vinegar and salt, citric acid with salt both creates hydrochloric acid. you can speed up this process to minutes by slowly adding hydrogen peroxide (with a dropper for examble). in some countrys fuming hydrochloric acid is way cheaper than salt and vinegar/citric acid and you only have to add some vinegar or lime (not too much because you need a acid to stabilize the chemical reaction) to get rid of some unsolutable coppersalts (if the color is green or black) by turning them into Copper (II) acetate.

A relatively safe method for the teenagers out there. Do not forget though that this man has spent a long time studying chemistry which is apparent in watching his videos. Boards and such are not an easy find nowadays. Best method is hitting rummage sales and look for costume jewelry. Expect Gold to rise more as NYSE is ripe for a huge correction in 3 to 6 months with incoming US administration which is inept at best. Very nice demonstration by a pretty wise gentleman. Safety in a lab setting is always paramount, as I have witnessed two accidents in over 40 years working in a professional environment. Chemistry is wonderful, but there are hundreds of severe accidents yearly using OSHA data.
    Blessings to All.

Every day, every night, the Internet/UA-cam tells me a bunch of stuff I didn't know, and had NO IDEA OF!! 🙂👍👍
Great video, I'd watched gold recovery/refining videos before, but none like this!! 🙂👍
Will the salt/vinegar/oxygen method also work, over time, with scrap gold-filled/gold-plated jewellery??
So SIM cards contain significant gold?? I didn't know that.. (There was certainly plenty of gold flakes in that jar! 🙂)
What is a "finger"?? A circuit board??
And what is the best place to search for amounts of the right gold-bearing computer/digital scrap?? 🙂
And as some other people have said, *can we see the whole process please* , and preferably you melting the result into a tiny bar?? 🙂👍
I'd especially like to see the avid and bleach method!! Hope you've got a way of not gassing yourself with the chlorine bleach!! (Unless you use peroxide? I don't know!!!!)

@@oneoflokis Gold plate: It would at least extract some copper from the plate, but if it was not able to get under the plated bit, it couldn't have it flake off.
Sim & memory cards: Both contain gold in tiny amounts. Memory cards would need to be basically powdered to collect all the gold. You would need thousands to get a a nice little bead of gold.
Fingers: The part of a add in card that has the contacts to electrically connect. They are the connection pads, that in turn get clamped by the socket they are inserted to. Many gold recoverers will simply slice this section off and not worry about the rest of the card.
Where: Older computer cards have more gold then current ones generally. Basically, you want the materials for free, so you must recover computers from businesses, homes, garbage skips, dumps.

Thanks. But you should show us how You strain and filter the foil out from the solution. And give us an idea of how much gold you recovered in this process.
    All the best.

You can strain the gold through ordinary paper coffee filters and then refine them with hydrochloric acid and bleach of course. All this has already been shown many times on my channel buddy.

I haven't gotten rich from this either, buddy, but it helps me a lot to maintain a household budget. Maybe the vinegar has worn out or is too weak, put it in the sun, maybe it will speed things up for you.
