while well intentioned i guess u are, this is a classic fallacy which is the most subtlely pernicious indirectly defeatist thinking, bcuz in fact, it's only planning and preparation and motivation (which comes from righteous purposes and saving one's women and children from barbarism), which makes this sort of success happen. NOT divine intervention, which there are no known examples of in the history of war, and the history of war is very very well documented in fact, vs other aspects of history.

Experience alone is a true force multiplier. Our American Army never saw combat in the Middle East like what is being waged in Ukraine. We now get a glimpse of how future conflicts will look like. Despite being outgunned and outnumbered, Ukraine's agility borne out of necessity has kept the more rigid and slower acting Russian forces on their heels. Also, their ability to discern when to trade ground for time has been efficient and nothing short of brilliant by bleeding the Russians to unsustainable rates. If Ukraine were given the modern NATO toys, F22's, Eurofighters, M1Abrams in big quantities, they would be scary.

Probably one of the best interviews I've watched of a retired General. Mick Ryan is not arrogant and is looking at the war from the perspective of a soldier which is not generally the case and he is right. The Ukrainian Army has developed into the best army in the world. Ukrainians are uniquely qualified to adapt and change and I am not completely sure why. If something doesn't work they change their strategy. While Russia just throws bodies at the Ukrainians to use up munitions the Ukrainians use surveillance drones to find the enemy location and then the mortar companies hit the largest contingent and watch as the rest retreat. I just watched a UATV video that put the trainees through a real war like situation and they keep repeating the maneuvers to build the muscle memory needed so when there is a building on fire and the sounds of battle and a lot of smoke they can still function because they trained under pressure as close to real war conditions as possible. I think that Ukraine's training is excellent but NATO's needs an update. Minimum standards means what - getting a C-+ on your skill level. I think they have to step it up a notch so that all NATO forces are ready and able to fight like the Ukrainians. There is one troop of Ukrainians that fire from a mountainous area and they do get return fire and the commander put it quite bluntly. We don't want young men, even though they are well trained, they scare too easily. We want men between 30 and 50 who don't jump like rabbits every time a round lands nearby.

Orcs have so many artillery pieces and ammos but the real question is: "were they able to hit the Ukrainians"?
I seriously doubt of that based on video footages showing how Ukrainians destroyed them with pinpoint accuracy day and night. Of course ith the help of International community intelligencs finding where the orcs are stationed and are moving to and send the coordinates to Ukraine for them to pick and hit without missing.

@@argellaguardia9390 If what you say is true, how is that the Ukrainians haven't destroyed all the Russian artillery as well as all the Russian forces around Bakhmut with their super pinpoint accuracy and won the battle of Bakhmut? They haven't done so and I think you have fallen for their propaganda. The first casualty of war has always been the truth.
My understanding, and I could be wrong, is that at least half of Bakhmut is in Russian hands and that they have almost surrounded the town, leaving only one road under constant shell fire open to the Ukrainians. It is quite possible that the the Russians are seeing this as an opportunity to draw in and to destroy the Ukrainian army at Bakhmut by not closing the road altogether so that Ukraine continues to send more troops into the line for them to be constantly mauled by Russian artillery fire. In a battle of attrition, which this is turning out to be, Ukraine has not the manpower to waste defending Bakhmut and it could so easily cost them the war.

At this point in the war it's apparent to me that the real difference between Russia and Ukraine is the quality of their staff and intel work. A Commander is only as good as the staff that supports them...from General all the way down to Battalion staff. Clearly Ukraine has been building this capacity since 2014 while Russians drink vodka and sell equipment into the black market. Why? Because Ukraine saw the gap and Russia didn't think it needed to.
Commanders receive orders from higher and issue orders to their subordinates. Those orders are turned into plans by the staff officers and their noncoms. Everything a unit needs is planned by the staff...fuel, food, water, ammunition, comms, task organization, training, movement coordination, contingency plans, medical, artillery and air support. The Commander alone cannot do this though they are the final arbiter of a good plan and the decision maker when there needs to be a change. The only evidence I see of Russian competence was the decision and ability to get troops back over the Dnipro at Kherson.
