I frequently mourn the lack of Barbarian in my physical media collection!! That’s at the top of my list, followed by Hush.
Oh I’m so here for geeking out over physical media! I love my collection and looking through it and the fact Barbarian isn’t on bluray, let alone 4K, anywhere is WILD

Google Play Movies and Amazon have it for streaming in 4k for $14.99. There are methods to download it and remove the DRM for offline use. It's a moral gray area, but without a Blu-ray release, I have no issue doing it when there is no physical release.
I've never understood why streaming services don't do physical releases. Most collectors use them and collect. Plus they could just license the titles out to boutique labels like Arrow or Scream Factory and just collect a check. Put a time table on them. After 2 years they're eligible for a release. Boom, money. Seems simple enough.

Hush is coming to Blu-ray. It was announced this week.
What I would give for a physical media release of Tick, Tick... Boom! That movie became an instant favorite of mine when it was released and my shelf looks so sad without it.
For me, Orson Welles' last film, The Other Side Of The Wind, which Netflix paid to finally edit. A masterpiece which deserves at least a Criterion release.
Hellraiser 2022 4K would be up there for me! I’d of course love. 4K of Stranger Things (although I have those first 2 VHS editions) Fear Street Trilogy Box Set would be epic!

I really like that Shudder are putting out physical releases of some of their stuff. I live in Australia and the Shudder app here isn't as extensive as the US version but it's still good and I support it because they also support their audience with physical media.

Stranger things is and has been on physical media. I own all of them. That was a rare exception cuz they knew it would be popular. I got em on Blu-ray and dvd

I have two rooms of dvd shelves filled and also like looking at them looking for a title which is difficult because their not in order. Another problem is i want to rewatch almost everyone i see and dont know if i want to watch movies all day. Maybe, they are better then people

Given that Criterion Collection has released editions/DVDs of several streaming exclusive movies (like Roma, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, Marriage Story and The Irishman), I’d be SHOCKED if we didn’t see a Criterion release for Killers of the Flower Moon. Admitedly, the movies I mentioned previously are Netflix movies and Flower Moon is Apple TV+, but still
no exit was so good! i also don’t have hulu right now but it would become a comfort movie of mine for sure. i remember prey being released to psychical media after everyone kept pushing for it so there could be a chance though i agree it’s not likey.

Not sure if anyone else pointed it out but Palm Springs definitely has a legitimate release, but for whatever reason it only came out in certain European countries like Spain and Germany. No UK release is frustrating, no USA release is absolutely baffling!
My top picks for movies that need physical releases will always be 'Outlaw King' on Netflix, 'Noelle' on Disney+ and 'The Vast of Night' on Amazon Prime. I'd pre-order them all in a heartbeat if I could.

I love palm springs! I saw it in a drive-in theatre in 2020 and I managed to import a bluray from spain. I would also love the netflix film Klaus and the Disney series the owl house on bluray

Its so stupid that some of these streaming services hold back their best movies from being purchased. I am a collector. Just because I buy physical media doesn't mean I won't keep your service. Sometimes I legit don't feel like going upstairs where my DVD player is lol.
I have so many old movies that I want hard dvd copies of because all I have are VHS copies. Prom Night 2 is one of those that is SO hard to find.

I really wish they released Wendell & Wild with a bunch of behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentary tracks, storyboards and previz, Key & Peele dialogue recording outtakes, X-Ray Spex and Fishbone sing-alongs! (AND a "The Art of" book AND figures/plush AND buttons/pins)
Not horror, but Reservation Dogs absolutely needs a box set - Sterlin Harjo and crew deserve it!!! Commentary tracks, audition videos, cultural/historical featurettes, bloopers, Lil Mike and Funny Bone music video(s). Also, a book of select screenplays would be amazing because some episodes were masterpieces!!!

Big ditto on all of this but my dersperation had me buy bootlegs of all the seasons of scream that didn't have an officiciap release. Otherwise, i dont vibe with bootlegs whatsoever. Streaming companies need to get their act together for all the collectors put there. I want a physical copy of the new hellraiser and texas chainsaw to finish off my sets, so bad! 😅
Oh man, hard agree on CAOS and FEAR STREET! Two other Netflix movies I’d kill to have a physical release of are THE RITUAL and I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE. Free the films Netflix!!!

I don't love buying bootlegs, but I've been waiting my whole life for the OG cuts of Star Wars in HD and if Disney won't release them and I have to pirate it, then take my money.

I have no idea, but I'd assume Killers of the Flower Moon will definitely get a DVD/Blu-ray release eventually.. I'm guessing maybe a contract with Apple made sure the film streamed for X amount of time before a physical release, but who knows.. but The Irishman was exclusive to Netflix but got a Criterion Collection release a year later.. the Fear Street trilogy would make sense, but Netflix probably doesn't think the juice would be worth the squeeze unlike with Stranger Things and Wednesday, but I'm just guessing.. it's worthy of having its own release though..

I looked into Flower moon, part of their contract with Apple TV+ was to not release the film physically. And it honestly looks like all the movies on your list are in the same boat. Really lame on the streamers part to hog all the content for themselves. Just makes us more dependent on them and wifi

Honestly the only streamer that is willing to release their original content onto physical media as well is shudder. Gotta love shudder! But I’m also impressed with all the movies on Hulu too. Seeing as you are too, I think you should get Hulu again, I mean movies is your job lol
My two cents on physical media collecting however is that not everyone has enough space in their abodes to accommodate a large collection, I mean you know all about that, but I can’t deny the aesthetic of having a personal library. I think it really shows the personality of the collector/cinephile

Hey Kylie, this sucks but I have to leave the Patreon for a while. I gotta hold onto as much money as I can for as long as I can. I already cancelled Hulu a while ago and I just cancelled Peacock. I keep forgetting I had it anyway. My money situation is not great. I've been trying to get disability. I recently appealed their last rejection. So much crap to fill out to appeal it! The core of the problem is the for-profit system. Capitalism.
The film industry could be non profit. It could then spur more creativity, more interesting films.
John Carpenter pointed out that the film industry doesn't take risks, do not want to fail. Which then stifles creativity. But, yep, the problem is capitalism and the industry is run by capitalists. Who don't care about art.
It would be nice if they were more consistent on what they release. Like Netflix having only the first two seasons of Stranger Things on physical media is annoying.

That would look cool like a box set. They can get really creative with the packaging. In all honesty even if we just get a blu ray I would be happy. But not sure there is a big enough fan base for this series. I love chess so anything we can get I’ll support. A few months back I was able to get a complete Narcos series blu ray. A mix of US and German editions but at least it’s the entire series I can go back to.
Killers of the Flower Moon has international releases, but Apple doesn’t want to release it stateside because they need those precious subscribers 😔

Also not a movie but a show that REALLY REALLY needs a physical media (especially since it already got a really cool one for the first 2 seasons): Stranger Things Season 3 and 4 (I can only imagine how a VHS box set of season 3 would look like🤩)
