just one thing, you are using some kind of professional mic to record your voice, but there is lot of humming and echo bouncing off from the room walls. it's very irritating for videos more than half an hour and you are constantly just talking. please improve on this.

I own a classic 350 signals bs4 2019 manufactured as well. Bought it as used 6-7 months back. The previous owner maintained it very well. He did 19k kilometers on it while I bought from him and in last 7 months the meter went to 28k kilometers. So I drove it around 8-9k kilometers. So I'm going to write every pros and cons I've had by riding it 8k KM. First thing first, when I first bought it I felt so happy as it gives a good amount of vibration which shakes complete body which I liked obviously but after riding it for a week or two you'll feel no satisfaction of the vibration as it will be normal for you. About mileage I get average 40 which I consider good as it's more than 190KG with the accessories. And for long ride(I've done approx 360(180+180)), you'll get no back pain(6 hour journey) but obviously buttt hurts due to seating for long period. It's really good for highway riding if you go within 80 Kmph as the handle vibrates when I touch 90kmph. Plus when a big truck goes really fast near you, you'll feel no pushing which you do in other bikes. So now lets talk about bad things. My front tyre grip had been lost and during rainy season I dropped the bike twice(while pushing into garage) while getting in to my garage(As garage is little higher ground level). And due to heavy weight maybe some problem occured with allignment and now while I try to leave the handle while riding, vehicle goes on right side. Another problem is your have to fill the tyre pressure every 10 days as I keep it 35psi and after 2 weeks it goes to 23-24 psi(I am hardly 60-65kg/ with pillion lets say 130 max). Have to clean chain often or it gives very bad sound. I have spoke wheel a puncture occured once and it's really pain to disassemble the wheel alone as rear design is not so good. But you'll tend to manage it after once or twice. And big big disappointment, it's not designed well, It's chassis breaks. Mines broken. Actually I used to sit on top of it while keeping it in side stand. Did it several times and after 2 months of purchasing it, I noticed while washing it, the chassis is broken near side stand. If it was broken completely Engine would have had disassembled. After finding no solution rather than changing chassis, I went to a weilder and weild it for 200 rupee. Now I park it in full stand. Maybe 6 more months I'll keep this bike, then I'll sell it as classic gets good resale value. It's true when people say, "Haathi mat paalo.". Company ko haathi banana hi hain toh frame bhi acche se banaye, frame ki naam pe bas ek pipe hai. And you can't keep it everywhere because there's a fear that it will get stolen, because it does. It's very easy to break it's handle and start it by cutting wire. But to be honest, it gives me a good vibe while riding. I feel more mature and confident riding it compared to when I ride a MT15. But as a student, MT15 is makes more sense I guess. Maybe I'll buy MT15 next. But the ones who earn by themselves and has good amount of money must buy this bike as 2nd bike because it's good for long tour and you must maintain it very well. I like DIY and I do most of the things by myself but changing Engine oil that too cost 1200-1300 in interval of 3.5-4k km is not justified at all and you've to open 3 bolts seperately. Engine oil leaks if you don't put any gasket sealant while putting bolts. And battery is bad in my BS4 bike. If i don't start it for 3-4 days I'll have to kick it for 8-9 times. Till now didn't found any major issue rather than rear brake piston calliper issue, chassis problem and battery. In BS4 models the chassis is really bad. Never think about buying it. And clutch cable is bad as well. I previously used one which costed 97 rs hardly lasts 4 months. Now use BS6 one costs 185 and it's good. Maybe it'll last one year or more.
    Edit:
    1) Rev karne mein dar lagta hai, lagta haii engine tut jayega
    2) Fuel tank full nahi kar sakte problem aata hai.
    Edit 2: Nov 25,2022
Rear disc brake caliper mese oil leak kar raha hai bleeding screw se hokar. Company se puccha price 3800 bolraha hai which is overly overpriced. Pata nahi kya karu ab kuch din esehi chalana parega jabtak koi cheap alternative nahi milta.

Now imagine that how frequently I have ridden my motorcycle. Not even a single bolt has come lose on my Mojo. Also I did Leh Ladakh entire circuit in last May did 7.3k kms in the tour. I was one of the people who just blindly followed my dream of geeting a RE. Got a Classic 350 in early 2018. This was my first bike, I learned how to ride on this bike. I felt that the bike was like my son called him Guddu.
Emotions aside any RE bike even the new ones are good till 10k kms after that you start finding troubles. Everyday before going to office I used to be unsure of what will happen today. So I moved on got another bike. Completer 35k kms and sold it (insane resale values TBH 😁)
I still dream of a RE, but I know emotions are not everything. A brand needs an extensive service network because they know that their bikes need excessive servicing. 😁

I am riding a Splendor for almost 15 years. Ran 200000 kms and it's running fine. It's only status statement that l own a bullet. I bought one when self start was first introduced and after 3 years sold it because it started generating vibration, riding was not smooth as was in new condition, rusting problem, chain problem and so on. It became a headache. No tubeless then and after one midnight puncture l dared to leave my native place after 7pm with it. Splendor is much reliable. The way 350 is found for second hand sale in abundance proves that people are more interested in working two wheelers rather than style statement. Still when l see a new bullet 350, it attracts me but my previous experience is annoying.

Very honest, straightforward and to the point sir. I own a Harley softail heritage( purchased recently) and a classic 500 (2012).
As a company, RE has come a long way - i can definitely say. But what you have said today, no one will ever have the heart to come out and speak openly, even though they know the problems are there. but only a few like you address it and the end result is - everybody benefits from that. Keep up this good work. Stay as you are sir - down to earth, humble .

  • @p.a.sudhir7951
    @p.a.sudhir7951 Рік тому +11

    Classic 500 had 42 N-m of torque.
RE isn't suitable for diehard tourers. It is a motorcycle that you use for weekend trips and to be ridden at a leisurely pace, mostly on paved roads.
The lever that you were speaking of is actually called a decompression lever that you use to bring the piston to TDC by opening the exhaust valve and thereby letting go of the compression in the combustion chamber and making it easier to kick start the motorcycle. Got to know this from my friend who owned a RE. This has also been explained very well by Pete Snidal in his bullet manual.
I completely agree with you when you say the RE owners are okay with their motorcycles not having trouble-free operation. Even my friend had numerous problems with his motorcycle and when I asked him why he still owns it, he will just retort saying, you know nothing about motorcycles. You just keep riding your plastic ones that are made for people like you. I never used to argue with him, bcoz he had lot of riding experience.
But I agree with every word that you had to say.

Bulu bhai I 100% agree with your opinion. Recently I bought 390 adventure & I am a very responsible rider. Many of my friends & rider groups started calling me chapri 😞not because of my riding but just because I own a ktm bike. I told them company never becomes chapri it depends on the rider.
I can clearly see a chapri element in most of my Royal Enfield friends who blindly support their bike even after huge reliability issues. These owners not all but most of them use loud exhaust without ecu remap & feel macho while riding. Most of the owners lack riding skills instead enjoy these bikes just by how they feel.
Still some of my foolish friends think himalayan is powerful & faster than my 390 adventure because it is a 411cc.
On long ride I smoked their interceptor 650 with my 390 adventure. Their face went blank 😂. Definitely they lack knowledge in understanding Power to weight ratio which is the most important aspect in drag race.
I admire 650 twin but recent launch of Super meteor disappointed me because of very bad ground clearance 135mm 👎 not practical & too much weight 241kg with 90% fuel in tank 🙆‍♀️.

Bro, story you were telling happened to me on Engine and Performance, with RE. CLASSIC 350. 2010 model.
I don't what happened in 2014, while driving, suddenly something broke out in engine and chamber had a Crack. Need to replace entire, kit, costed me 67k in showroom service.
My love did end, I payed for service and painted it and sold it. It took my three month salary at that time in 2014.
I became a proud owner of FZS MOLTEN ORANGE, and have no major problem except chain spoket.
But, see whenever, I saw RE anywhere, with friends, peers or any stranger driving. There is some depressing mode, I missed my RE CLASSIC.
Even by accident, I didn't attempt to drive RE, again.
Miracle happens. I strongly believe. This.
    Density encircles.
In 2022. FEB 10, I bought RE METEOR 350, SILVER SUPERNOVA.
I placed order in November 2021, it took 90 days for delivery.
Meanwhile, I ordered all additional accessories.
To be frank, with this new J serious engine, I did not face a single issue.
To agree the fact, RE was not perfect and it is even rude, sometimes.
For earlier 2010, CLASSIC after 1 year it started some unnecessary maintenance.
Even there is a regular service as per schedule. I faced worst case scenarios, I use to feed Min 3k, on an average to mechanics. That is base salary I paid to mechanic, irrespective of his experience.
But I hated for her Performance. Personally but my love , always compelled me, one last investment. But this is a series of problems, and never stopped, ended with chamber breakout. And I cannot afford to but new one, can't dare to maintain old one, landed with YAMAHA FZS.
Now, dude, since, I gave a second chance to RE, with METEOR.
DUDE, I can confidently say, engine itself is 10000 times at its best to 2010 model.
Now, it is designed in London.
It was infant born there and carried legacy, in India.
I need to agree the fact, in 2022.
When came, to decision making , I have CB350 and METEOR.
CB 350, is perfect, and very refined
Meteor is very smooth and very refined compared to previous engines.
I preferred to take RE because of my ❤️ for it didn't die from 2014, but again not dared since there is gut feel.
    Royal and HIGHNESS
I hated the name HIGHNESS. it didn't appeal to me.
Only for name, I HAVE chosen RE METERO over CB 350.
In the past, with classic 350, I was having one sided love and problematic , egoistic GIRL FRIEND
But METEOR, now is a perfect wife, very understanding, smooth handling, very very comfortable. hardly any maintenance till now. Only regular service as per engine manual.
We are in mutual sync, I love ❤️ it.
I invested 80k on accessories, to make it look perfect, and extraordinary 👌 ✨️
I am in sync with it 100% , it didn't disappointed anytime.
God fulfilled my dream , my marriage and meteor almost happened in same week.
I travelled all South India, entire TAMILNADU in last 4 months, covering more than. 10k , KMS , till date no problems.
My wife, me and bike, we are a family now.
Similar story but I got a new Rhythm, in life with METEOR, all my dreams of travelling are fulfilling now.
My wife and METEOR are very cooperative.
God's wish, and destiny. Because this was my dream in 2010, it took 12 years to fulfill.
God is great and he will match timing to maintain HARMONY.
I LOVE ❤️ ROYAL ENFIELD, whatsoever. It is an addiction and emotion at the same time. Indians are famously quoted as emotional fools, please don't be offended , I am sorry. We are emotionally very weak.
    One last thing, brothers
No one in this world is PERFECT,
Life is a evolution itself, there are no absolutes.

Now I am planning to buy a bike for my college going son & I am confused between Classic reborn & Honda Highness. I live in Mumbai & would use the bike mostly in city & occasional highway rides. Please suggest me better option. Are new REs are reliable? I was hassle-free ownership experience.

As a owner of RE for past 7 years, the bike was good only for 2 years. For past 5 years, I cant remember my bike not giving any issues for a complete 3 month strech. I made friends with many workshop people due to my frequent visits with RE. You spend 2-3k on something, and within a month, something else starts giving you trouble, you fix it...and another issue comes up and the cycle continues. This is due to poor build quality of the machine and the original spares which we buy from RE are also not good . The quality of RE has declined now as there is a rise of units sold by RE has increased tremendously in past few years. I had that RE emotion for first few years as it was my dream bike, but I couldn't stand the bike, as it forced me spend on regular basis !!!!

Well to be honest , everybody's experience quite differs because my re classic 350 bs6 UCE engine not reborn is going to complete its 2 years in march next year and i have clocked nearly 5500 kms , and i haven't faced a single problem with my bike , the bike is pretty good for my usage and the mileage of 40< it gives is pretty good for me before this i owned a bike from hero that i bought in 2018 and it was my first bike and that bike always gave me some problems , so i sold it and got the re because to be honest i pretty much loved RE for its old school engine and feel , and ever since then i have been very happy and on the other hand my friend also bought a bs6 re 350 uce second hand with 5000kms on it and since then he has rode it 15k and he has changed the clutch plate, chain sprocket and some other parts so i think it isn't the same with everybody and the rusting issue that RE is famous for, i have never faced it because my bike is usually parked in my garage under shade

Bullu bhai, ap jaise honest reviewers ke waja se logo ke lakho rupe bachte hai.
I am a meteor 350 owner, who was confused between meteror 350 and cb 350. Had RE not worked on quality i would not have gone for meteor but there has been considerable improvement.
The brakes are pretty good, meteor 350 doesn't struggle at all on hills, not 0 but very minimal vibrations ( below 100 no vibrations).
When i went for my first service, i noticed that RE technicians reved a couple of bikes along with mine, maybe to test i don't know. But the old RE's had a rust, bad paint job, the whole handle and mudguard vibrating on revving but my meteor was smooth.
Looks like finally RE realised that they had to do something to stay in the game and they have made a huge jump.
Not sure how that would go in the long term, but for now I'm pretty satisfied with the bike.
I don't blame you for your views on the older REs because i would have myself never gone for the meteor had they not worked on it.

I can totally relate to what you are saying. I had RE electra after two years of ownership I had issues like oil leak, starting issues and sudden break downs during trips. The best part was during servicing at a RE auth. dealer they forgot to put the engine oil....and I had to repair the engine..unbelievable....I finally restored it and sold it after having it for 10 years. Recently I test rode the interceptor and meteor 650 loved the meteor. I asked the sales guy to be honest about maintenance issues and he reluctantly admitted there are issues. I appreciate his honesty. I still love RE but I'm finally going for a KTM 390 adv :)

My two cents (and facts), RE controls cost by sourcing below par parts. My family had original bullet in early 1970s and a Jawa Yezdi. They were so reliable but needed regular maintenance. And apart from these two, Rajdoot and Yamaha RX350 were there. Now, there are so better bikes. And as far as "EMOTION" is concerned, that's bullshit. In 1980s and before, there was no EMI options but only cash rich fellows used to buy them. You are "ABSOLUTELY RIGHT" about RE. 🙌🏻👏🏻 But now, RE is trying to improve, especially on the quality control. Fingers crossed. 🤞

I had to tune my carburettor according to the climb as it didn't start due to low Oxygen..
Once the carb was tuned, the bike didn't stop at any of the area in lahaul and spiti, did the chota dhara which was knee deep.
The bike behaved so well and gave me no issue.
Went all the way from kaza to manali via rohtang pass in one go as i didn't have time..
Rode back from manali to Delhi the next day.

And this was a big deal for me coz we never had a single vehicle in my family and affording one is also difficult. But life happened and luckily i was able to buy meteor 350.
Till date no complaints at all.
Just a little bad news. I had an accident last month in which i dislocated my pelvis bone and now on bed rest for 3 months.
But this is not stopping my love for the bike.
    Thanks one’s again.

It's pretty normal. Kick, silencer and various nuts fall off routinely due to regular Parkinson's demo given by this retarded machine.

I praise every statement of yours and the way you think for every brand and how practical and unbiased you are at the same time. Mostly, the way you think your audience as your own children whom you care to explain all the pros and cons for their good concerns.

Very genuine review about the quality issues with RE @Bulubiker , I also owned a 1st version of Thunderbird
The ride quality was excellent but I always used to visit the service centre almost every weekend because some or the other issue. Spare parts issue was really a big problem. Finally I had to sell my bike just after completing 14000 kilometres. After many years now I rode my friends Meteor 350, I was really happy with the improvement in quality of the parts.

Hi Bulubhai, I like the way you blog. My first ride was in 1981 from Jamshedpur to Kathmandu on a Std 350, 1979 model. Fortunate enough to buy it off from my friend later. God has been kind enough and I owned a Yamaha 1900 Midnightstar, then 1900 Yamaha Raider, then Kawa zx 1400R and finally Honda Goldwing naked FXB. I am back to India now and riding a interceptor 650. I still own my 1979 std 350 and I never had to kick it twice to start. It would be nice to talk to you across the table :) Ride safe

Thanks Bulu. It’s your honesty which makes people like you. RE should make good products and offer you bikes for long term tests. Thanks for your honesty.

RE Pre 650 twins was bad. I never like RE. But last year I wanted to buy my first bike. I tried BMW G310GS, and KTM ADV 390. I didn't have an RE in mind, but RE showroom was just in my way back from CHD to Shimla. I thought about trying Himalayan, it was nice, but after trying BMW G310GS, it seemed lesser.
I took a look at Interceptor in a corner and it looked beautiful. I sat on it, it was heavy. But I tried it anyway. It was glorious.
G310GS seemed pale in comparison. I wanted an ADV bike but settled for a classic street bike. The engine sound was music to my years, it sings like a V8 sometimes, if you were partially tone deaf.
I knew what I was jumping into, it may be troublesome but it is awesome, it's different and it sings.
I may not buy another RE again, but I'll be keeping my Interceptor forever.

I agree with you Bulu bhai. This motorcycle oil leaks like anything. Chassis near the stand location cracks in classic model, poor headlight and if any problem with wiring it won't start. If there is a puncture then God save you.
