Slide the collar all the way down when trailering and running in rough water. It tells you that in the owners manual. You can’t fully trust the release.
Always slide the collar down to base and lock. Only takes a couple of seconds. Everyone that fishes on my boat knows this and I still watch them to make sure it’s locked.
I did the same thing but worse. Didn’t clip it in saw it start to slide threw it in neutral buddy reach for it threw in reverse. Still had to much momentum when it hit reverse bent the connecting rod on the power head. I had the boat 2 hrs and had to replace the entire power head. 9k mistake.
Been there done this. It happens so fast and sucks so bad. Mine is at the bottom of Pensacola bay somewhere. Gotta slide that black collar down and lock it when running. Don’t make the same mistake!
I had my 80lb ipilot terrova on a quick connect, had the double pin in, super tight fit so no need to use the safety pin... double pin rattled out in rough water, entire motor went overboard. 2500 down the wash
Click bait lol..... I got baited What did you lose? Looks like it deployed on a bump wave but saw nothing that looked like it came off or you lost anything?
Ahhh , I’m calling it click bait !
The guy filming didn’t even flinch ….just kept filming …. Odd lol
Well since it was a B Roll shot while riding lol the camera was mounted to boat. 🤣 my reaction was get off throttle immediately

Tailoring lol. Mine deployed while driving. Ground the housing to a numb. Lesson learned
That’s why you need a ram shaft lock
That’s why I’ve got the railblaza holder, supports it and holds it in place

It’s the operator’s stupidity for not stopping.
Yeah boats can’t just stop and I’m pretty sure that this footage is slowed down
You not gonnanstop that from happening cause you pulled back to neutral at 45 mph..ok
Lowrance has a leg that stabilizes that. Tbh it isn't hard to rig up something that's homemade to keep it from slamming
No stabilizer and didn’t have the collar slid all the way down. Totally preventable.
Bro w/ the cam just watched it happen :(
Clearly you enjoy drama as that's not a big deal, it happens when you don't support the trolling motor head and/or slow down.
That looks like Bayou Casotte
Good eye lol
I’ve done this going 30 mph it happened so fast luckily it didn’t hit the prop
Can't see where he lost it.
You’ll be fine
This happend to me it snapped the shaft ,, they sent me new one under warranty
Click bait lol..... I got baited

how do you avoid this my powerdrive just did this and broke i had to locked down and everything
Tie it down was all I could figure out
Slide down the collar that adjusts your running height. Even if the release gives way, your trolling motor will still be out of the water
Ouch
You lost it because filming was more important than securing it or grabbing it.
All was not lost completely
Happened to me two days ago
Well he didn't lose the f****** thing get it right It broke 🤦.
Fr 💀
Had he stowed it correctly it never would have happened. There’s a locking collar for just this situation
Doesn't look lost to me
been there
Horrible feeling
Mine was 3k
How’d that happen?
What? The bass or the catfish lol
@@TheRealLifeoutdoors the trolling motor
@@mattman8822 I think i possibly didn't have it latched in completely, but i put a safety strap on it after this.
@The Real Life I think lose is wrong word......
@@joshkrone4841 🤣 almost lost it , my friend did something similar and snapped his shaft right off
Another fool with a camera.
What a load of millennial tryhard clickbait shite!!
