This experience has been a life long ambition for me. Having driven and ridden many fast motor vehicles over the past 35 years I have a strange feeling that this would exceed all those combined for overall enjoyment and excitement. 2022 will hopefully be the year I can live this dream
It was a lifelong dream for me too and became a retirement present to myself 😎 I have to say the 27 litres of raw power on the takeoff was VERY exhilarating 😉
I bet it was! Even though my current motorcycle will reach 100 mph in 7 seconds I just know that from the moment you climb into that cockpit the adrenaline would exceed such things. I could see the emotion in your face throughout the experience and oddly it made me feel emotional too just seeing that and watching this video. I can draw on my private pension this November so next year I will finally be able to fulfil this dream. I don’t think for one moment afterwards in life you would ever look back and think about the financial cost outweighing the memory. Thank you for uploading and sharing this with us
Brilliant video David and thanks for sharing! I’m going to experience the very same in May or June next year when this pandemic hopefully has gone away fingers crossed!!
Thank you uploading ! Enjoyed this footage very much. Also big fan of the Spitfire. ML407 has visited our airfield a few years ago (EBAW). Glad to see you had a great time. Pilot very skilful & amazing in make you feel good with detailed information etc.. Many greetings from Jan & Anne-Marie, Antwerpen, Flanders, Belgium.
Thank you - yes it was an experience of a lifetime and Jon my pilot was really helpful, skilful and knowledgable .. also he and his wife both fly airliners as a day job 😉 It was also a privilege and an honour to be strapped in by the Spitfire’s owner Carolyn Grace 😎😀
Just beautiful! Very impressed that you were allowed to take the controls for a fair amount of time, and your pilot was giving you a lot of information!
Wow! What a lucky guy you are! My father worked on Spitfires and later flew on Lancaster’s as a young Polish flight engineer. A great video! 👍🏻
