Other top comments already mentioned about Tsogt-Hun Taiji, who composed actual lyrics. For those who seek more information, original lyric have 2 more verses, but The HU removed them, for reason I don't know. Also fans already translated it everywhere, but original beauty lost in process. Mongolian lyrics are very hard to translate. Its quite complicated language I guess. Most words have 3 different forms. I don't know how to call them in English, maybe I should call them higher, normal, lower (respecting, normal, insulting) forms. For example "hand", on normal form its called "gar". We use it everyday's normal communication. On respecting form its called "mutar". On insulting form its called "savar". When you talking someone, you respect a lot you use mutar, for example "Please my king, give me your mutar". Vise versa when you arguing with someone you would say "f*** off, get your dirty savar off me". Those higher/respecting variations almost forgotten, no longer used in current days. Some young generations don't even know meanings. Some of The HU's songs, especially this one, composed long ago uses lot of higher form of words. Anyway original lost 2 verses are: "Онон мөрөнд аху халагуут эгч минь хийгээд Орхон Туулд агч эвчит бидэн хоёр Халх Оннигуудын газар хол болбоос бээр Хайрлан саналцахын агаар нэгэн буй Энэ биедээн эс золголцвоос Үүнээс хойш төрөл тутамдаа Эх нь ганц хүүхнээ хайрлах мэт Элдэв үйлээр туслалцах болтугай..." Now if you use Google translate or something, they would mess up. Because like I warned, Mongolian language is hard to translate. Google translator still in beta stage. Also words are quite "ancient". For example when I translate first line it becomes "When my brother died in the Onon River, my hot sister did it". Oh god, there is no one died, I don't even have idea where that "died" word came from. Also it says "hot sister" which is terribly wrong. He had affairs with his sister or what. "Халагуут" means "dearly loved", we no longer using this word. This sounds quite similar to "Халуун" current day, which translates to "hot", so Google translated it "hot sister". Successful translation would be something like: My dear sister who live near "Onon" river and Me live around "Orkhon" river Our provinces "Khalkha" and "Onniguud" are very far, but Our feeling miss each others are same If we can't meet in this life Lets meet again each our afterlives (reincarnations) Like mother loving his only son Let's help and care each others then. Anyway without last 2 verses, song is all about we all same in the end. But when you include last 2 verses, meaning is whole another level. Meantime Tsogt Taij couldn't meet his sister, who was held as hostage in foreign land. He compared his feeling to everything else, just says "he misses his sister a lot, and sister's feeling must be same too", then says he already losing hope in meet, makes wish for another life. And yes, Happiness and Love are same!
Your careful explanations are genuinely appreciated. I know that the bandmembers, as well as their mentor-producer, are very well educated and sincere people. Having a better understanding of the history, the culture, and certainly the language of Mongolia enriches us all. Your time and efforts to provide yet more knowledge are beyond generous. Thank you!
This song made me realize: Ain't we the same? My enemies and I? The people that hold me dear And those whom would see me dead? Ain't we the same? Don't we suffer the same hate, cherish the same love? Don't we all desire peace and prosperity to ourselves, our people, and our children? Don't we all deserve it? And that's why we fight
This song is so underrated! I hope one day people and fans would understand true value of this track. It is the true MASTERPIECE and should have suitable epic MV for the lyrics.

A beautiful song (in melody and words) that brings us to the theme of “equality”, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and also the Animal Rights… We are like brothers, equal in essential aspects such as pain or happiness, love and friendship, compassion, kindness or even our “animal” desire to eat and in certain circumstances to steal or kill; our dreams are identical too, just like the way we were born and will die… or the skull we will become at the end of our life cycle on earth… But if we have the same nature or "essence", we may try to master the "animal" that is part of us in order to respect other fellow humans (for example, trying not to hate who we feel above us or enslaving whom we consider “inferior”); as we grow in different environments, we develop diverse talents and qualities and these differences must be tolerated and respected (respect can and should exist among the most “unequal” people). The dream of equality (of rights, justice and equal opportunities) develops through the respect for differences, for the human diversity. With more empathy, education, tolerance and respect for the dignity of any human being, we will build a less violent or more peaceful world.
@@arthurruizborin9580 My comments refer to this song words, written by the Mongolian prince Tsogt Hun-Taiji, which reveal an ancient wisdom (already present, for example, on the ancient emerald tablet of Hermes Trismegistus); some of ancient wise men, rightly said that “What's down is like what's up”, the science ( physics) proves it when it shows us that everything is composed of atoms, everything obeys the same natural laws (the stars are the “matter factories” of the universe - we are all “stellar beings” ...). So, I think, we may conclude that if our essence is “the same”, if we are identical beings, the rights and duties should also be identical for everyone, right?
Mate, monism has nothing to do with equality. Monist theory is universal exactly because it is a clear thing to be understood, in Buddhism this is not an exception (music quotes bodhisattva, a Buddhist terminology), but it has no validation of equality, this is a rousseaunian fetish.
@@arthurruizborin9580 theories are just theories, nobody is the “owner of the truth” !!! ... In my view, we do exist in different forms, but our "essence" is identical; the laws that govern the “infinitely small” world are identical to those of the “infinitely large” world… the structure of the universe is atomic, with atoms being aggregated in different ways, giving rise to various beings (some more "equal" than others…) . However, we may be able to reach a level of evolution in which a part of the human species can walk with its legs in the air and its head on the ground, taking the opportunity to eat the stones it finds on the way, as our planet seems to be getting exhausted from our greed due to the need to satisfy our biological needs (common / "identical" to all living beings ... Unfortunately?) ...
"The lyrics of the song came from a poem written by Tsogt Taij, which was carved on a rock known as “Tsogtyn Khadnii Bichig” (Rock Inscription of Tsogt The Prince) in 1624.
chinbaa zandariya Does “bichig” mean “inscription”, by any chance? Because the Hungarian word for “letter” is “betű”, a word that seems to have its origin from Mongolian (and other related languages).

@@ChollaRanch It was written by Tsogt Khuntaij (1581-1637) one of the last aristocrats to fight for the independent Mongol Empire. He was not only a revered administrator/politician he was also a philosopher, poet and a warrior. In this particular poem he addresses human emotions both good and bad through his expression of love and longing towards his sister and compared human greed to hungry wolves etc. Using poetic analogies to tell that hungry beasts and godly benevolence can reside in a person.
This song tells of how Genghis Khan and his people think like, That everyone and everything may be different in titles, nobility, and wealth but the same in spirit and life, we all must cherish everything from the smallest and great helper ant to the high flying and great eagle. So that we may as one people can see what life truly is, in simple context we must love and protect everyone and especially the oppressed and weak, that is why we are able to conquer the world at the time and now we all must rise and rise forever and protect the earth and the people that is being oppressed by hidden tyrants as the Khans and prince of peace are here.

## English translation
A king who rules in heaven
A king who rules on earth
They have differences in existing up above and down below
Yet their notion of happiness and affection is the same
Yet their notions of happiness and affection is the same
A bodhisattva who dwells in Aginastai cave
An enlightened person who walks on earth
They have differences in existence
Yet their passions are the same
Yet their passions are the same
A henchman for a king on earth
A henchman for the king of heaven
Their colors and rituals are different
Yet their judgments of right and wrong are the same
Yet their judgments of right and wrong are the same
People who are striving to gain food and wealth
Animals who are wandering in the mountain forest
They have differences in carnal body
Yet their desires to kill and devour are the same
Yet their desires to kill and devour are the same
A person who steals from here and there
A wolf who stalks around the flock
They have differences in manifestations of body
Yet their desires to devour are the same
Yet their desires to devour are the same

A beautiful song (in melody and words) that brings us to the theme of “equality”, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and also the Animal Rights… We are like brothers, equal in essential aspects such as pain or happiness, love and friendship, compassion, kindness or even our “animal” desire to eat and in certain circumstances to steal or kill; our dreams are identical too, just like the way we were born and will die… or the skull we will become at the end of our life cycle on earth…
But if we have the same nature or "essence", we may try to master the "animal" that is part of us in order to respect other fellow humans (for example, trying not to hate who we feel above us or enslaving whom we consider “inferior”); as we grow in different environments, we develop diverse talents and qualities and these differences must be tolerated and respected (respect can and should exist among the most “unequal” people).
The dream of equality (of rights, justice and equal opportunities) develops through the respect for differences, for the human diversity. With more empathy, education, tolerance and respect for the dignity of any human being, we will build a less violent or more peaceful world.
What does monism has to do with equality? goddamit. This band is literally NS.
Monist theory is universal exactly because it is a clear thing to be understood, in Buddhism this is not an exception (music quotes bodhisattva, a Buddhist terminology), but it has no validation of equality, this is a rousseaunian fetish.
... and no, we are not the same, we are aspects of the same thing, we exist in different forms and ways.
From west 🇮🇳, hello. We are listening.

Если бы вы узнали слова этой песни о чем поют можно просто свихнутся на месте. Здесь поётся о том что написал выдолбил оставил потомкам в 1621г. на стене горной отвесной скале прямой потомок Великого Хана, Цогт Хунтайдж о трагической борьбе против Цинской Манджурской империи, о потери независимости, о предательстве, о распада государство ит.д очень горькой правде судьбы, трагического конца
This is probably way better for Mongolian speakers than non-speakers since the lyrics are so majestic.
That is no doubt true. And yet, somehow, we all understand . . . ❣
@@ChollaRanch The spiritual mesage is clear and whoever wrote it had a great perception. Nice :D
Indeed it is the best one for me from the album
@@telfargoldbeared6735 I suspect the songwriter was Dashka (Bayarmagnai Dashdondog), the HU's mentor and producer.

The fav song from Gereg album
This song tells of how Genghis Khan and his people think like,
That everyone and everything may be different in titles, nobility, and wealth but the same in spirit and life, we all must cherish everything from the smallest and great helper ant to the high flying and great eagle.
