I loved Cruel Intentions. I was also a teenager when it came out, so I fit the intended demographic. I also think it's a great adaptation and update to a 18th century French novel. Earlier movie versions were Shakespearean in style. Not my thing.

Christmas Vacation...oof....that breaks my heart. If you only watched 30 mins, you didn't even get to when Cousin Eddie enters the movie...ICONIC
I've hoarded some books and VHS that I still go back to occasionally, people have suggested that I turn to digital media, however I like having DVDs and actual physical media even a few comic books
I have about 1k DVDs and about 500 VHS tapes. Not a lot I can do different with the VHS, but I bought some sleeves that I can put the DVDs and the covers for them in that allows me to put about 100 in the space of 10 DVDs with cases. Boxed up all the DVD cases and put them in the attic. I alphabetized them and separated by genre and it saved a ton of space. I even got some rectangular cases where I can fit one case with 300 DVDs on a single small book shelf.👍👍👍

That Exorcist DVD is the director's cut that was re-released in theaters back in 2000. I have the same DVD that I bought back when I worked at Blockbuster Video. Best job ever. 😆

Collection physical media is a ton of fun, especially if you have enough space to store it. Although you never know, some of these may become valuable a few years from now. If you kinda have a gut feeling about keeping something, don't get rid of it. :)
I did a donation run of my duplicate DVDs and CDs to the library in early Dec. I didn't have all that many.

Also, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is way more fun in 3D. If you ever get a chance to see it on 3D Blu-ray, it's far better in 3D and the 3D effects are enormously creative in it (better than many horror films in 3D).

The Exorcist the Version You've Never Seen is a remastered theatrical cut with extra footage like Regan's spider walk. It's the version I swear by and worth a keep if you ever want to compare and contrast differences.
Is it with the different ending? I remember the altered ending being particularly bad. Friedkin adds some unnecessary comedy
@@123rockfan there is a lot that was added in, so I'm pretty sure it was. As I said, version you've never seen is the one I know best, so when I saw the original in theaters a few months ago there were scenes I don't remember ever seeing put in. At first I thought this was a third version of the film, but looking back I think I like the director's cut so much that I only know that one and can still be surprised by the theatrical version.

Darkness fall is a great movie have on Blu ray oop. Worth about $160.
You might want to hold on to that Exorcist DVD, as it has the original theatrical colors transfer, with grey-greenish tones, rather than bluish 'color corrected' later transfer that's on all BDs and UHDs. Director approved it, but even though I appreciate Friedkin's 'don't give AF' behavior, I also never hold any director or DP as the last and only correct opinion, as they tend to change their minds (or lose them), and alter their own creations for the worse.
I still haven't watched that "9" animated movie, despite owning it on Blu-ray for like 15 years, but I understand hating a type of animation, like I can't stand the kind used in two new Spider-Man movies and the most recent Ninja Turtles, ugh.
Vampire Hunter was very disappointing, haven't seen it since its release, but I'm that 'hoarder' collector, so still keeping the BD. Anything I didn't hate, I keep, for 'library purposes'... 🥴

cruel intentions is based on the book dangerous liasons -- they have an adaptation with john malkovich and glenn close that apparently slaps.
chevy chase is definitely a menace but absolutely worth watching in community.

Awesome collection. I would definitely add Cruel Intentions (Blu-ray), Ginger Snaps (Blu-ray) and The Exorcist (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) to my collection.
By the way, Carrie 2013 remake and the Child's Play 2019 remake will both be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in March.
I have that same Darkness Falls DVD. God it's bad. I liked the opening scene and had high hopes and it falls hard off a cliff.
Are you using media mail when you ship? If it's books, movies, and cds it qualifies. It's way cheaper than standard rates. I sent you 50 movies one time and it cost like 13 bucks. It would've been closer to $70 for standard shipping. It's super worth it.

It's the USPS. Next time you ship just say you want to send it media mail. I believe the beginning rate is like $4.
Do you have any 2nd hand Movie/music stores in your area? you might be able to get cash or trade for other movies you might want for your collection. I usually use Goodwill as the last resort for the tax credit at the end of the year.

Im completest when it comes to collecting. I collect DVDs and CDs. Even if it's a movie I don't like I will still give it a watch to goof on and crack jokes at. With some exceptions.

Yes, books are also physical media, of course lol and also I have that exact same clippy dvd of the first exorcist! But I think Friedkin said that the theatrical cut is his “directors cut” so the version you’ve never seen has additional scenes he didn’t care about lol

Yeah that cover for Friday the 13th Part 7 is pretty awesome, can't imagine parting with that one! And yeah it's definitely in my Top 3 favorites in the franchise as well..
Not shocked that you didn't like Cruel Intentions.. bunch of annoying teenagers pretending to act like sophisticated adults haha.. I haven't seen it in forever but I was obsessed when it came out, fell in love with Selma Blair and Reese was cool, it has a great cast.. it was literally the coolest film in the world when I was 15 lol.. I want to re-watch it in the near future just out of curiosity, not sure if I'd still appreciate it or just cringe the entire time lol..
Christmas Vacation is a classic but it's not a film that I expect everyone to automatically love.. humor is subjective so I get it..

Darkness Falls is one of the worst horror films I have ever seen. Awful filmmaking. I'm with you on that one. Cruel Intentions was always a movie I enjoyed and one I would like to revisit again. Christmas Vacation gets better IMO but some of the jokes are inconsistent, I'm surprised you didn't enjoy that one more but I kinda get your take... nice video, as always!

I could not get into Cruel Intentions but I wanted to because of THE CAST. I’m betting it’s really only known for because of how “s3xy” it is but by 2024 standards it’s pretty tame.
Same thing with Wild Things with Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, and Kevin Bacon. Idk if you’ve seen that one
I can't remember if Wild Things was genuinely good or if I just loved it for all of the wrong reasons when I was a teenager lol..

Whats wrong with your audience!!! Lol!!! Seeing stuff like RoboCop Arrow, Id volunteer to pay shipping and make a donation towards your travel funds for those movies that you are taking to Goodwill!!!! They will mark them up drastically if they are anything like my local goodwill stores.
