    The idea that somewhere out there, a kid thinks you're the reason that their parents are dead, is enough reason to feel that guilt.
    He wouldn't have to have done the killing to feel that his part in it, was fuel for the fire.

    It is OK taking your time through this show because so many small details have been missed by others that are key to understanding the mystery of LOST.

      She really should have a moderator because from experience, commenters are absolutely terrible with shows like this. Perhaps even worse than direct plot spoilers, they casually push character spoilers all the time. They just can never seem to wait for the reactor's feelings about a character to evolve organically.

      Maybe her patreons will tip her off. I remember BSG, it was bad for a spell but I don’t think she saw. If she reads those first and waits to read youtube comments she might have protection.

    Such an amazing episode. It always surprises me, in general, how quickly people passed over this whole situation with Shannon. I mean, Sawyer was willing to let Shannon die, not a single bone of concern in his body for a girl who was suffering, he just wasted their time with his stupid games, which could have been spent looking for other solutions. And yes, I understand that he has a desire to suffer for everything that happened, but it has nothing to do with that point. Other people's actions are only a reflection of your own, you want to be treated like an animal, there is only so much endurance available until you are treated like an animal. It doesn't matter how morally good others are.

    • @zammmerjammer
      @zammmerjammer 26 днів тому +4

      They wasted their own time. There was zero evidence that Sawyer had their luggage and the medication. That was purely Boone making assumptions. And they never just ASKED Sawyer if he had the inhalers. Plus, even when he denied it, they didn't believe him.
      Sun was 100% the hero of this episode.

    When watching this for the first time, I was totally disgusted by Sawyer… but the letter scene at the end made me see him in a much different light. No character on LOST is just one dimensional! 🤩

    Something curious about “Sawyer”: not only he goes by a pseudonym, but he almost always addresses others by made-up nicknames. Almost never uses their real names.
    (the opposite of Mr Lock, who ALWAYS uses people’s real names)
    Interesting contrast.
    I wonder if the reason he avoids proper names is somehow deeper than I ever figured out…
    🤔🤷🏻‍♂️
    LOST is great in the way it goes deep into characters personalities and back stories.
    Another great analysis on your part.

    I can admit Sawyer past is sad but there was this quote I learned from a show. “ A tragic past doesn’t allow you to do anything you want “ and that’s how I feel about Sawyer most of the time. Currently, I understand him better but the things he does just make it harder for me to root for him. I just want him to actually try harder hours know but love your reaction!! Can’t wait for the next one

    There is no need to rush though this show as much as I selfishly wish you would. It is much better to let it stew a bit if you can. Let the characters marinate in your mind for a while. Ultimately it will be a better experience for you that way (imo).
    Savor it!

    Clinical studies confirmed the anti-inflammatory effects of Eucalyptus oil in patients with asthma, such as alleviating sinusitis symptoms and preventing the worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

    Sawyer hates himself. He makes himself the most loathsome character so that other people hate him as much as he hates himself. That is why he kicked Kate out of his tent. She was pitying him, and that hurts him more than all the torture did.

    Carmen, this episode takes place on days 9 - 10 after the crash of Oceanic Flight #815.
    Do you have shipping feels towards Skate ( Sawyer & Kate ) at all or at this point are you ride or die for Jate ( Jack & Kate ) ?
    Charlie & Claire's fan ship names are PB&J - Peanut Butter & Jelly | Pregnant Babe & Junkie or
    The Moth & the Butterfly.
    In the original script, Boone's and Shannon's roles in the episode would have originally gone to two new characters, Richard, a man in his 50s, and his pretty wife, Marybeth.

    • @Alewaxon
      @Alewaxon 14 днів тому

      @@zammmerjammer It didn't work out for anybody there, including (or specially) Sawyer... I don't get the point that you are trying to make; that he acted the proper way? that they had no reasons to dislike Sawyer and be sus of him?... I never said that what they did with the physical violence was morally correct or even that it was the best course of action, my point was entirely about the fact that Sawyer does NOT deserve the benefit of the doubt because of his own actions... he is an ass and borderline abusive towards everybody, that's why no one is going to believe him and why, in turn, they all believe the worse of him... Sawyer by not giving a straight and serious answer and by playing games, showed that he gave ZERO FUCKS about the life and well being of an innocent girl that was suffering... Now, is it likely that they would had believed Sawyer if he, in a very sober manner, told them he didn't have it? Maybe, that's up to debate, but the fact that he didn't and that he showed no empathy for this situation and ANY OTHER situation, that's what makes them view him the way they do... That's on Sawyer

    Its important to not judge these characters by modern standards. 10 plus years ago is a long time for society to grow morally. Sawyer extorting her for a kiss is very scummy but it wasnt seen quite as terrible as it is today. Its designed to make you not like him but not to the point where you lose all your empathy for him. You should have a much more visceral reaction towards Jack and Syid than him. Torture is way worse than extortion for a kiss.

      LOL at "modern standards"
      This show wasn't aired during the time of the Antebellum South, ffs.
      Sawyer is a con artist. He's conning Kate to get a kiss. BUT con artists are also very good at reading people -- he knows full well Kate is as attracted to him as he is to her.
      He's tied to a tree. She could tell him to go to hell. But she chooses to kiss him... and she chooses to kiss him multiple times.
