A great channel that I heard of from Corporal Kelly. I’ve been involved in the martial arts ever since watching Good Guys Wear Black in the theatre as a kid. A brain tumor eleven years ago wiped a lot of my memory. But as Bruce Lee advised, “don’t pray for an easy life. Instead, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.” Luckily, the Qigong training was still in the ole memory banks and helped me learn how to walk again. Cheers 🤙

Where l grew up we fought all the time, the first lesson l learned was never turn your back to your opponent, a painful lesson.
You helped me with sliding your leg if your stance was too wide, l was guilty of that.
The Bronx where l was born was bad when l left, now forget it.
I am ready but rather not get into anything, but l will.
" Better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war " Thank you Sir.

I really enjoy your informative videos and also like to see that you remain humble at the same time. I initially found your channel while searching for emergency preparedness videos but also find your survival skills and firearms training videos to be very helpful. I, like countless others, have become a new gun owner this past year and wish to learn how to use it safely and effectively. Who better to teach basic firearm safety and responsibility than a police officer! My daughter has also begun martial arts training a month ago so, after viewing this video, a fourth element now comes into play! I truly appreciate all your time and effort to help others through your channel.

Would you consider having a "little ole' lady" course? I am 58, used to be a gymnast and ice skater, still tiny. I can still move pretty well, but I cannot keep up with you in learning the footwork, etc. Love this so much! Thank you!

Along the same lines, I'm a 72yo man with a severe balance problem. I have a rollator (a walker with a seat) that I have to hold onto. The area of Houston I live in is not the safest, especially if you appear vulnerable. Can you develop a video for people that needs to hold onto a walker or can release only momentarily? Thank Corporal Kelly for referring me to your channel.

Enjoying your channel, came over from Corporals Corner. To answer why I come back - I know varying amounts of the 5 elements you discuss, but there’s always more to learn on everything.

    E X C E L L E N T !!! as always !!!
It just gets better and better ! I can SEE that you know what you're Doing & Saying. That much is certain. I get all my Survival and Wilderness training from my old buddy Shawn, "Corporal's Corner", but I can see you're learning pretty well, on that subject. Thank you for taking the interest in that training. If you hadn't taken that course and talked to Shawn, I never would have known anything about you and your channel.
You asked us to let you know why we watch your videos. Well, here goes...
My best friends are Police and Firemen. I was Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and saved a bunch of lives, on my own, and fought lots of fire, in the department; so I accumulated lots of police friends. We hang out together, when we can. I APPRECIATE YOU and all you do as a New York Police Officer ! That's ONE REASON I watch your channel.
Another reason is that I have always kept myself in the mix, to be in the position of SAVING LIVES, not taking them, nor causing discomfort and pain...but on the contrary. I consider it a great reward, just seeing someone walk away from a disastrous situation, from my efforts, either by myself or with team help. So I have never really learned Self Defence. You are up, on all that; and I pick up on how to's, do's, and don't's...Lots of stuff I've heard before, but you actually SHOW, step by step...made simple for beginners to learn. I APPRECIATE THAT.
I've been threatened, so many times, when I have gone to rescues, like maybe in the area of a moon-shine still or something. I would just say, I don't care what you're doing, I'm here on a rescue. MORE are coming ! I feel that it wouldn't be a bad idea to at least know the fundamentals of Self Defence. You show that...patiently walk us thru it and tell about it as you do it. It makes since that way.
Then, your knowledge on FIREARMS...you sounded just like my HGCP instructor and it sounds like you memorized, word for word, the TN. HGCP booklet. I like how you demonstrate how to use safety at the RANGE, as well as when you're cleaning weapons at home. I like that you don't SLAM a magazine into your pistol, you identify the bullet end of the magazine with your finger...all the little tips and tricks of someone that is fluent with firearms.
I have watched all your videos, I think, thru binge watching; and love seeing new ones. The foot-work, I always thought, was for crowd pleasing in the ring, but you told us different and made it make since. I have a good sized pantry and try to keep it stocked with self contained meals, potted meat, "sorry-dines" as Dad called Sardines, spices and what-nots. I keep 10 gallons of water, to use as washing and drinking water. Watching the "Possum Mentality", I think you called it, has it's merits, too !
YOU have a lot of good ideas and I like the way you think ! You vent onto your page and I like it ! Keep on making videos. We've seen your Kissing DAWG, and I think I saw a video of your kids in an episode. I'm interested in anything you'll make a video of. My Daddy always told me, "If you want a good set of tires, ask a tire-man what he would put on his OWN CAR, and then take HIS advice and put 'em on your own car ! You are good at what you do. I'm taking YOUR advices.

I'm a big believer in all 5 of your elements. Defense/offense, firearms, prepping, survival and the warrior mindset... all quite essential in my opinion.
I would add a 6th - physical fitness training... endurance is key in all other endeavors. People who have never fought in real life would be amazed at how much energy is required for a 5 minute fight. Same notation for folks who plan on bugging out in a SHTF scenario - physical training! If you're a fit man you should be able to hump a 30 kilo ruck for 30 klicks.... women should train with a 20 kilo ruck.
Whatever goal you have - ex; run 10 klicks - start by completing 10 K any way you can - run, walk, crawl even but make the distance. Keep doing it and, in no time, you'll hit the 10 K running all the way.
Long winded answer, maybe, but if you're not in good physical condition then you will be the weakest link.
Never say die! If you feel some pain then you're alive! Stay focused and on your square!
Thanks again, Kyoshi... good topic and very well presented! Keep it simple 👌
I would like to add a piece of advice for you, Kyoshi: don't wish for more time but absolutely do make time for R & R... recharge the batteries with down time and family time. Advice from a dude approaching 60 who probably worked too much.

You ROCK, Warrior!!! I’ve been putting off the PT (physical training) aspect in all the elements. I’m still recovering from two shoulder surgeries, and it’s taking forever. I have some content in the pipeline on this topic. I don’t look much like a fitness instructor, but I’ve done PT my whole life and teach it everyday. I’m just not where I wanna be personally... and didn’t want the interweb Warriors shitting on me lol.

@@FiveElementsTactical It's not so much what we look like it's more about mindset. I'm 5'8" and 171 pounds - I look like the perfect "grey man" - no one gives me a second look.
My advice is always move forward a little bit every day and you're bound to hit your goal. I was wounded in my late 20's - 14 entry wounds on chest/abdomen, two large gashes on my left neck and throat and a through and through left chest into lung and out my left side. Only 60% mobility of my left shoulder remains... all that to say - improvise, adapt and overcome!
We used to say "you piss with the dick you got".
I have no doubt that you will crush whatever you set out to do.
      Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

    • @FiveElementsTactical
      @FiveElementsTactical  3 роки тому +2

I’ve only done SWAT work on tv/movies. I used to do a lot of “special ability extra” work. Now I grab it when I can.
As far as tactics at work. I’m assigned to a Warrant squad, and focus primarily on arrest warrants. We do entries, room clearing, and searches pretty often. Sometimes we team up with other agencies and/or task forces, and do more high speed and dynamic stuff.
