It Finally Happened - Sad news for Age of Sigmar and the greater Warhammer community

- I go over the truly disheartening news that Games Workshop has began an official mass culling of many ranges of Age of Sigmar. Devastating both armies and many players. I go over what the fallout is and what the implications for the future as we head into 4th edition.
My SCE army went from around 3500pts to 0pts . I don't feel like it was a good thing for me. Especialy in my area where legends=no played against. Will GW give me 600-700$ to get a new SCE now that they invalidated my army?
Since GW sale Squats again, the termn now should be Sacrosancted
Oh god, now I'm actually worried that Savage Orcs wont make a come back in The Old World, even with Bonesplitterz going away. My first assumption was that they're just gonna come in a second wave, but now I'm terrified that its not happening. Like, Savage Orcs don't get their own entry in 'Ravening Hordes' - they're just a loadout option for vanilla Orcs, that was strange but people assumed that maybe it was done not to stept onto AoS' toes; but a quick ctrl F also reveals that 'Savage Orcs' are not named anywhere in the lore either. Now you got me worried that the same thing is happening to them that happened to 'Skaven Slaves' and many other aspects of the lore; whatever creatively bankrupt brand managers that are steering the ship these days decided Savage Orcs / Bonesplitterz are "problematic" and got to go. I really hope that doesn't turn out to be the case.
Yeah that’s what I thought too. Than when his mentioned it I realized yeah they didn’t mention anything about porting them over and checking they aren’t mentioned anywhere in the books or lore for OW. And they haven’t hinted anything about updates. GW might just be writing them out completely 😢
Think about this: can we even trust GW now? Are there any guarantees that the GW will carry out the “Great Purges” not only in the Age of Sigmar and 40k, but also in the HH and Tow?
@@Vasily_Kotickovitch ToW - for now - has one great adventage over AoS & 40k. GW's "no models means no rules" philosophy doesn't apply here. Everytime GW discontinues a model from the main systems, the rules go with it. Thats thankfully not how ToW is designed (for now) - here rules are allowed to exist even if theres no kit to go alongside with it. And instead of seperate units for every weapon and a million different characters with minor differences, we have loadout options that don't bloat the rule books. Hopefully this will make ToW much more resilliant to purges than its colleagues.
@@DerOrkthat only exists because it’s essentially become the dumping ground for older fantasy kits that GW wants to resell at full price. Trust me enjoy it while it lasts as that’s not going to last forever. Once they feel something has legit reached its end (aka not selling anymore) they will just discontinue completely. They may keep the rules available as TOW is not a mainline game but you won’t be able to officially buy the model anymore.
It was a good thing, and I'm saying this as someone that owns almost evey warband. It was bloat. I only used the warbands in my std army because I already had them from buying warcry boxes. I would rather see warcry be its own big thing. I like that I could use them, but it wasn't necessarily what I wanted in my army. It was just a points gap filler/chaff

Almost all BoC models are old.
The new models that are cut are from a different game. No precedent set. This is a false equivalence
And you're still getting a full year with new updated rules. So it's not even like it's a slap in the face, oh you just bought into BoC, sorry, your army is invalid. No, you can play for a year, and during that time convert the models into something else.

Yeah only because GW didn’t update them. Also you don’t even know what you’re talking about they got new models in AOS. A headstone, endless spells, a new hero etc. not much but it was enough to imply they were staying.
Oh yeah, great a full year of no actual attention, obviously little rules or balance consideration and a built in expiry date at which point they are legends. Aka gone.

@@gower4235 like I said, it's better than nothing. I don't disagree that it sucks, and they could have easily found a way to keep them. There's apparently some internal civil war going on between GW proper and Forge world.
As far as new models, the herdstone may be new, but it's also just terrain. The endless spells could easily be made universal and yes, I said ALMOST all the models, excluding the new Beastlord.
As far as their being "undivided" what I was saying is that it looks like GW wants all the chaos armies to follow a chaos god, and slaves being the one that can choose any of them. BoC doesn't fit into the pantheon.
You can disagree with me and can feel however you want. But don't try and tell me I'm on some "high road". It sucks, I get it. But I disagree with some things that are being said, that's all.

@@markpandelidis2079 Better would have been GW to handle the situation and for you to bring up the subject without sounding condescending and and honestly ill informed on peoples responses. So yeah things should have been better.
Regardless its like 5 new kits and was more than enough evidence to conclude that dropping beastman was not the initial idea.
Well they can choose a god or undivided, that is literally the whole point of Be'lakor and his new followers in Eternus and the Chaos Legionairies. They are definitely not making chaos forces god exclusive.
I do and you can keep your opinions but telling people they should essentially "get over it" because GW tried to cushion the blow with honestly half-hearted promises we all know they'll only keep up for a few months tops just like all the other times. Also no, it is a slap in the face because collecting is a time consuming task and being told your army literally has an expiration date due to an obvious game siloing change is bad. And people being upset about is valid. They don't need an arrogant commentator telling them cliche lines they should just get over it because apparently they got thrown a terrible bone by GW? Get outa here, if thats all you can say you have nothing new to contribute. If what they are doing is annoying you ignore them and finding something else to do. People have a right to grievance a couple days after.
