This technique has helped me so much. When I ask barbers or beauticians if they can add texture to my hair they always seem confused. I go home and do this myself and it gives me the look I’m looking for. Thank you so much.
@@blickluke I swear 95% of barbers/salons have zero idea what they are doing and the problem is it's impossible to find the 5% that know what they are doing because so many people get easy cuts that the 95% of ass barbers don't get weeded out.
@@TheBynirnEXACTLY! I don't live in a big city so it seems like the barbers in my area are always 10 years behind on the trends/techniques or even just skills in general. Everytime I ask a barber for texture they give me shorter hair instead of just admitting they have no idea what I'm talking about. And conversely anytime I ask a professional hair stylist for subtle minimal blonde highlights they give me a full on ombré. I can't with these people .
@@iwastedmynamechange4644 it wasn't bad it's just looked weird around some places because I probably cut to much but this summer break I'm getting a haircut for real this time I've just been waiting for school to end.
@@kn3e.failurebarbers near my place are hella cheap they do like 2 dollar haircuts but got very few equipment and no technique. I am also scared to do this crap on my own I’ll prob just go to a men’s saloon
I just did, and technique 1 was a bad idea. I don't think I ruined my hair per say, but it's not a good technique for beginners, since it's hard to tell what your actually doing with the scissors.
i've been cutting both my sons' hair since time and can't wait to try this, thank you! one of the easiest to follow barber tutorials i've ever seen. please take my sub lol
I dig the texturizing techniques but that left side is lookin rough imo, why would u fade so high essentially creating a hard part/undercut look with longer hair hanging over only from the back?? Makes it look badly blended & kinda bowl-ish
I’ve realized guys who can only mainly scissor cut have issues with fading and guys who fade like beasts, struggle with texture or scissor cuts. I’ve always found it easier to mix the two and get my own style preferred result (I was the “only fire fades guy” at one point lol
I've never been able to find anyone cut as precisely as you. Look at how straight the sides of the mannequins hair is. They're perfectly straight. Everyone I get rounds my sides and makes it look aweful so I have to straighten them out myself. And they can never do the top right like this. So here I am learning to do it myself. Thanks a ton for this demonstration. I love your approach
I've been buying left handed texture shears not realizing I could flip them😅 when it comes to my shears though I do need left handed or the hair bends like crazy despite the tension I use
A person who can really cut hair he just lost her hairdresser many years we loved her I know you're a barber not a hairdresser but since then 6 years until today we haven't found one decent hairdresser but many that say they can cut hair they take our money and do a bad cheap cut I've decided to cut my hair at home cuz I can do my hair just as good as your crappy cut thank you for this video thank you so much
Finally someone who gets straight to the point 🙌🏽

I get that look top too. Its irritating
Same i do this 😂 how we r living same life
The real question is how are hairdressers/barbers confused by what seems like should be a basic technique in a barbers arsenal

Love you Matt. You make hair dressing so easier for me. Now my hair cuts done so faster, with confidence!
Since the pandemic began, I've been cutting my own hair with mixed results. Can't wait to try your texturing techniques. Thx for sharing!
Did it work well?
Not too bad.@@RealAsianEthan

Great! Now I just need to have an actually skilled barber move to my city 🤣
Great stuff btw. some pretty helpful tips!

What’s that brush holding the hair in place at 3:25 called?
Gonna have to show my mom this
I like his preference for holding shears I was hoping I wasn’t the only one out there
T24 andis detachable skiptooth razering/fetherd/texturising blade does rhe same as texturising scissor
I have thin hair like my scaf is visible sometimes should i use this ??
Messed up my hair real bad a few minutes ago, this video saved me from looking like a clown

How to tell my barber for textured fringe and low fade on side?
“Yeah bro I want a textured fringe with a low fade on the sides and back”
@@marcos-4469 thanks mate that really helps 🙃

Excatly how is like my hair but longer on top with more layers
No one around me can do that. You say texture and they do small point cuts on end. Doesnt work on fine thin hair
