The recent uproar about wrecking someone for a win may have played a part here. Busch called out Lagono last week for it. If he hadn't done that it might have been different. However, I do give Busch some credit for not wrecking Burton. Sure surprised me.

I once heard Ken Squire talk about the 100 race threshold for a driver. It's an interesting anomaly for drivers. Somewhat outdated now with the fast learning curve of younger drivers now. Thanks again.. 👍👍🏁
Yeah it's a weird anomaly for sure. Guys used to win a lot sooner back in the 90s and 2000s but now the learning curve is long, especially with the limited practice. Will be interesting to see what Ty Gibbs' number ends up being
The hell with the play off & how they have programmed us to think of wins. You have to crawl before you walk & Burton has been decent at plate tracks & finally got his first. Hopefully Zane smith, Justin Haley, Daniel Hemric & Ryan Preece all get wins this year & trash the play offs. It's not a championship when it comes down to one final race.
Harrison Ford Burton winning and having a 93 Daytona moment was cool. Racing for a championship in the phony playoffs while 34th dead last full time points not so much. Makkng the round of 8 with Atlanta and Talladega in the playoffs is definitely possible.
There should be cutoff line for playoff eligibility. 30 or 25 top is allowed

My theory on the flipping issue is that the completely flat bottom of the car creates a lot of lift when the car turns sideways

I feel like the only reason Cindric didn’t flip as well was because Josh Berry’s car blocked enough air to prevent Cindric from sailing like a kite as well. That is definitely a scary thought to have.
Imagine if McDowell won Talladega, Cindric wins Gateway, Zane Smith wins Nashville, Dillon keeps his win at Richmond, and Harrison Burton wins. The win and your win format would have the worst field of 16 in history. You already know who’s the first 4 out before the playoffs even begin. #2 that would give you 16 winners this season so let’s say if Kyle Busch wins at Darlington the “win in you’re in” format is exposed to no road of recovery since a win is supposed to lock you into the playoffs.
Dillon did keep his win. It just doesn’t count towards playoffs

This shows how broken the playoff system really is.
I get people saying Burton getting in the playoffs is a joke because he’s not good enough to realistically win the championship. While it’s true, do you really think drivers in 14th, 15th, and 16th have a realistic chance? I will say Burton made more of the opportunity he had to win a race than those other teams who’s spent more time at the front. Realistically it doesn’t matter. I think anyone out of the top 8 or top 10 doesn’t really have a chance to win the championship without freak circumstances like Burton just benefited from.
Logano. Blaney. Busch
Logan and Blaney are in the top 10 in playoff points position. I’m not talking about regular season points because it all resets when the playoffs start. If Busch won it would be to freak circumstances because they’ve been mediocre all year. Busch is a capable driver, but the team isn’t anywhere near a championship team

"Playoff Eligibility The top 15 drivers with the most wins over the first 26 races will earn a spot in the playoffs - provided they have finished in the top 30 in points and attempted to qualify for every race (except in rare instances). The 16th playoff position will go to the points leader after race No. 26, if he/she does not have a victory."
I absolutely hate the win and you’re in rule !
Harrison might have locked himself into the playoffs, but he more importantly locked himself into the conversations of whos taking the #7 and the 3rd FRM seat. If Haley doesnt leave RWR like rumors suggest, Id imagine Burton goes wherever Zane Smith doesnt. Could also see him in the #42, I dont think Nemecheks confirmed for next year
I hope another driver with no shot at the playoffs sneaks out a win at Darlington just to blow up the system 😂

The old busch would have spun burton but after the dillon ordeal thought better of it. Good for busch. Larson is getting rough, cause wreck of gregson body slamed cindric and almost caused at least 2 other wrecks. Success has gone to hidls head. Not a fan no more. Hes driving like wreckm byron and bowman. But they can do what they want because hendriks gets away with anything.

But Harrison win and you are in, shows a major flaw in this format.
You are knocking out way better driver and team, for someone who won by a fluke!
The playoffs should only include the top 16 drivers of the regular season or the top 16 drivers that have a win🏆and can maintain a top 20 in points! This is how you have the elite consistent teams going for a championship! Not a lucky one off.
The rules are set for 2024, but do something better for 2025 and beyond!
I just don’t think there is anything else you can do to keep cars on the ground. It happens every Friday night on dirt short tracks when the speeds are nowhere near nascar. It’s just physics

The rules are stupid and in place to satisfy people that arent the fans. I have no problem with the meltdown over the last place car in points winning his way in by getting pushed by a one off race running open car.
Because of what happened to Daniel Saurez that the cause for #11 ignited the fire at Daniel Saurez's pit stop could Nascar investigated and could Chris Gabhardt get fined again and points penalty for #11 team for interference causing Daniel Saurez to be out of the race due to the car fire even though it is not on Denny Hamlin, it is on his pit crew interfering Daniel Saurez's pit with the ignited the fire?

Wait. Corey did wreck Noah because Corey could have waved off Larson or braked. Only Corey had control of his car. Not Larson. For all we know Corey could have been waving for the push or waving it was to much. But its normal to brake. So thats all on Corey.

That's exactly why SVG got hired because of the way the point system and the playoffs are set up. There's enough road races where at least one win gets him in and they finish no less than 16th for the season. NASCAR sucks. I still watch every week and I don't know why it's a shit show. Should scrap the super speedway races. Just give the fans all little mini sledgehammers. Put the cars on the infield and let him beat the s*** out of them waste of time and money to go to them. Places. We drive half the race 3/4 of the race with our heads. Screwed on straight and then the last segment. Everybody loses their minds and thinks they can do whatever they want. Restrict the cars to 170 mph and they'll never aero flip. Or be big boy racecar drivers who go fast. It's impossible to 100% eliminate flips at these speeds in any racing series.
Bingo! That's what I've been trying to tell folks in my circle. A lot of them talk about Nascar needs to fix this or add that. The truth is as long as they are going fast, one will eventually find a way to get upside down. It's apart of racing.

Larson had a illegal engine i think because one time in tri oval he was gaster then outside when no one was pushing him
They should have tore him down like they did one time to rusty wallace at sonoma or watkins glen. But wallace was legal but laid out all engine parts on asphalt for all tesms to see his light weight parts which at time for all too see. But its hendriks so cheating is ok.
