update, after owning these in the uk, the easiest way to install is red to positive on battery and black to negative, constant power and simply turn on and off with your phone app when needed, i did manage to program some nice effects, you go into the screen to change what mode and click on the + then for example, add number 46 (forward trailing red) and then + 47 (backward trailing red) the two modes will then loop and you have your own Knight Rider effect. hope this helps.

In my car manual the fuse box diagram tells me there are a few 10A fuses that are marked as 'spare'. I'm guessing that's the one I'm using when connecting the red wire?

Depending on the gap between the hood and the car. Each car is different but very possible. I have the led turn signal strips and the hood led strip on top.

I'm not familiar with the Altima but try shutting off the engine and test again after 5 or so minutes with all the doors closed. The fuses maybe on a time delay.

I have a 2023 Elantra. I have found the correct wire at the headlamp harness to tap for DRL, but both sides are independent and shut off when the turn signal is on. I think I have to tap both lamp assemblies and use diodes to prevent back feeding. Thinking it will be a good idea to use a relay too.

Go to your fuse box. Look for a fuse that is stays on when the vehicle is on and is off when the vehicle is off. Use a piggy back fuse to tap into it and connect the red wire. The black wire will connect to an unpainted bolt.
The wires come out on one end. With tape on both sides you can have the wires either on the left side or the right side of your vehicle. Closer to where your battery or fuse box is.
@Willy B you can remove it. A bit tidious but can be removed. I'm lazy and just left mine. I've heard other put black tape over it but I think that makes it worse.

I've ordered it, but wondering.. If the scan feature starts in the center and scans outward left and right, how will that change if you need to shorten the strip? I know starting in the middle and working your way left and right is the way to install, but does that mean you have to "hide" the longer end of the power side?
Yes. Not recommended to cut because the center will not change. If you cut make sure you seal tight for water proof and you must hide the power side to even out.

I've gone through 3 of the dynamic ones and they've all failed in less than 3 months. They look great but the wires are extremely thin. How are yours holding up?
I bought the one that is only one color, Dynamic LED strip, the package did not include any instructions to follow for safety, you know. I understand black goes to ground and red to ACC the same way you did it with a Piggyback fuse , so I guess the installation is the same for both types of led strip.

Greg I think you should have stepped back with the camera so that you could see the whole hood as the corners on the front are a very sharp turn . I have a Prius and it didn't look the best so I finished at the first sharp corners I blacked out the original light with moving it in towards the center then blocked off the light coming from the strip with black duct tape definitely looked a lot better I bought from the internet and sent it back they sent me 1.2m light strip so I only had to block off a few cm each side with the black tape but it made it look a lot better that first bend makes it very difficult to bend the light strip. Anyhow whatever suits each go particular person
You probably don’t know this but in automotive and in a lot of other cases you do not make a red wire a ground it’s just safer that way what you can do to fix your problem is wrap it in black electrical tape

I think you inserted the piggyback into the fuse box the wrong way. The line out needs to be on the opposite side of the fuse terminal. The easiest way to tell if it's wrong is by removing the bottom fuse and seeing if the light strip stops working.
You might be right. I'll have to double check. The piggyback fuse can't turn the other way because of the wire. I might need to look for a different fuse. Thanks

Yes. Any fuse will do. I will try to stay between 7.5 amp to 15amps.

No. That is your spare fuse in case something goes out. It's not connected to anything.

@Will depending on how much power your light bar is taking, I would use the battery. Best if you use a switch and a rely.

You can ground the negative to the chassis with a bolt or look for an unpainted bolt.

Are you sure you got the Hood LED strip? You should only have two wires. Black and Red.

You can set it to red and it will start at red. As far as transitioning to red from white, I'm not sure that would be possible with this kit.

How are these lights lasting after several months?
After 3 months of normal use. Still runs great. No complaints so far. If I were to change something it will get the dynamic white. Looks better IMO.

What kind of car? Most likely you just need a reset. Disconnect the battery, wait a few seconds then connect it again.

Download LED LAMP app. On the home page hit the plus sign on the top right. Then on the left tap CAR. Then select RGB DMX
