A traditional Māori welcome, delivered by Precious Clark.
The prayer is to the chiefs and champions of Aotearoa, who sound their trumpets to gather the nation's people together, before extending the call to the rest of the world.

Just watched the 2015 Opening ceremony. This one makes the English ceremony looks like a pre-school production.

You obviously don't know what opening ceremonies are like. This is the best opening ceremony in history and no other can beat it, so much power to it.

What an honor and a privelege to say I'm from Aotearoa. This makes me so proud and so homesick! That Karanga at the beginning though. Man that Whaea looked stunning and sounded haunting (in a good way!)

+NuXta well here's the thing, we're up against the mighty Springboks. Both NZ and South Africa are in touching distance of becoming a three time world champion because they both have two world titles under their belts.
Liam Holton The Wallabies have two world titles under their belts too, but I don't see that they are particularly a threat this time around. I wouldn't be surprised if Argentina got the better of them. But hopefully our boys in black will come through tonight. The Boks haven't been at their best, but a semi-final showdown may see them step up a notch or two.
