Yamahas the most reliable outbourd engine there is my yamny 115hp always gets me Home never had an issue. Number 1 is reliability number 2 is a full boat of fish number 3 I have number 1 and 2 that's all that matters.
Agree. Good video and the yammy sells itself to anybody who's used them.I am very wary of sales pitches and deals on other leading brands. Look what happened with 4 years maintenance free. It's amazing how many people believe the amazing deals and warranties they give with other brands. Yamaha always have a competitive price and good service. I look forward to owning 1 again.
Haven't seen you guys say much about or rig any boats with a VF150X (SHO). I assume you Aussies get them as we do in the US. Got one on my new 20' center console and love it. Feels very gutsy getting up on plane and is quite fuel efficient.
Yes we do offer in Aust but as most boating is off shore and we only get 20in legs not many boat suit They are also a lot more money in Aust I agree they go like a dog shot in the bum
Tohatsu, they are really good and all made in Japan, i have the boat outside my door and use it much, Tohatsu 9,8 now , that is total reliable and i drive it into scarsy populated areas on islands one hour each way
After buying a new 2020 F50 and then driving my mates 5yr old Suzuki DF50 on the same hull. Makes the F50 seem gutless, idles rougher and uses lots more fuel. F50 is only 2v per piston too.... No hour meter on the F50. Troll mode is pretty much useless too.
Buying an F70 tomorrow for my new Starcraft fishing boat. Got a 2011 Yamaha T-50 on my Bennington 328 light cruising hours, zero problems never been in the shop
I recently bought yamaha 150hp. But one engine vibrating at low rpm. Why is that. I hav cleaned injectors and replaced speak plugs as agents instructions but problem remains same and rpm reduces while travelling
I had a Johnson 225 2004, could not hear it at low speed and can talk at high speed. My new Yamaha 300hp 2015 sounds like a race car over 5knots😔 Very noise, not happy, any ideas?
So you went from like a two stroke v4/v6 to a fourstroke yamaha 300hp V8 and you are shocked that it is louder? I mean after all V8 are usually on race cars and sports cars but I don't know cuz we have a four cylinder 150hp and you cant hear it from driving seat of the boat when low rpms
Great stuff Justin. Can you give us your thoughts on the other brands? What bits you like, what you don’t and why? Why you think two-stokes shouldn’t go above 40hp (yet we have Evinrude for example going to 300)? Would be really interesting and helpful for ppl interested in buying coming from someone with so much experience.

@@BrisbaneYamaha , I've had a Johnson, mariner, Suzuki, Evinrude, Yamaha, mercury and an Evinrude ETEC, in that order, and the Yamaha (15 2 stroke) is the only one that self destruct from the inside out due to corrosion. The block literally split down the side. It was only 6 years old and well looked after. I'm sure it must have had a manufacturing defect, but because it was out of warranty no-one wanted to know about it. Anyway, I think yamahas are good motors still, I just got a dodgy one. When my ETEC shits itself I'll be looking closely at a Yamaha F40.
It all depends on the boat and the weight you carry I’ve done heaps of tubing from a tinny with a 25 and I’ve got a jet boat which is 225 hp had just as much fun with the 25 in the dam
What’s your thoughts on the new Mechanical F200 from Yamaha? Looking at getting either the F150 or F200, or the Digital F150dec. It’s on 6.6 glass boat
With out knowing the make and model A 6.6m boat I would go with f200 xb unless it’s a centre console where the cables make tight turns and then I’d go flyby with a f200 xca I don’t know any 6.6 boats in Australia I’d it’s a pontoon boat I’d go f150 because they are famous for powers and reliability and low fuel use I love them so much
Brisbane Yamaha thanks, I’m in NZ and been watching your videos. Hope Yamaha is paying you for all the content your creating. It’s a Haines Hunter sf600 www.haineshunter.co.nz/boats/soft-top/haines-hunter-sf600-sport-fisher-limited-edition/. Planning on going with the F200XB.
I wanted the do- gooders to keep 2 strokes below 40hp too But a few ignorant greedy self interested government suck ups Won it’s a bloody disgrace It was all about stopping Chinese power equipment run by the three big stands And outboards copped it because marine doesn’t have a functioning organisation to protect our rights
No no no, they are wery good at small if use it much, i have a polyethylene pioner 10 with a 9,8 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke, wery good and noot much noise and mainetance is extremely easy.Oil change, no filter, just a permanent strainer. But it,s important even on a small one to have max what the boat is recommended for. That boat is recommended for a 8 to 9,9 light version and live well on that application.
Currently in marina with one of new 25 hp broken down, throttle housing stuffed 9 months, serviced 2 weeks prior….pfffft bullshit, white water marine Gold Coast sorry not Brisbane
If built before 2010 yes Corrode like an aspro Suzuki outboards don’t exist in most of world And their market share in Australia is dropping fast There ok but no reason not to buy yamaha Just buy yamaha and tow it with a Toyota Trouble free life
“Eight valves per cylinder, seriously guys, this is where the action is”? Might wanna get someone that actually knows what he is talking about? Especially when you’re saying Yamaha is better then Mercury
Yes there are fans of the old black anchors Mercury is famous for Poor quality Chinese made products There cheaply made and cheap to buy What does mercury make- they use to be biggest bowling equipment maker now they make gym equipment Compare yamaha to mercury is ridiculous yamaha Japanese quality make Lexus and Toyota engines formula one heads music equipment motorbikes helicopters electric push bikes and on and on Yamaha are simply the best

So you have a boat while others go without food…… have fun while you can…. Needs to be equality
I went to trade school, learned how to do my job well, and now I can afford a boat.
What you really mean is you expect others to share their stuff that they've worked hard for with you while you don't do anything for it. Sounds legit.
