Nice, this is the first song I’ve learned that’s not on the “learn these next ” playlist. Your videos have not only taught me to play, they’ve taught me in only 4 months!
You said you haven't had any students in 3 years and now you have 75000 students and 'll one of them. You teach good we can see your hands you have a lot of patience Thanks for being a good teacher
Hello Jim, Tom from Australia New South Wales here, just wanted to say many thanks to you for Inspiring me to pick up my Banjo for the first time. Have been going now for two years and playing lots of songs. Many thanks again to you sir.....and yes I did find my Banjo, it was under the lounge. Take care and God Bless. Kind regards Tom.
Merry Christmas Jim , I picked this one up quick like , but I have to say that last 8 months of lockdown 'Banjer Pickin' and everything I've learned so far is because of your great videos, You're really a great Banjo Teacher ! Thank You sir !
@@JimPankey It sure did, I've already managed to get it pretty much down, now I'll get to work on some back-up for it. Thanks again for the tutorial, sometimes it can be tricky to figure it out by ear.
Hi Jim I know it’s a strange question but Almost finished all your introductory banjo videos from 1-9 and was wondering what you recommend to watch of your videos to carry me on? Thank you again so much
Hey jim got a question i dont know nothing about mandolin i thought you could help what is a cheap good mandolin that could last me until i could get almost pro
My suggesting is to listen to Eric Ellis pik this song. I believe he's playing it with a group with 1948 in their name. He's the best on that tune I've ever heard. Except Earl of course. David Peterson and 1948 is the band I'm about sure of it. It's on u tube.

It would be great to have a lesson on a grandpa jones tune!!
I’ll consider that for my next clawhammer video.
what banjo do you have? or what do you recommend for beginners?
I’m playing a Recording King in this video. I also recommend their Dirty 30s line to beginners.
@@JimPankey okay thanks! i recently became interested in playing the banjo and i can’t learn any songs until i get an actual banjo to play
I’m about to get a banjo and I was wondering if those metal pick things are needed to play the banjo?
They’re very helpful. 😊
@@JimPankey ok I’ll make sure to get them thank you 🙏🏼
moreover try to get the ones Jim is using and recommending (Ernie Ball Picky Picks) it does make a difference in handling and sound 👍
@@lukasrh Ok got it! thank you!

Is the guitar center relible
GuitarCenter should be fine.
Hey Jim, I have a question. How close or how raised should the tail head of the banjo be?
Kinda depends on the banjo. I generally start with the front of the tailpiece set at about 3/8” above the head.
@@JimPankey what should I look for so I know where to set it?
We dont like it jim we "love it 😀👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks 😊
Great Jim 👍👏🏴🥃🇺🇸
Thanks 😊
Love it😄😄😄
Thanks!
Can you please do a banjo lesson on “I’m leaving town” by Russell Moore🤚🏼💯🧤🧤
That’s a good tune. Not sure I’ve ever played it though
If you think its good where could i order it

Always best to go to the source though. Earl Scruggs for me.
Ida Red
What's the forward and reverse sequence?
I cover that in my beginner series
@@JimPankey so its the same roll that you use for banjo in the hollow?
@@ethanowings yes. but remember a roll isn't just a string sequence. They can start on different strings.
@@JimPankey got it
What kind of banjo is this?
I'm playing my Recording King M5
How about Bells of st Mary. LOL
That's a great song! Let me ponder on it. I used to play it all the time.
"Why don't you play 'Down the Road'?" Hahahahaha
😁
Your tabs don’t work for iOS 14. I’d suggest leaving that selffy site and get a patreon
I do have a Patreon and the Sellfy site works just fine for me on iOS14.
