Great video! However you didn't mention the clearance needed from the gunnel to the motor shaft though. Needs to be at least a 1-3/8" gap

Great video, but you really need to include that you need to get the quick release bracket. It's not in the title or needed. It's an extra expense, but I'm curious how to do it both ways. Without the quick release bracket, is it bolted directly to the boat?

Great job! That’s the way to do a how to video!!! Oh, is there a pull rope to lift the motor out of the water?
    Thanks
    Gary

Two years later this motor is going strong ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

Does a heading sensor make a power drives spotlock more accurate? Or only add the jog feature?

Quick question, will my quick release mount from a 2001 powerdrive accept a new powerdrive unit?

      Ben Ladik,
It should work, but the side plates have been redesigned so if you have a thumb screw to tighten the 2 plates together the side plate may get in the way of the thumb screw. You would have to use washers between the motor and the top plate to shim the motor up so that your thumb screw has clearance.
      Best Regards.

I have a 2 bank charger all hooked up to my 2 batteries with a positive and negative coming from the boat from a previous owner or factory not sure. Question is where do the pos and neg wires coming out of the trolling motor go? My old motor had a plug into the boat. The rings on the end are super small

Right but does it require to be linked to a graph for the GPS?

@@stevenwolf91no. The remote does everything. You need a nicer minnkota trolling motor that has link , basically a network port. Then you can only connect it to a hummingbird fish finder. Then you use the finder to select routes ect.
