Thank you for this video. I am a chemistry major graduating next semester and I literally just received a call from Walgreens for an interview for a pharmacy technician job, per me coming to UA-cam. I am considering a career as a pharmacist.
DO NOT GO TO PHARMACY SCHOOL. The field is overly saturated , and the jobs that they do have available are paying little to nothing compared to the work they expect you to do. ALSO WALGREENS IS THE WORST EMPLOYER FOR PHARMACIST . They do not care for you at all. If you want to go to pharmacy school even after this warning go the hospital route . Become a technician in the hospital and go to pharmacy school and try to get a hospital job. Currently Walgreens is paying their technicians well but do not work for them as a pharmacist. I say this from experience I just graduated pharmacy school and I’ve worked for Walgreens for years. Please save yourself the heartache and seek advice before you engage in this career.
Same here. Was considering pre med but I love the idea of working at home as an introvert while still working in medicine making a great salary. This video just confirmed it !
@@hazelgithumbi3709 what's the perks for working in the hospital as a pharmacist ? I used to see them all the time when I worked at the hospital and they always looked satisfied with their jobs
@@CookWithStephh Hi lovely ! The only major perk is that it is less stress than retail pharmacy being that you are not the only pharmacist in the facility. Also you are not easily accessible to the public and you are able to focus on the work in front of you. You get to use more of your clinical skills in hospital settings and it’s a great learning environment being that therapies are always changing . The bad side of hospital is politics and cliques , the environment can sometimes seem like high school all over again. To be honest there are multiple settings you can work in as a pharmacist not just retail or hospital. If you want to work from home you can do that too just verifying orders . The salary is not what it used to be , this is not a get rich quick field.
My adorable maam i am from India, i completed my master's in pharmacy. How to get the pharmacist job in usa from india , is there any problems for salary pay due to tax laws......
Is it possible to work from home without having worked on-site at a hospital? I am interested in working remotely due to family commitments but not sure where to start.
Lol, sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but yes I have 2 to 3 off days per week depending on the shift I work. I don't have a set schedule so off days vary and they aren't always consecutive days in a row.
Pharmacy sucks. Nurses, doctors , practically anyone talks to us like we hold no value. U really think a medical doctor will call a pharmacist D a doctor, yea right.
If your self image comes from what people think then yeah pharmacy sucks for you. But for me I make 158k and on my weeks off I work at other hospitals. The money has been great🤷🏾♀️
So nice to see how work from home is like for a clinical pharmacist! How do you find the pay/salary?
What a wonderful job you do! 🎉
Great content, felt like a mini virtual APPE on the first day 😆! Your place looks really nice! 🥰
Thank you! 😊
