You already know this Taku, but having a gf that will follow you on your interests and make it part of their lives also is a beautiful blessing. You found a keeper brotha.
I made my own pizza once camping. I let the dough rise in the hot tent. We explored the beach and then my children made their own pizzas on a fire stone near the beach. Best thing we've ever eaten xx
@@OutdoorChefLife It's actually a really BAD idea. Do NOT leave any food in your tent, unless you want a bear to tear it apart. Do you see that bear box at the campsite at 4:15? It's there for a reason. Proof your dough in that and save a bear's life. Because bears that get too used to human food may start becoming aggressive, and nobody wants that.
Taku, id like to see you make a video that shows everything you take on a regular basis to cook your meals. The staple seasonings, spices, oils, flours, and all of the other food and utensils that allows you to be versatile when creating a meal.
My Brother! I have been checking you out for a long time and never said one word, but this time, I was so moved by your video, that I had to give you mad props!!! Just an amazing guy all the way around!!! Thank you for the inspo!!!
I love watching your videos even when you don't catch anything, because you still have fun and appreciate all the aspects of being outdoors. That's what it's about to me.
PLEASE make more videos of your camping excursions in Nor Cal. I love them so much. Even when you don't catch a thing, the beauty of your surroundings and the food you make are perfect!! Please don't stop!
Taku! Man bro..I had Covid and was pretty ill with fever for 9 days straight! Your videos kept me entertained through those tough days! Just wanted to say thanks and you're super cool and a such a badass too! Cant wait to fully recover and take my wife camping and TRY to cook like you bro!! Keep them videos coming!
Dude for your third time fly fishing you have incredible form. I know people who have been using a fly rod for years and can't do it half as good as you
And usually when I'm on a lake I try to put a fly close to where they're surfacing and give the end of the rod a shake until the fly moves slightly. It makes the fish think that it's about to take off, and brings more attention to the fly. I use almost 6' of tippet on the end of my tapered leader when on a lake also. Just thought I would share how I do it as there are a million different ways
You are killing me with this great camp sight. I have camped with my fam all over So Cal and backpacked all over California. I have never eaten great food like you are cooking up. Just Mountain House freeze dried meals. Great when backpacking but no where near your meals. Another spectacular video. Thank you....................
I make similar potatoes in the oven. It's cheap, and easy to cook the night before and reheat at work. Potatoes, garlic, butter, onions, spices... all you really need
finally! The auto focus on the other camera always gave me a headache. This video quality has turned out so much better and doesnt strain my eyes watching anymore. Keep up the great work!

I have said it before but I will say it again, every Americans must go camping as part of their life experience. You will deeply appreciate the beauty this country has to offer and must be protected. Granted, I dont know about the current generation but mine were often shocked to see movies of teens going to the lake or mountain drinking beer and throwing the bottles into the lake or the woods. Really sad to see some of my favorite spot getting trash like that.
My brother’s been onto your channel since 5k subs and told me about it a year or two ago. Now I’m living in CA and this has got me so pumped about the outdoors here.
When fly fishing lakes I use a standard rod/reel and then set up a large bubble to get distance. In larger lakes i usually need to get out further than a fly rod can get me.
Wait, so the UA-camr gets more money if I watch the adds? Is that right? I will definitely watch the adds from now on at least for Taku, my bay are brother 😀
When trying to cast far in a lake make sure your tip in your follow through is closer to the water. So you want to finish pointing to where you want your fly to land. streamers wooly bugs beetles ants and put droppers on most of those.
Hey Taku, just an advice on using the axe, its dulls faster if you make contact on the rock, it would help the durability if you put a piece of wood underneath it so the axe lands on the wood rather than the ground or stone.
Glad you guys got to experience Loon Lake! It's a special place, indeed. Hope you made it to the falls on the other side of the dam. Would love to see more stream fishing videos!
just got back from a Yellowstone trip; highly recommend, its a fly fishing paradise. Even the river by our campground perfect; Brook and rainbows great top water bites 3/4 days.
I once found $10 under a boulder in the whitewater river here in the coachella valley on a trip i took with my younger brothers n nephews . I couldnt believe it that day we had no money to get back home for gas unreal will never forget it this video reminded me of that day R.i.p to my nephew no longer here with us
Hi Taku, I have a camping food recommendation for you: Whenever you have a campfire and some potatoes or corn, wrap some of them up in aluminum foil and throw them straight into the fire (the best place to put them is along the sides, by the coals or in the redder areas. Then, leave them there for 5 to 7 minutes, turning them every so often. The potatoes should stay unpeeled, but the corn can go in either way. Like with any cooked potato, if it's cooked it'll be softer. With the corn, pull it out after 5. The corn will have a nice char, and the potatoes will be soft, hot, and smokey once you peel them :) Feel free to season things however you like before or after cooking, though unseasoned is great too :)
So I listened to your advice and made the sauce today to put on my steak. It was GREAT! Even my aunt said it’s better than what she had at the restaurant. Next I want to try your smoke uni!
Got that same tent. Just a tip, you shouldn’t fish the exact same spot as someone else when fly fishing. You should try fly fishing the Truckee river. Also, great job keeping the trout wet 👍🏽
There is a trailhead right there at Loon that leads to Spider Lake. Awesome backpacking/dispersed camping and during Jeep Jamboree you can see some sweet rigs tackling the Rubicon!
I don’t know the lake at all, but the sun was setting on the opposite side of the lake. So I would assume loon lake campground, since he was on the east side of the lake?
If you're ever near the Oregon border or crescent city or Brookings I would more than happy to show you one of my favorite high mountain lakes. They are loaded with wild brook trout and are blast to catch on light fly tackle.
Taku, you make incredible food...I can only suggest you learn to home-brew. Beer, wine, cider, mead....whatever. Brewing is not a lot different from cooking. Your art and skill will easily translate!
