    Happy New Year! 🎉
Big shout out to you man for being a positive and passionate podcast that’s not either super political or self-help structured. I finished the Images And Words in depth video and re-listened to a lot of your stuff (James, John and Roy Khan among others).
All the best man! I consider you as the secret 6th member of DT. I’ve also listened a lot to the Awake album which I think is often overlooked so close to Images. Would love a in depth analysis of Awake!
    Best,
    Øyvind from Norway

@@KungFuKuya Happy New Year to you, too! I love the Awake album, and may have to do something for that one. Cheers!

awesome, I'm working thru your Astonishing book and love how the characters are coming to life, so I can't wait to read thru SFAM. also question: where did you get the beanie? Also another question, I love your longform lyrical/musical analyses, would you do this for other albums in DT's catalogue? EDIT: ooh, I see you already did this for Images, please keep it up, I love it! If you did literally every album some day, that would be, well....astonishing.

Thanks, man! I honestly don’t remember where I got the beanie. I think it was a Christmas present a few years back. And given enough time, I may work through all the albums. I definitely am have a few I’m eager to do walkthroughs for!

Peter, have a great new year, what a great way to start the year with such an extended video!

Love this. So much of what you’re pulling out of the album is what I myself was hearing while listening to it. Also your insight into the bands writing process is both awesome and a great privilege! I’m jealous. As a musician, songwriter, and videographer/film maker it make wish I was their videographer just so I could catch an ounce of their crafting process and learn how to apply that to my own works.

@@zachgeorge811 Thanks, man. And glad to hear you’re a creator, as well. Sounds like DT serves as an inspiration to us both.

Just got my copy a few days back and started reading - and based on what you said at the beginning about spoilers I guess I'll get back to your video after I finish the book ;) Just want to say I'm really happy this book exists cause this is my favourite album of all time and I never really expected something like this to happen. And I'd love to see a movie about that story someday. Thanks Peter and have a great 2025!

I have not read the book yet, but The Astonishing was AWESOME. That's one of my favorite albums by Dream Theater and greatly inspired me out of nowhere to write my own original story, which I've never done. I'm looking forward to reading this book, and the way you lay out your case, analysis, and methods of development sounds very familiar to my internal voice, perhaps the shared inspiration has something to do with that. I had no idea you had a UA-cam channel, or video for The Astonishing, so I'll be hopping on that next. I appreciate your work greatly.

I thoroughly enjoyed the long-form Astonishing video (yes, I watched the whole thing although it was over a couple days) and am looking very forward to watching this video in its entirety so I will put aside 5 hrs this weekend to check it out. Take care Peter. Absolutely LOVED the book!
