I've been learning Spanish for 4 years now, I'm only 16 but I can't wait to visit a Spanish speaking country in college. I know for sure that I want to speak multiple languages in the future. I agree with having a love for Spanish as well. My issue is that I can comprehend, read, and write in Spanish well but still need to practice speaking. You are a true inspiration!

I can't tell y'all how much I love this video. Perfect timing. I was looking up hair videos and came across this. Im 22 and trying to excel in ALL areas of my life. Studied Spanish for 8 years in middle school and high school and could read and speak enough to hold a convo. When I went to college I dropped it altogether. I found myself ashamed to talk to people because of how much I knew I forgot! But y'all inspired me. *subscribed*

that's very true. my job wanted a Spanish English speaker. for the secretary position. and they interviewed several Latino woman who spoke English then ended up hiring me. only a native english speaker lol. so I certainly think they do prefer native speakers that are bilingual.

You're so right about interpreting. I got to do interpreting assignments just after having a conversation on the phone. I realized though, how valuable that skill is, so I want to take my Spanish to a professional level and get certified.

This is the turning point in my life thank you all for making this video, I'm sitting up at 6 am haven't slept normally for about two years thinking about how I can really change myself and my son's lives around. Thanks to you guys' video I have made a conscious decision to push us towards learning Spanish that way we can have an advantage like you guys and so many others! Thanking you all again I really appreciate the truth and positivity and the wonderful natural energy you guys have shared with me in this video! This video just literally confirmed my thoughts and is rewarding for the countless nights I've stayed up on UA-cam and other sites looking for answers, looking for fulfillment, and looking for help. I don't mean to overwhelm you guys with such dramatics and emphasis in this comment, but you guys have awakened me to a way to save myself and my babies, to a way to SURVIVE out here! (I have student loans too and I'm a college dropout with a special needs child) I can't thank you enough! You'll definitely hear from me again. About to download Hello Talk and pull myself together. #MUCHLOVE

New Subbie! This video was such an inspiration to me! You two are gorgeous by the way! I did a mission trip last summer in Campamento, Honduras and Cordoba, Argentina... and I had a whole year to learn Spanish...but it was my last year of college, I took a year of Swedish but I only learned enough for tests and forgot it... I really wish I could go back and take that year to really teach myself as much Spanish as I could..and being in Texas.. spanish is everywhere.. I met SO MANY AMAZING PEOPLE AND FRIENDS in Argentina and Honduras, and although they knew some English, I still wish I could have connected with them on a deeper level. And most the people we met didn't know any Spanish. I still fell in love with them none the less, but I really wish I would have taken the time, to honor them even, to learn Spanish.. but never too late! I

Creo. :)

      N. Wilson I haven't decided yet sis. But I know for a fact that. I want to learn it. Then move out of the U.S. This is of course after researching all of the things available lol :)

I like your stories. I learned Spanish the old fashioned way. I met a pretty girl who didn't speak English.

Thank you so much ladies for sharing this. I am a young African American middle school science teacher and the majority of my students are Spanish. I have been studying Spanish using Pimsleur Approach (but it gets hard when I get to level 3 and I want to quit) also getting help from a fellow teacher who leaned to speak fluent Spanish in Mexico. I always ask if there are SSL classes, Spanish as a Second Language, but I guess not. My goal is to become bilingual one day and travel like you ladies :)

Great video. I'm currently struggling with learning Dominican Spanish. I too took it in high school but it is not the same. My wife is Dominican. Both of my kids speak Spanish. I'm the only one in the house that is not fluent. Your videos inspire me to learn even more. My wife speaks to the kids in Spanish but to me in English. The kids speak to me in English. Unfortunately, I cannot go live there because of work, but I do have it in my home. I need to just take advantage. Any advice you have for someone in my situation. I understand most conversation, but lack the confidence to respond in Spanish. I get nervous. I'm standing in my own way.

Um ... have your wife and child teach you. Tell then you are trying to learn and to stop speaking to you in english. Also take advantage of all free resources online. Study as many verbs and vocabulary as possible. Invest in books and courses as well.
