- Today we'll be showing how to test and replace a rear oxygen sensor. Typical symptoms of a bad oxygen sensor include hesitation, increased fuel consumption, stalling and rough idling. This specific vehicle is a 2010 Subaru Impreza with 120k miles.
Common Trouble Codes:
P0037 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 - circuit low
P0038 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 - circuit high
P0137 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 - low voltage
P0138 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 - high voltage
P0139 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 - slow response

The way this guy explains his video is the best I've ever seen.
Very focused, easy to follow and understand without getting sidetracked. Clearly should continue making more vids.
😊
very good! thanks! 😎👍🏻
very detailed and good explanation a beginner could really learn from this vid👍
One note... I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that on many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles, the power feed for the o2 sensor heater comes from the ASD Relay. This would mean that the engine must be running to see voltage at the connector.
Very good thank you
Good job
clear explanation and high quality video thank you.
Thank you. Hope it helps.
Hy gus, which brand and model should i use for rav4 2007 4cylinder?
Thank you for this. I have the P2271 code on my 2015 Impreza with a FB20. Is this a similar fix? Error is "O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich Bank 1 Sensor 2".
I had P037, I replaced the sensor with the extender, the car gets better but I got 3 codes later, P037, P038 and P039, any solution or suggestions please. thanks great video.
I thank you for this video its great! Is this the same for a 07 nissan murano?
Did you jack up the vehicle or removed the wheel to gain some space?
Is this the same for 2004 xterra
My 4.2 a6 had this same code would it cause the car to not rev and barely move in traffic.
Did you change and notice a difference?
@@joepearlzz8504 Yeah I changed the O2 sensor and the fuel filter and it worked fine after that.
What sensor is the correct sensor if I have the code P0138 p0037 HO2S2 (B1) on a 2016 Nissan QQ thanks 🙏
Excellent walk through.
Stevie Wonder could do this!
Hi brother, I just change my bank 1 sensor 2 brand new and the throw me this code I don't get it, any ideas, thank you much in advance 👍
Ok
I have a 2013 Yaris with no downstream sensor. Yet, I am getting a P0037 - bad heating circuit sensor 2. Anyone have an idea why?
I have an 05 murano,it has a P0420 code. I checked the readings for the voltage, the O2s11 has 0.290 to 0.300 volts only and the O2s12 has 0.580 to 0.640 volts. Is sensor 1 bad? And what about sensor 2 ? It looks like the voltage is ok,right ? What about the cat? Thanks
My sensor is putting out only 1.8 Ohms while the wiring is receiving 25 volts. Bad sensor?
My Toyota Camry 2010 reporting about upstream and downstream
If I remove my cats will I get these codes?
🙏🏽
I replaced the old downstream sensor for a new one (~130K on 2001 Saturn SL2) and got a code P0038 after ~10 mi. I'm updating everything I can on emission trying to remove P0446. But here P0038 came, probably defective sensor. What is interesting the driving is great, no impact of that code on it. Can I clean the original sensor w/some carb cleaner and use it for a while, while I find the good sensor?
Does the region regulation has anything to do with it ?
After replacing it you’re suppose to reset it with the scanner
I was wondering about cleaning mine with carb cleaner or electric clean.
@@bigredc222 I wouldn't. Better to find one on Amazon. They send it pretty quickly. Actually I bought 2 (different brands(, and one caused a code, I replaced w/the 2nd, and that one worked good. It is for that one on the bottom, under the car (Downstream O2 sensor). Upstream O2 Sensor (by the engine), I replaced, worked w/no problems. Ideally of course OEM. But maybe cleaning also will work. I'm not that expert.
@@olenaerhardt7725 I can get an oem sensor at Rock auto for $85 or one from Amazon for $30.

The pin in the picture with red mark is not in the video !!
Which one exactly we want to check ??
