  • Hello viewers,
In this video, we are showing you how you can easily recover gold from electric circuit boards using household chemicals. Everyone knows that gold recovery is impossible without acids. And that's true. But what we can do is to reduce the use of acids up to 95% using this vinegar method.
Vinegar is easy to get and it reduces the risks.
So enjoy the video and don't forget to subscribe to our channel.

This video is an example of why the dislikes need to be visible. What's claimed to be made here is peracetic acid (this requires distilled white wine vinger and 5% hydrogen peroxide) which can dissolve copper (freeing gold). However it turns blue; not green. The green colour indicates the use of nitric acid (turns green when dissolving copper). Using peracetic acid on 500grams of mixed scrap would not only take a lot longer, but also work out a lot more expensive than simply using nitric acid. You would need bottles of hydrogen peroxide, also controlled item in most countries (it's not the same hydrogen peroxide you use for your hair, it's sold as teeth whitener or wound cleaner and is often restricted to one bottle per customer).
Peracetic acid is okay for smaller items (such as scrap sim cards/smart chips) but you will be wasting time and money trying to recover gold phone boards and mousepads as shown in the video.

Yep, been saying this since they started with this type of censorship. In Nazitubes quest to control the free flow of information they have now forced all off us to watch way more crap content when dealing with technical topics. All of us using this platform to learn technically complex things truly got the most screwed by their desperate censorship.

What the vinegar does in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and air (oxygen) is to oxidize and dissolve the more reactive metals, mostly copper, which has been plated with gold. The gold becomes minute flakes. It is important to keep chloride out of the vinegar and water or the gold will dissolve. Once the gold flaks are obtained methods other.than what the creator shows can be used to recover the gold.
It would be interesting to see what these other metals are. The solution is green not blue so something other than copper is there. It should have been tested for gold. Don't throw it away until you are sure. It may for instance contain nickel and or cobalt.

Oh that's cool ! If I can get the chemical's I'll give it a shot ! I would just keep going with the 1st step adding fresh vinegar & more boards over and over a couple of months plus loads of boards and cheap vinegar then I would do the final chemical process, that would make it cost efficient. Very cool ! Inspired.

I think the vinegar solution can be rejuvenated with a bit more hydrogen peroxide if this process is similar to the AP method.
But totally agree. You’d need hundreds of pounds of free boards to make the time investment worth it. That, and amount of AR used in this video could have processed like 5-10 times as much gold flakes as was done here.
When I refine gold, I never mix AR before hand. I always cover the gold with HCl, then add nitric a couple mL at a time since nitric is much more expensive. Which also reduces the amount of SMB needed because it’s not being consumed by free nitric in solution.
There are ways of making this process more cost effective.

I watch a professional gold recovery expert , he runs his circuit boards through his rock crusher , recovers the metal and smelts is a few times , that’s it, Crush it , recover and smelt . Mining/refining is all about economies of scale. Since most of the reaction is idle time, it makes sense to process about a 55 gallon barrel at a time. Back of the napkin math says that would be around 200lbs of boards with an expected recovery of around 3 ozt (your results may vary).

Thanks for the video. Never seen it done like this before. For all those saying more is needed? Nothing on earth only requires one thing to be done to it to retrieve something from it. The process to recycle something is never straight forward. I myself recycle copper and a few other things which I then invest that money into things that make more money :)
If I knew someone who did this I would give them all the boards I come across as taking them to a scrap yard is not enjoyable so they end up in the bin, as I do not have the time nor the resources available to extract the gold using the method in the video.

Well done, perhaps a little bit faster way is to take the gold into solution using a 50/50 mix of clorox and vinegar, until the gold disappears. 150 degrees F is faster perhaps an hour or so, filter and drop the gold with zinc, add zinc until the liquid turns mouse gray and let it sit. Zinc burns off at low temperature leaving your gold behind. The only problem is the process likes the platinum group metals as well but does not like silver.
Love to see a video and compare the two processes to see how they compare.

What this video shows is that many people don't understand nor fully think through a money-making scheme or endeavor to see if it makes sense before moving forward. Most people only imagine about how much money they think they will make until the reality of the effort, time, and sometimes money needed hits them upside the head, then they stop. If you don't value your time you will waste it.

Give the equipment, supplies, chemicals, and labor involved, I'd say this recovery process can EASILY make someone about 50 cents per hour if they are efficient. But making a 12 minute video that is viewed on You Tube by more than 1 million viewers, well now the monetizing of a video about recovering the gold can generate a much better return! The lesson from this video is making the video for You Tube will make you money! Recovering a tiny amount of gold from scrap circuit boards is a waste of time.

So he got $25.623 (U.S Dollars, calculating at current value of 22k gold for $1,890 per troy ounce). So the biggest take away from this video, is the process itself, not the amount of cash he was able to produce in this example, as we would need a considerable larger amount of recyclable materials, to extract enough gold & make it worth our while.. Thank you for the video, definitely learned something new today! 😊👍

Spent a month to retrieve $30 in gold! No way. Probably spent that in chemicals.

If he's in India that's probably a month's wages. Not trying to be funny but some of those people get by and pennies a day. That said, this is not a safe or inexpensive operation and is a waste of time.

Did you feel it was worth the effort and cost for a $27 return (29/4/22)? You'd still need to dispose of the spent chemistry and board waste afterwards.

It’s true it does take a long time but it is worth it in the long run. I guess you just have to save it up and it’s not the only thing you get is gold as other precious metals also

But what is HNO3+3 HCI, SnCl2 & sodium metabisulfite?
& where do I find it?
& Am I even allowed to buy this stuff?

    • @TrinityGoldRecovery

HNO3, HCL, H2SO4 are different types of acids. This acid will be needed to recover the gold. Sodium metabisulphite is a salt that separates gold from aqua regia. You can get these at your nearest chemical store. But before using them you need to know the basics of chemistry. Collect the book written by "CM Hooke" to recover gold and other precious metals. Which will help you recover gold.
