For some reason as you opened the bathroom door in that trailer I was expecting Mr. Gavin Sandcastle to be sitting on the crapper. And I’m sure he would have needed your lens cloth again.
Excellent video and content. A pleasant surprise and a bit of a photography break to satisfy a need for adventure. Well done. I will watch it again. Thanks for sharing.
Music, pictures, scenes, narration mixed once again in an epic upload! You provide us with high quality content and we will always be thankful for that! Keep it up Mr. Adam Gibbs!
That was quite the adventure and I think you can now say that you are an "accomplished" ATV operator. Beautiful country to travel through. I loved the basalt with the little rusty iron deposits all over. I did Google the mine and the indigenous land rights case. I am happy to see that their case was successful, I know that the story has not always been in their favor but as an American, I can say that Canada is way ahead in this area.
Despite wishing for more epic photos I really liked this video. Almost an A part and B part. Once you got into the ATV adventure I was glued. It was exciting to follow the uncertain road you took us on. I only wish you came out with a shot or two. But it shows how huge our country is and it dawned on me that you have a million chances to take photos of areas yet unphotographed. All you need is a friend with 2 ATVs, some wine and lots of gasoline! ;) Thanks Adam.
Wow what a place! That mine was so sad really such a throw away society! Like you said, surrounded by all that beauty! Bloody long way to go on a quad mate fairplay👍🏻
see.. now this is the kind of Hiking I can get behind.. I have been contemplating picking up a 4 wheeler... because I have ran out of photo gear to buy lol
The traditional territory of the Tsilqoht'in Nations is amazing. For the people who think the mine was mindlessly abandoned, Google Taseko mine and Indigenous title case, it's a recent and very important issue for the people of Canada. (Not that they pay attention to Indigenous issues anyway, sadly) Love the columnar basalts. BC had so much great scenery for landscape photography. Thanks for sharing these.
Hi Cass, I'm not sure but I think you may be thinking about a different mine. Is the one you are referring to the mine at Fish Lake? If so, the area has been a veritable battle ground for years. I did a blog post about it years ago and encouraged people to sign a petition that was circulating. As far as I know, Fish Lake is not within the Tsilqoht'in title lands but it is a sacred place to them and they have fought hard over its preservation. It would be a disaster for that mine to go in there and I dearly hope Taseko gives up on the fight...but I doubt they will.
Those columns look a lot like the Devils Post Pile in Mammoth Ca. I need to go back there and try my hand at getting some good photos. That bridge was sketchy! Great video Adam.
Absolutely Brilliant! I loved this episode Adam. It's nice to see great photos and friends joking around, but the adventure story that you presented here had me glued to my screen the whole time. Well done! I hope you share more videos like this as time goes on. 👍👍
The character of those basalt columns along with the unimaginable passing years since their formation simply blows my mind! Amazing content. Thank you!
Wow, that truly was an epic adventure but definitely outside my comfort zone so it was thrilling to live it vicariously through your video! I am so envious of all the wonderful places you visit on your travels.
Dear, sir! A big THANK to you once again, for sharing this amazing video with us, your many subscribers! So much inspiration and beauty you are giving us! Wishing you many safe and wonderful nature photography episodes in future! Greetings from Sweden!
What an adventure! I loved the drone footage. It proves that a drone could in fact be a life saver and a time saver, because it may not have been possible for you to see all the deep snow on the floor of the next valley without going up that high. The terrain you drove through looked like a recipe for a serious tumble with your ATV. Too steep to be safe. Brave souls.
Hi Adam. You guys are so blessed with the absolute and God given beauty that you have in your backyard, it absolutely astounds me every time watching your videos. With regard to the mine it is quite heartbreaking to see something like that be allowed to happen.
well... Jeremy almost had me convinced at the 9:00 min mark to stay home... but at least ATV's beat hiking... helmets boys, HELMETS... Go first and go FAST on the bridge! Next time pack the tents etc and make it an overnighter... thanks for the adventure
That was quite an adventure. Those basalt blocks were cool as was the old mining camp. I'm a volunteer mapper for Open Street Map and so I was interested in mapping the mine as well as the long road leading to it. My research suggests that it was a gold mining camp, Pellier Camp, operated by an outfit named Valor Resources. The nearby bridge over Falls River was named Pelleir Camp Bridge. Alaska is strewn with such abandoned camps located far, far from any roads. I'm always amazed to learn of the amount of effort and money people have spent on the chase for gold. The road and camp you showed in this interesting video demonstrated that again.
Adam, That looked like a great adventure you both had. I quite enjoyed watching this so thanks guys for taking us along for the ride. Some great pictures as well. Cheers.
Good stuff Adam, I was just telling some friends in BC how I think dirt bike and ATV adventures could really spice up Adventure / Landscape photo locations. It works wonders with snowmobiles. Always wanted to do a horseback photo trip through the Chilcotins. Ian
17:20 - I love seeing abandoned places . Especially when they are in such beautiful locations like that one. If that were in the UK, everything would have been nicked years ago, and the council would have built houses on the land. I agree with you though. They could have tidied up a bit!
Your friend has a keen sense of humor as in, " Adam, U go 1st. " Don't stray from the path, LOL! The music along with the video on this presentation left me with an eerie feeling. The abandoned mine workers camp had a post apocalyptic feel to it for some reason. Very well done Adam... Bill on the Hill... :~) PS: How's the bottom end feeling? LOL!
Groovy flying intros, straight into trepidatious basalt heights ~ very suave directing Adam! I mean I felt hyperlapsed into titling textures so sharp my fingers are tingling... 23:20 =love button. C~SA. b.t.w. guess this sorted the email revert ! ;)
What a shame , for men to leave all that stuff behind in such of beautiful place. It shouldn't had never been there to begin with. Once more another great video. Thank you.
Wow! I live in BC, in the West Kootenay, and can get away from people in about 15 minutes, but that is a different scale altogether. The basalt columns was amazing, and everything else. Thanks, and hope you get to do it again. I'm certain you have places you want to explore next time. Any wildlife? It was hunting season and the rut, I would have had my long lens available all the time.
Man, you jumped into the deep end with that ATV ride! Those basalt columns are fantastic. Too bad Canada’s legal system doesn’t provide a way to go after those dirtbag mining companies. I think U.S. companies have to post a huge bond now before starting operations to deal with a situation like that. I felt bad for the fish in that stream. I can only imagine what a gold mine did to the downstream water. Pretty cool day trip - thx for filming and sharing it with us.
I’d love a poke about in the mine itself. Guessing you didn’t go in? There’s some cracking abandoned mines in BC , mascot for one looks amazing. Just a shame it’s so far from where I am. Though I think nosing around old industrial detritus probably isn’t your cuppa.
"The Hills have Eyes" entered my head when you went inside the caravan in the middle of nowhere lol absolutely stunning place though and an adventure with the quads going through it all. Thanks for sharing , beautiful shots.
absolutely beautiful country. It would be hard for me not to want to take a photo of EVERYTHING. Im sure that ATV ride was not the most pleasant adventure for sure and that abandoned camp looks like something out of one of the scary slasher movies, i expected somebody to just come running out of one of those campers or buildings....
What a great trip. I'm sure the traverse of the talus slope at 16:40 had you puckered up. Only those trees at the bottom would have stopped your slide down. The columnar basalts are some of the finest examples I've seen, right there with Devil's Post Pile. That reddish color from the Crustose lichens is beautiful, at first I thought it was weathering from the basalt mineralogy, but after seeing the detail of your tack sharp image I knew it was a lichen. Had to look it up. The side lite images are my fav from this set. Some aerial drone footage/stills of that basalt cliff would be nice. I'm sure there's a story about the abandoned mine, I'll surely waste some internet time researching it. Thanks for another fantastic vlog. Hey! Where's Gavin?
I wouldn´t have done that ride with the back I have. No way. It isn´t that good now a days. It was for sure a raw real wilderness, to travel for you guys and a bit scary when passing that old Bridge, Huu!.At least you had an adventure for life and you succeed to came back with 2 gorgeous images at 22:23 and 22:22.
The Ghost Camp was interesting. You would think that any corporation to get permits to setup a camp like that would need to carry insurance... to be sure that if they went bust or a project is done and they did not remove what they built or brought in, would cover the costs of removal.
Hope your bum has recovered from all that bouncing around :-) What an amazing place. So wild and beautiful. Sacrilege that people can leave all that junk behind though.
Really interesting adventure, Adam! I can see how that area might yield some spectacular images and I enjoyed the drone footage too - no rangers up there to get sniffy about permits either.
I would love to do that. We don't have many places in Australia where you can ride quads. I have mixed feelings on it, in a way its annoying because id love to do it but on the other hand I can imagine dickheads would smash around ripping everything up and spoil it for everyone.
You're right about that and I like you have mixed feelings. However, in the north country life is very different and getting around isn't quite as easy as it is in the south so used responsibly I think ATV's are very handy and save a ton of time
Jeremy doesnt like them. They come loose, get stuck and the rope he is using is from his father inlaw who used the same rope back in the 50's? his father inlaw was a trapper and swore that rope was way better than straps. Just saying!! I said the same thing, lol.
So Adam what the hell?, I reached out to Gavin and asked him if you two guys had a Tiff, he said you had a new Vlogger buddy, you two need to make up with him and make a new video together, Life is too short to be mad at each other lol
Adam stepped out on me first. At least that other vlogger isn't here on Vancouver Island. Perhaps we can patch things up but Adam needs to call me first....
That opening drone sequence is just sublime. And those basalt columns - amazing! You could swear they were man-made.
For some reason as you opened the bathroom door in that trailer I was expecting Mr. Gavin Sandcastle to be sitting on the crapper. And I’m sure he would have needed your lens cloth again.
Next time Adam, can you buy the chamois style lens cloth? Those micro cloth ones don't feel good on the bum....
Thank you so much for letting us follow along on this adventure! What a beautiful place.
Excellent video and content. A pleasant surprise and a bit of a photography break to satisfy a need for adventure. Well done. I will watch it again. Thanks for sharing.
Fun looking adventure. And there is no better subject for a photo than geological formations.
Amazing, I love this kind of Trip ,congratulations
Nice product placement at 3:15. The ATVs really did get you back into some areas that would be worth spending time at.
Ah you noticed that, affiliate link below :-)
Wow looks like an epic place, what an adventure 👍🏻👍🏻
What a great trip!
You should spend more time with Jeremy. He takes you to amazing places.
The Chilcotins are BC's best kept secret. I can't get enough of that area.
Music, pictures, scenes, narration mixed once again in an epic upload! You provide us with high quality content and we will always be thankful for that! Keep it up Mr. Adam Gibbs!

Yeah I rented the ATV off of a friend of Jeremys. I am considering getting my own at some point.
Two of my favorite hobbies photography and ATVing!
Wow what a place! That mine was so sad really such a throw away society! Like you said, surrounded by all that beauty! Bloody long way to go on a quad mate fairplay👍🏻
It was a ways thats for sure, lol
Super super beautiful
Awesome video Adam, cant believe people were allowed to leave that junk in the wilderness, thanks for sharing.
see.. now this is the kind of Hiking I can get behind.. I have been contemplating picking up a 4 wheeler... because I have ran out of photo gear to buy lol
That would be cool Nick, you can come up here and drive it around :-)
Beautiful opening scene Adam !!! and 17:00 just wow.
Fantastic explore!! We've seen few mines in BC that are like that. Like frozen in time where people just bugger off. Thabks for the video Adam.
Epic place drone footage is awesome
These images and videos have a thread to the roots of your success. VERY well done Adam!
The traditional territory of the Tsilqoht'in Nations is amazing. Thanks for the info!
Mine rejected for environmental reasons 2010 & 2014?
January 2017 - Attempted revival of dead project that has no support from local First Nation.

Very good dronefootage Adam. I liked the las photo very much.thnx for sharring.
Those columns look a lot like the Devils Post Pile in Mammoth Ca. I need to go back there and try my hand at getting some good photos.
That bridge was sketchy! Great video Adam.
Fantastic video as always, I love the 'new' format with the RAW/processed comparison also your editing comments. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely a backcountry location. Glad to see you overcame your apprehension about going that far. Great vlog!
Congrats on 30k subscribers Adam! Enjoyed the ATV series and particularly this one
Adam you are my hero! What a impressive video! Please more!
Fantastic trip! Amazing wilderness! It's strange seeing that kind of activity just abandoned. Loved the video and the shots! 😊
Absolutely spectacular 👍📸
Absolutely Brilliant! I loved this episode Adam.
It's nice to see great photos and friends joking around, but the adventure story that you presented here had me glued to my screen the whole time. Well done! I hope you share more videos like this as time goes on. 👍👍
The character of those basalt columns along with the unimaginable passing years since their formation simply blows my mind! Amazing content. Thank you!
More "real" wilderness, a pleasure to see, thanks for sharing another fab video Adam, cheers.
Wow, that truly was an epic adventure but definitely outside my comfort zone so it was thrilling to live it vicariously through your video! I am so envious of all the wonderful places you visit on your travels.
You should have picked up that Tim Horton mug for Gavin's Christmas present!!
Dear, sir! A big THANK to you once again, for sharing this amazing video with us, your many subscribers! So much inspiration and beauty you are giving us! Wishing you many safe and wonderful nature photography episodes in future! Greetings from Sweden!
Wonderful video! Thanks for sharing.
Wow what a landscape
Wow, thats a serious adventure you guys took on! Looks like an incredible place to get to spend some time exploring. As always, beautiful shots Adam!
waw so interesting to watch.. stay safe guys
Fantastic, I like that you’re mixing it up.

Amazing video Adam , great to see these areas that I’m never going to see for real , thanks for sharing your experience and some great images as well
Awesome adventure! Also, awesome video footage! The DJI Osmo Pocket footage is stellar.
well... Jeremy almost had me convinced at the 9:00 min mark to stay home... but at least ATV's beat hiking... helmets boys, HELMETS... Go first and go FAST on the bridge! Next time pack the tents etc and make it an overnighter... thanks for the adventure

Extra fuel , camping gear , overnighter. Great vid.
stunning locations
The basalt images with that light are really great. The abandoned mine looks a bit creepy but also cool to photograph :-)
Adam, That looked like a great adventure you both had. I quite enjoyed watching this so thanks guys for taking us along for the ride. Some great pictures as well. Cheers.
Ooh looking forward to this old mine mate and the scenery looks stunning. And those Basalt columns are awesome 😀👍✌
So much I want to say, but there’s only one word! Epic! Really enjoyed, saved shared and as always loved it!
Cheers, Mali!
This was EPIC. The last set of images were spectacular. Hey AG, fixup a few cabins and you can hold workshops up there?
Awesome video! I thought you might have camped at the mine site and visited the glacier in the morning. Great work. Cheers Alex. 👍
Next time!
Inspiring video as usual !
Great video. Hope you gave Jeremy some beer money!
Good stuff Adam, I was just telling some friends in BC how I think dirt bike and ATV adventures could really spice up Adventure / Landscape photo locations. It works wonders with snowmobiles. Always wanted to do a horseback photo trip through the Chilcotins. Ian
Have you spent much time on a horse? I think I would pick the ATV, lol. Cheers, Ian!

Didnt see a lot of wildlife except for one black bear and two grizzly. Moose are hard to find since their decline .
Looks very appealing on my iPad from a warm bed 😂
I know that reality is different 😱 - Fair ploy to you both 👍
As someone who treats people who are injured from motor vehicle accidents, I would recommend a helmet.
Great drone work as usual!

Cool adventure but you should have done the glacier, plenty of places to sleep though bedtime companions might have been an issue lol.
Next time!
Definition of apprehension 'Bricking it' :-)

Hope your bum has recovered from all that bouncing around :-) What an amazing place. So wild and beautiful. Sacrilege that people can leave all that junk behind though.
Great adventure Adam but you should abseloutly ware a helmet when driving an Atv, safety first as you often say 👍
Look out! I think I hear some rumbling. Hope it isn’t a rock slide. Hope you have a life insurance policy. Lol! 😉 Great work, as always.
Great experience and video Adam. Did you encounter and wild animals on this adventure?
Yes one black bear and two grizzlies. :-)
Always amazed at how many can ruin even the most beautiful places, so mindless.
Sounds like a great helicopter destination, just a thought. 😏 After all, there is a helipad there. Great drone work, nice images. Rock on!
Cant afford a helicopter :-(
@@QuietLightPhoto Maybe a collab with this guy bit.ly/2BLJ3CN 🚁
Really interesting adventure, Adam! I can see how that area might yield some spectacular images and I enjoyed the drone footage too - no rangers up there to get sniffy about permits either.
👌👌👌
Was expecting to see some zombies in those sheds…
And there's me with a nackered back after hiking 2 miles into waterfall country in Wales last Tuesday 😂😂😂😂
Wouldn't have been much of an adventure if you choppered in.
👍
Wow Adam! Making this video not for the faint of heart. I admire your grit but question your sanity.
ATV look like from HALO
I hope somebody paid financially AND went to jail for abandoning that mine, absolutely criminal in an area of natural beauty.
I would love to do that. We don't have many places in Australia where you can ride quads. I have mixed feelings on it, in a way its annoying because id love to do it but on the other hand I can imagine dickheads would smash around ripping everything up and spoil it for everyone.

I’ve been on motorcycles and atvs for 40 years. Please buy your friend some ratchet strap. All the rope is just too tedious.
Jeremy doesnt like them. They come loose, get stuck and the rope he is using is from his father inlaw who used the same rope back in the 50's? his father inlaw was a trapper and swore that rope was way better than straps. Just saying!! I said the same thing, lol.
