The best male celebrity ever on Strictly. Unmatched to this day. An absolute disgrace he didn't win. He was undermarked consistently throughout the show.
2024 and I still come back to watch Danny and Oti's dances regularly. I know they didn't win (!) but he really was the best partner she ever had on the show. They danced like a dream and their trust in each other was off the scale - you don't make a jump like that one at the end if you don't really trust your partner because it really is a leap of faith. There have been many brilliant dances over the years, and some outstanding celebrities, but there is only one Danny Mac.
It honestly doesn't get any more perfect than this. Kinda left me speechless ... That catch at the end is one of the best things to ever been done on this show.. ever.
I gasped then cried at the end, it was so REALLY stunning and beautiful, they are superb, I agree about Darcy, have never seen her vote lower than Craig!!
This dance is faultless and unforgettable in my opinion. It was the best dance of the night and it was upsetting, frustrating and ridiculous that Darcy did not give this dance a 10 but scored other couples a 10 who were nowhere near this standard. Danny and Oti truly deserve to win.
His frame is disconnected, and he dances the whole thing in his partner's space. I don't know what the other couples looked like, but if you are a high level dancer it's got an awful lot wrong with it. He does move very nicely though, which is uncommon for this show.
@@deltafay1981 I am a professional ballroom dancer, and whilst I'm not the best in the world, I'm good enough to compete at International Competitions. What are your qualifications?
All of the lifts were fine to my eyes. That last leap from Oti into Danny's arms was breathtaking. I actually swore at my TV! This couple are an unalloyed joy to watch.I love Claudia, but I hope Danny wins.
I've been an avid fan of SCD since it started, and every year there is always one who impresses, but this year (series), I have to say I have been absolutely blown away by the perfect union of Danny Mac & the beautiful and talented Ms Oti Mabuse. Never have a pairing been so made for each-other. Oti is such a wonderful story telling choreographer, and Danny has certainly proven to be the best dancer SCD has ever had. Thank you to Oti & Danny for making this series the best, my winners from dance one
Them's my sentiments entirely. Dancing technique can be taught, but Danny is a dancer in his soul and that is not something that can be taught. The pairing of Danny with Oti is truly joyful to watch and I so agree that Danny is the best dancer SCD has ever had bar none. What is Darcy's problem with him though, tonight she gave Ore's AT a 10 when he clearly did a good job of walking around Joanne, but only gave Danny a 9 for this incredible, emotional, perfectly beautiful dance.
I loved Oti on Strictly so much. She is so so so beautiful, and so immensely intelligent and creative. This dance is one of many memorable pieces she crafted to get the best out of her partners. My favourite Strictly professional.
Can we talk about that section from 1:04 to 1:08, please? And that flying leap off the dock or whatever it's supposed to be?! WOW! Oti had said flying was her superpower during her new pros intro last series. I see she was serious about that. Nailed it!
I don't believe they have ever.....ever had a male contestant with the kind of sex appeal Danny emits. It's a part of his dancing and why he can handle the type of choreography Oti is giving him. I understand her excitement over getting him as her partner.
I always loved the way Danny 'handles' her. He is not bulky, but hello how strong is he?? Oti is not a tiny thing, yet Danny always lifts (and catches!!) her with such ease....dreamy.
*Why Danny Mac should win this Saturday* 1) No other celebrity has ever scored 3 10s from Craig prior to the finale, nor has any finalist score 2 perfect scores prior to the finale as well. 2) No other celebrity has had a streak of 6 weeks of receiving a 10 for each dance (to specify further: His Salsa/American Smooth both got 10s each, not just one dance for double dances week scoring 10s) 3) He is ahead of Louise by 12 points and Ore by 18 points 4) He stands to break Caroline's record of most perfect scores if he scores 3 perfect 40s in the finale (highly doubt so, but if he scores 2 perfect scores, he ties Caroline with four a piece) 5) Oti deserves to win as well for her outstanding choreography this series!
I just watched this with a warm smile all over my face. Then I gasped at the end. Gosh, that could have gone so horribly wrong. Luckily it didn't, 40/40 for me.
This is definitely one of the best if not the best American smooth ever to be performed on Strictly. Danny Mac - you were absolutely robbed my friend. You were leagues ahead of Ore(who?) and should definitely have won. Danny Mac is by far the best male celebrity to have EVER danced on the show and it was a travesty not to see him lift the Glitterball. Oti is such a stunning dancer too. Her choreography is incredible and these two really were the dream team.
Oti has got to be the best choreographer I've seen on Strictly! The mirroring is so effective and she uses it all the time. I don't understand why the other pros haven't picked it up. I've seen this 5 times now and i still completely fill up when he catches her. Stunning team. Am rooting for Danny as much as for Oti tbh.
Sheer perfection as per usual....he just gets better and better. Once again Darcey has shown she is 100% behind Ore...scoring him 10's in both dances and handing Danny a 9 for this . (then again when you have co-presented a programme with ore in the past, it would prove hard not to support him all the way wouldn't it) As usual i thank god for Craig....the only one that won't play the game and actually has integrity. Atleast the other 3 judges won't be able to get their grubby little hands involved in the final public vote
It's 2020 and this is still for me the best dance on Strictly over all the series. It is breathtaking every single time I watch it, every second of it is just exquisite perfection.
Have been dying for Danny to do the American Smooth all series and WOW!!! Absoloutely fantastic. Called Darcy a few choice names for her nitpicking and 9. How on earth can that be compared to Louise getting 9s? They are worlds apart. DANNY AND OTI TO WIN.
This was simply divine, and a breath of fresh air to see a Viennese Waltz-American Smooth, instead of the Foxtrot-American Smooth we regularly see. Incredible storytelling, fantastic lifts, and some love contemporary moments incorporated.
Why Danny Mac and Oti are still the best pairing of strictly since inception. They were robbed and it was so obvious. What choreography, the song the dance and finale was all so exquisite and delicate it brings you to tears. They were robbed, big time.

Same here, I was like 😲😲😲, it was so good but my god if he had dropped her 😭😳😁 but he didn't and it was a absolutely gorgeous and stunning dance 💖🎉😘 xxx
I'm so glad Oti had Danny last year - her first year on she didn't have much time to prove herself as a new pro but damn with Danny she got to pull out all the stops with how perfectly he captured the feel of every dance and looked amazing doing it. Definitely think Oti's one of the best choreographers the show has ever had she adds in dramatic flair and brilliant storytelling with so many of her dances and these moments (like the floor bit in this one) that are totally unique to her dances without sacrificing content. Admit to never being a big fan of the three big Latin numbers (Cha Cha/Salsa/Samba) but Oti's choreography for them makes me love them. And Danny is just... ugh. Can't even begin to describe the way he moves.
That could have easily been a showdance. I don't care if he's had training, a good dancer is a good dancer. If he'd never danced a day until Oti got hold of him, he'd still be good, he's just built to be a dancer in the same way Ed Balls isn't. It's more than just being technically good too, he has a connection with Oti, he's a showman and is infinitely watchable on the stage, the opposite of Louise who never seems to shine and is always looking at the floor. I like a performer
Who cares about training anyways? Whatever training he may have received was not ballroom or Latin training. Sure it's easier for him to pick up choreography but even nondancers are capable of that.. and Jazz dancing can only help you so much and not at all when you're doing a Samba for example. All in all, you're right ... a good dancer is a good dancer and that he is!
Little Paper Stars Can't do another week of Louise and her vanilla 'nice' dancing. She never goes there or hits out at the accents in the music. I'd be interested to know how many times he went on as Boq actually. But people, on Twitter particularly seem fixated on Danny's experience, bypassing Louise's because she comes across as giggly and shy
I have no dance experience so I go on what makes me go 'yeah' and stand and clap like a demented seal. This made me do this and also cry a little. I have not experienced that since Jay's jive. Stunning, simply stunning!

Much as I like Joe, he does not come close to Danny Mac in terms of pure artistry and such exquisite body lines.
Damn Oti! Each week I find myself falling in love with her choreography, thinking that it was the best I might ever like from her. However, each week, I find myself being corrected repeatedly... Really love this AS

so beautiful & the trust Oti has in Danny to do that...just amazing. I love this partnership and their chemistry💙 #teamdoti 100%!
I cant.. I'm...I'm crying.... That was beautiful.😢😢😢😢
Damn Oti! Each week I find myself falling in love with her choreography, thinking that it was the best I might ever like from her. However, each week, I find myself being corrected repeatedly... Really love this AS
