It's a busy week with plant as one of our main bits of kit is broken down, we are dropped a demo, transport a Rubber Duck for the first time and a Plant Hire company refuses to trade with us.
We find out how wrong Daniel was about the cost of the new incoming electric, and we have a home for the used wooden sleepers from the new yard, but have challenges trying to reuse old track.

Start a mini series on the yard construction. If there's a camera friendly member of staff, they could be the main character. It would be an extra few Bob towards the work... your trenders now 😂😂 I'm sure you could get a pile of sponsors in it.
Shut up
@@thomasthetankengine2257 Huh? The only reason other people can't is that they're all busy working. He doesn't mind other members of staff being on camera, he just doesn't want to overload them by giving them more work than they're already doing.
@@Christopher_S Yes. He's said countless times, work is first vlogging is secondary, its a business.
Aye mate, a successfully growing business! And Daniels a grafter through and through lol. Sure we know he enjoys the vlogging but like you said. He definitely takes the firm his built over the years far more seriously!

John Deere have been acquiring somewhat of a bad reputation as far as reparability goes. You should be careful about that if you ever intend to buy one of their product. The problem is that theses modern machines have a lot of electronics and you may need access when doing repairs to calibrate the machine. John Deere has been refusing to give access to non-certified technicians which basically forces owners to rely solely on John Deere technicians and approved mechanics. The laws are different in the UK, so I don't know how much of that would be an issue for you.
this post needs to be higher
Is that still a thing, i thought the right to repair bill was very advanced though the motions?
John Deere have caused huge issues for farmers across America
I doubt he will ever buy one, just testing it out since it's free
@Cjxndnsnsjxj33 i know, the op i was replying to is American ( i presume)
No matter how successful Daniel gets. He will always be little Daniel like all our mums. And when he's being cheeky, she gives him the "look" like he's not too old for discipling. ❤
This creates a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.
Right hook waiting😂(only mums can get away with it lol)
"Later is code for never" ... such a true saying. So many pearls of wisdom here on Ashville Weekly.
Tireless engineers like @Ashville must be honoured globally ❤❤
I absolutely love how you still manage to find time to spend with your mum.
Busy man, busy life, but always willing to take time away from work.
What a man! ❤
There's more to life than work
True Men always find time for Family! Daniel knows the deal lol. I definitely respect another fellow Daniel who's a genuine businessman who shows the struggles, the good times alike! but also a man of character etc.
Good seeing his team grow to! That's what a real leader does. Help fellow colleagues and make them stronger as a unit! Regardless of gender to!
Having a staff feature on his job is awesome! Who ever suggested it needs a pat on the back. I think every episode needs to have at least one employee talking about his job 👍
Morning Ashville Family I hope you have a great week!

This series has always been a huge inspiration for my own business.
Love it Daniel.

Saw Ashville tippers at around 8am on the A46 heading to Nuneaton.
Thought I was seeing things, had to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't dreaming lol.
Always a delight seeing mumzy make a cameo
Your positivity and self-belief are inspirational
Advice for the new yard. Take the palisade fencing down and put 358 mesh up and put it as high as you can. Well worth it.

Week 1 of binge watching Ashville: Hmm, finally. A good UA-cam Series.
Week 2 of binge watching Ashville: Start being the project manager no one asked for and begin examining (and scrutinizing) all forms of buildings and construction.
Week 3 of binge watching Ashville: Start waking up at 4:30 AM to get a day's work because man is serious and not half man/half mattress (in case O'Donovan calls us to give us some stick)

Having been part of a management team, and experience the challenges of running a business, meeting customers expectations, keeping motivated, doing what you have to do,it takes a lot of work, time and effort. Stress levels are certainly going to be tested swapping from one to the other. To all at Ashville and Daniel especially good luck with everything you are doing.
thanks for another good start of my sunday, it's cool to be a part of your journey
21:03 John Deere… they’re the filthiest … with their repair monopoly services
You are a inspiration showing anything is possible
Praise on the highest level, big up everyone involved The Asheville acorn has set its roots to one day be that mighty Oak
I have been watching since episode 50 or so. I have no idea about the business but always love watching this channel.
Hello Ashville crew, it's Sunday watching Ashville weekly 🎉.
10:05 Mans spouting off those numbers like an order at the drive through. And congrats on 500K subs.
Theyre rookie numbers, 11kv is low voltage, a (still LV) 27.5kv single switch, not delivered costs more than hatch back.
Hey Daniel. Great videos always. Just a piece of advise in seating posture. I noticed you often bend over your office desk. Practice seating upright to prevent lower back pain long term
Never outnumbered, never outgunned with the the Ashville Fam.
Big up mum on the show. with all that work going on and you make time for small things like a dinner is exactly why you are successful. Mother’s blessings are incredible!!
You are ploughing alot of money into a yard you dont own! I wish you well and look forward to your future success your work ethic is second to none!
50 years is long enough to justify
Congrats on reaching 500k @team Ashville!
Good job on the new site, early outgoings are hard but it’ll stand you right for decades
Congrats on the well deserved 500k subs Ashville team! Each week you are bringing the quality! Another great ep guys, something I make time for every Sunday.
Correct me if I'm wrong (and no doubt you will) but smoke vent call points don't need to be orange, because Velux sells them in grey! which means in theory the outer case could match your decor better, the in inside will still have a red button and it will still say smoke vent but the shell/case is changeable!
your team of workers are fantastic. you have taken on a great amount for yourself but you will do it with your drive
Great content Daniel, I'm inspired to do same cos I've seen you create time to stay fit, check your health and hangout with family. I wish you all the success with Ashville
👊
You could have taken your mum out in the Roll-Royce. and have got Terry as the chauffeur .Your mum is so funny but hardly speaks a word 😂
😂😂😂👍
Hang tough Daniel it will all be worth it in the end.
Can you add solar panels to your power grid once all the buildings are built in the new yard? That will give you somewhat of a cheaper cost in the long run and if you are there for 50 years that would be a huge savings too down the road! Even if you can only add one or four at a time to each building it would be a huge plus.
hes already said that this will happen on the lorry garage 👍
👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾 to everyone at Ashville

Yard is looking very smart! hope your back is better this week
The Truth is Daniel you are Starting All over Again with the New yard I'm Afraid 😢 Nice End to the Video of mum in the Deffender, you need someone like her when the Going is Tough 😊 Good Luck 🤞
Good morning hope you’re all having a great weekend 👍
Sell that Lieberman and switch to a Kimatsu, Liber the bloody gift that keeps on giving.
Always look forward to this on Sunday morning 👍
A friend’s company just been quoting £300,000 to upgrade the yard power supply so they can run EV lorries
That sounds about right energy company’s got you by the nuts these days
Tell them not to bother, EV trucks will never work. They’ll be dead and buried within the next three years.
May as well build a gas station.
Tell them not to bother, EV trucks will never work here. Tell them to wait, all this EV rubbish will soon be over

23:15 Ah that is brutal, in that heavy rain will make you question your life choices real quick, PTSD type work.
35:26 “It’s Saturday, and I’m in an MRI machine” eyyy 😂😂😂
You could do with a UPS back up aswell to keep vital equipment up and running (servers, pcs, weighing bridge etc) just until the generator kicks in. Which is normally under 30 seconds
Love your videos Dan it makes my Sundays
If whoever is getting the old sleepers for their garden sees this, be careful if you are growing anything to eat as the sleepers may have been treated with arsenic depending on their vintage.
22:05 might have been a good idea for the lads to put some 15mm packers behind the sign framing…. Allow the water to pass through, and avoid having a blowout if water is trapped behind the vinyl sign.
Regarding the power, you’re missing a big opportunity for renewable energy, I.e solar power and air/ground heat pumps.
You have so much space and land that you could install solar panels over the new roofs you’re building and before concreting the yard, you can install ground source heat pumps.
Can’t be the only one who - if he’s able - wants to see more of Terry in videos, him explaining things
Morning, might have to get you back in front of the camera 📸 to do a calendar shoot, raise some 💰 for this electrical installation! I’ll do the shoot pro bono 😇😉
Half A Million Subscribers, Good Job
Morning everyone happy Sunday
The tyre repair process should have a plug in the case, then the TIP TOP radial patch placed over the hole with the plug glued into it to stops water and other things getting into the tread and case, then that repair will last the tyre till completely worn-out, he needs to follow the TIP TOP correctly. Just saying from 20 years of heavy tyre industry. 😊.
The soundtracks in this episode 🔥
Always good to see Mama Ashville 👍🏾🙂.
The people making the rail are doing some serious work, love it 🙌🏾
WHY WAS THE MERCEDES PULLING THE LORRY WTH LOL 😅
Happy Sunday❤
The "I'm furious" video gets me every time 😂😂
Mumsie speachless- that's a first!🤣
Loving all the new yard stuff!!
I love mumzy! My highlight of this episode!!!!
Hit half a million smashing it Dan ❤
Mum is proud she can't help but smile
No hi-vis Daniel by the telehandler and track 😂😂
congrats on the big 500k, deserved
the emergency smoke vent button is a crack up 😂 legit cant win with that stuff always a eye sore
There’s one thing for sure whenever you move into new premises whatever you think it’s going to cost you can treble it, if you’re lucky.😂
love to see that genarator start up. on another note the new yard you could get dump trains at the bottom in the middle of the train tracks through a grid on to a conveyor straight in to the bay of what material you use that might be abit quicker as maybe be get more material.
That's the difference between paying to upgrade the carpeting of a flat for a 50-year lease to improve your personal comfort and installing a whole new engineered sub-foundation on that same property you don't own.
"Daniel, it's Clem Fernando. Can you hear me?"
Hello to your Mumzy. Speechless but *not shook* on a Sunday morning.
Congrats on 500k
Congrats on 500k Subs!
Every Trade and Ashville is needed soon
Can’t wait to see the house finished….
My old company had a 800Kv generator because of a power failure lost a lot of data, but the downside was it had to be tested every week and this was done by the security guards during the night. I use to chat with them, it takes just 15 mins for the whole site to be up and running and tested, you have to have your i.T servers up and running within a few seconds so no data loss. Everything you need should be on a control panel, hrs run etc.
You will need power factor correction as well on the generator with a 45 secs turn on of the generator. Also don"t forget solar...
I’m still in bed and watching Ashville Weekly! 😅
Bed, pets, plus the misses.
Congrats on the 500k subs
Absolute quality picture of you and Mum
What a Sunday Ashville then dinner time F1 after that final day of the premier league what more does anyone need
Morning. Another interesting video from you.the ups and downs of construction.
Just one thing I'm not happy about, was you climbing up the skip on the truck when you're in the yard ALONE. IF you had fallen and had injured yourself, when would someone have found you. Shouldn't do things like that when you're alone.
Best of luck from Ireland 🇮🇪
Until the next 👍👍
I sat there last week listening to that quote for the electrical supply and thought to my self “God that’s a bargain, good job Dan” 😅😅😅
😅
You to check what the amps on the moulded case circuit breaker that will tell you how much power you can use and what part of the yard you can use it on
Big fan of the more laid-back music for the montages these last few weeks
Bringing 11kv in is expensive try to get the transformer in a central ish location try to reduce the sizes of the the submains going out to buildings around the yard. The green box is useful,(and expensive if u need a new one) . looks like u have a big switch in there you will need a larger MCCB panel.
Could be the start of Ashville commercial.
Was wondering why those electrical apparatus was previously purchased, Defnotley not a hoarder ✅
The difference between a hoarder and a collector, is a collector knows where the items are located.
Keep the tracks straight and level = light at the end of the tunnel.
Best outro ever, much respect to you all ❤
It would be really interesting if we got to find out what the very large power connection is needed for. A typical yard of this size would normally be more than fine with a supply of 400A/278KVA with 250KVA committed, I wonder if there is some battery electric plant or new processing machinery in the pipeline. In any case starting off with a 250KVA supply would mean you wouldn't need to pay for your own substation as the DNO would be able to supply this at 400V, and distribution boards for this size are off the shelf parts available at a fraction of the cost of a 1250A/800KVA board. You'd probably be looking at about 10% of the connection cost, and lower ongoing cost too. If this route was taken it would be smart to put in a second duct to the site boundary so that you could add a further 250KVA supply in future.
So much to take in! Im stressed just watching the video 😂
Should have had the trains that don’t need to be unloaded by a tipper. Use the trains that unload straight underneath the yard.
Here’s to 500k subscribers 🥂🎉
23:27 Hmm! Nice to see a Chartwell Survey Book 2426 still being used in this digital age. Great videos👍👍👍.
35:16 Daniel's body structure is that of a tall mesomorph (when he was at school and afterwards was modeling) ... but he is lifting like he is a tall endomorph or planning to look like one ... that is why he has busted his shoulder, his knees and part of his back. If you look at his walk ... there is very little spring in his step. He is too top-heavy for his lower half.
Hi Daniel. Feel your pain with the rising cost of the new yard especially with the electrical system costs you shared.
One idea that might be worth looking at is keeping the tracks area as a track ballast area but then focus on the concreting the rest of the new yard.
This brings two benefits -
1) you have the option to do the additional sections of railway track at a later date when you are not paying out for all the other works you need to do in a limited time before you vacate the current yard. The new track areas are not going to be driven over like you are at the current yard so this will not be as important.
2) the focusing on the concreting of the new yard will help with keeping the new yard a lot cleaner addressing issues you have mentioned with the lack of long term lease in the current yard. This will be great especially when unloading decorative slate and you don’t want to contaminate it with other materials.
This wouldn’t prevent you from concreting the track areas at a latter date when you have also looked at the best way to do unloading of containers. Naturally this might also be able to be used to help with the unloading of aggregate allowing versatility of equipment reducing wear and tear on the LH60
Daniel I never thought of you as a hoarder. Having followed you since 2020 I have seen how you have always been looking at the long game. Those purchases / acquisitions have clearly been prudent moves towards kitting out the new yard whilst supporting the expansion of Ashville.
The timing of the John Deere loading shovel is brilliant as it also allows you an extra piece of plant to help maintain both the business as usual but also the new yard construction.
I wish you and the team all the best for the move across into the new yard but will look forward to seeing the standalone video.
