgia". The fun fact is that it's a very finite business model- new generations were charmed by many different non- Nintendo games, so nostalgia will no longer work as a cash magnet in the future.

"Nintendo hater" isn't a thing. It's not wrong to recognize a company is a company. They're not a sports team, they are not the "guardians of your childhood" and they sure as hell do not have the best interest of their consumers at heart.
Such companies only do so when they are in the shitter and are desperate. But every company of the Big 3 are very well off. Such that Games and Console prices are going to go UP even when the "Chip Crisis" is technically already over and all of the companies make INSANE amounts of money to cover every single production hurdle.
It's not wrong to not want to be a tool and demand being respected as a consumer.
Many Nintendo fans are just realizing Nintendo doesn't care because of recent controversies, but their history in the industry goes way deeper.
I just discussed some of the skeletons in Nintendo's closet since the 80's on another video. Please allow me to copy/paste cuz it's a mini-essay:
"This video is very incomplete, I hoped it would delve deeper into the real dark truths. That the "guardians of your childhood that could do no wrong" is just what they WANT you to think when they were always cutthroat to the point of being the EA/Activision of Japan.
No mention to how they sabotaged, drove off and professionally assassinated Gunpey Yokoi, their SUCCESSFUL outlawing of rental and 2nd hand markets for videogames in Japan (that emboldenned them to attempt it in the US), their strict rules for stores to sell their games, their iron grip on controlling every aspect of production, the forcing of 3rd party developers to pay for production costs of units that could never compete with their 1st party productions, Nintendo had stores under contract to prioritize shelf space to 1st party games over 3rd party (still do), partnership contracts with developers prohibiting them from ever developing anything on competitive systems (something Microsoft later became infamous for in the 360 era and people are complaining about it now with Sony), Nintendo's rugpull of Argonaut over the development of Star Fox 2 that only got resolved 20 years later, Nintendo's rugpull of Sony developing the Playstation as a Snes CD addon to compete with Sega, they had a contract, but Nintendo violated it cuz for some reason they thought the Phillips CD-i was the best bet (causing Sony to enter the market to spite Nintendo). Nintendo was in dire straights until they struck gold with the Wii by marketting it as a TOY, their 3rd party support was still atrocious and nothing 3rd party developers sold on the Wii ever translated into big sales (most games on the list of "best selling" games for the Wii are packed-in party games). Nintendo never managed to get the returns and success they got with the NES as the SNES and Gamecube, each selling worse than the predecessor.
There is A LOT more shady things to dig into about Nintendo that are way "darker" than just not allowing a Smash Bros. competition. That was just the spark that got recent fans to start breaking that spell Nintendo has on them. They are a company like any other and they do not have the consumer's best interest at heart. Just profit margins. They treat Gunpey Yokoi's commandment of refurbishing outdated tech and reselling it at a premium as the cornerstone of their success now. While they say it's about creativity and fun, it's just about minimizing production costs. The Wii was a repackaged Gamecube with more memory to manage it's OS. The Switch, back when it launched, was a mid-tier tablet chipset with a modified processor from nvidia to focus more on graphics processing rather than multitasking with multiple apps. It was clever of them to go "hybrid" cuz they already had the monopoly of portable gaming market, but just isn't really future-proof. Nintendo hasn't been in the cutting edge since the Gamecube and it was the last time they ever attempted to do so."
As a switch lite owner, I had some small joycon drift, and was scared that it would get worse. Luckily, it went away. :)

If Iwata didn’t die would he have been caring about his fans during the switch era. Probably yes. It seems like Iwata dying a couple of months before the switch releasing is a coincidence.
If Nintendo actually listened they would be the most successful companies by a huge margin.
Why would they make user replaceable joy-cons? They knew about the problem, still made them so that in the end, the user has to pay more for extra joy-cons.
I litirliy was just finnished uploading a Splatoon video and was going to stream netendo games on my switch and now I am thinking that I should not stream or contunue uploading videos with their music.
I have not gotten a copyright strike yet and I think I am in the clear but if I get my stream taken down today I am just going to be mad at netendo because I bought a video capture card for making videos on their games on my switch.... I hope everything will be fine

Thanks for watching! But I wouldn't worry about using Nintendo music in videos/streams. I use Nintendo music in practically all my videos and I've had no copyright claims/strikes.
I think they are only targeting people who upload their music to UA-cam directly with no commentary over it.

Not just those, they were cease and desisted those who make games featuring Nintendo related content and same towards DMCAs and have taken down several fan games with Nintendo related, I’m surprised Five Nights at Wario’s hasn’t been taken down or the creator have gotten sued

Oh, take a note: I have had to replace my joycons 1-2 times per year, since I first got it (year of release) and worst of all, I have two sets to replace, my dad likes to play with me quite often

In Australia these Joycons cost 110 dollars or something like that on Amazon, even in JB Hi Fi who can do pretty good prices on games.
On the topic of drift, my first pair of joycons never drifted, they just stopped charging and connecting to the switch. So I had to use a wireless pro controller (in handheld because I lost my dock, and the stand broke off a while back because of how flimsy they are) until I eventually got a new pair of joycons. And those started drifting like day 1, but luckily it was just dust or crumbs or whatever managing to get under and mess it up, like 3-4 times in a few days where I had to clean them and then it just stopped happening and they've worked perfectly since. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, it 100% does, I'm just more surprised I HAVEN'T had these issues

The only reason Nintendo has been able to get away with this is that Nintendo has a monopoly on all ot's games, and it's child friendliness gives it an edge.
Sony and Microsoft have been competing for decades and they're light-years ahead of Nintendo when it comes to consumer-friendly practices. Game pass is a win for the entire PC and Xbox community and it makes Nintendo look like a joke. Xbox's are shipped with hardware issues? No problem, fam, we'll fix them no charge and release a new line of consoles the exact same price within half a year that removes all those issues. Fans don't like the graphics on one of our next upcoming games? We'll take another year to improve them and while we're at it we'll add even more mechanics and features just because we can.
Nintendo is a company that relies on exploiting their monopoly and their cultural advantages rather than actually making good products.

Microsoft is making Sony look like a joke too. Game Pass is already a better value than PS Plus and PS Now, but Phil Spencer actually seems to care about game preservation since they support backwards compatibility. There are plenty of 360 and even OG Xbox games on Game Pass, and more are available on their digital store. But if you happen to find a used copy of Jade Empire that's cheaper than the digital version, just buy it and pop the disc in. Microsoft doesn't make any money off that sale, but as far as they're concerned, you own the game. And many of these older titles have even received framerate boosts, improved texture filtering, etc.
There's also the "smart delivery" thing they have. They've done a terrible job explaining what it even is, but essentially if you buy an Xbox One game and later get a Series X/S, the game will automatically upgrade to the Series version. Same thing if you upgrade TVs. I got my Series X last summer but only recently got a 4K TV, so in all that time I had the thing hooked up to my decade-old, 1080p Sony Bravia. When I hooked it up to my 4K TV and tried to start Guardians of the Galaxy, it prompted me to download additional files to upgrade the game. Free of charge, just like it would be if I was upgrading my PC. Meanwhile Sony wants to make people buy their games all over again, or spend an extra $10 bucks to upgrade them.
even their Switch system is provided as a service and can be revoked at any time. whenever people think that "that's in their right as they are the IP owner" should really need to check what they own at all. Steam technically has this problem too, but they are far more user-friendly. for example, the 30% cut to developers comes with full-round community service and modification for players, and periodical sales.

Instead of waiting on the switch, I went ahead and downloaded the Wii on dolphin. Works great if your laptop already had Bluetooth set up inside of it
