@@jillpemberton1434Hi Jill you and your husband did a great video and I'm very excited to be here and learn from you guys. I'm single so it's abit scary to move somewhere when you don't know anyone but I'm in my early sixties and have to work 3 jobs just to survive I would love nothing g more then to wake up every morning and walk a beautiful beach. I've heard there big communities of Canadians in Mexico and costa Rico but no idea how to locate them. I'm so happy you came up in my feed today....☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Very happy for you ! My husband and I left Canada 2 years ago and we are living in Portugal and Spain. I came to Canada for 2 weeks to visit our daughter and can’t wait to get back to our home in Portugal where life is so peaceful and weather nice and sunny!
Well we might end up being your neighbours! We head to Europe starting the end of July. We are going to look at residency in Portugal or Spain. I felt the same way when I was visiting Victoria BC just two weeks ago. I could never go back to live there. Thanks for subscribing and for the message. So much more to come! Cheers, Jill
The benefits to the older generation are unbelievable, I am very jealous. Possibly the only generation (or two) that have such large asset wealth that allows them to do this.
Awww Thank you for the sweet and kind words. We are just having the best of times. 😍 Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. We really appreciate you taking the time to write. Stay tuned! Cheers, Jill
Great video, i'm a Canadian/ Eu Citizen, living in Poland... Although i love the country of Canada....The new Canadian dream is definitely getting out of Canada
Hey there, Yes, I think this video has struck a nerve with Canadians. I think it's been in the back of the minds of many. I went back recently for two weeks and I could not wait to leave again. Thanks for subscribing and taking the time to shoot a note. We head to Europe in July. Cheers, Jill
It was over in the 80’s when my dad being a skilled electrician in Poland with his own business was told in Canada he couldn’t find a job due to LANGUAGE BARRIERS. Because of the constant stress and lack he developed cancer and died. My mom came after. I will not go down with a sinking ship and have it happen to me. Leaving is my only option.
I have gone the opposite way. After years of traveling, I now cannot face doing it again. I love my relaxing lifestyle at home. Each to their own 😊. By the way, I do agree that Canada is not what it was when we arrived 39 years ago.
Thanks for watching our videos. We can totally relate. Traveling can get exhausting. That is why we are now slow traveling. We have discussed this in past videos. Eventually we will buy another home and settle down. But for the time being we are loving our lifestyle. And when we do settle down, who knows where it may be. If Canada keeps going in the same direction it will definitely not be there.
I totally get it... I love your videos and live out your adventures vicariously. I think we are all keeping an eye to see if our beloved country continues to slide. Thanks again!
This made me smile...I'm Canadian, I left Canada in 2004, and I can't imagine ever going back for a life, visiting sure, but for living I can't do it. Life means so much more now, life in Canada was so monotonous, boring, stagnant, now wow, who knows where the wind takes me next, and I love that feeling. Great to see I'm not the only Canadian out there doing this
Hi there! Could not agree with you more. Life seems so much more interesting again. I have never felt more free and more in control. I just posted today in the community’s chat ; I would love to do a film on stories - like yours. When you left, where you went, how you did it and how you feel today. I will be including others who have just left, ones who are in the process and ones of people who are just contemplating leaving. I need about a minute video or if you are not comfortable in front of the camera a written story works too. I feel like there are so many people that could use and need to hear about the other people’s experiences. If you could share that would be fantastic! 4 years Europe, 3 years Egypt, 3 years Kenya, 4 years Philippines and 1 year Guatemala for us. I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’re right, it’s not for everybody but it’s the life for me! Great video
@jennythan4215 Owning a business does not mean that you will be rich. I own a successful business and finally had a really good couple of years (2022-2023). It took many years of hard work. This year business is way down but CRA wants us to make tax installments (HST and corporate prepayments) based on last years revenue, while the Government hands out money like candy. I will not invest another penny into Canada until the regime changes. I would rather be an idle fool than a busy fool.
This is exactly what we did, sold everything packed up 3 suitcases each and moved to Mexico to explore the country. Cheers from 2 Canadians living in Mexico. ✌🏽😁
And cheers right back to you😎 Thanks for watching our video, and taking the time to respond. What are some of your favorite spots in Mexico? We are in Cabo San Lucas right now. It is a lot more expensive than it used to be. But if you know where to go can still be quite affordable
@@jillpemberton1434 Anywhere that the gringos aren't hahaha Though they are pretty much everywhere now. Right now we are in Xalapa Veracruz and love it. Spent just over 2 years in the Yucatan loved it though way to hot and so Americanized. Next stop will be the Oaxaca coast somewhere. Loved San Cristobal Chiapas, loved El Cuyo Yucatan and Bacalar. Loved loved Mexico city and Puebla. The Caribbean coastline has our heart as we have been holidaying in that area for 12 years prior to moving to Mexico. Enjoy the journey guys we wish you all the success in the world good health and spirits. ✌🏽 PS: If you want to live cheaper get away from the beaches and the gringo areas.

My wife and I are from Canada and we have slowly transitioned to a beautiful here life in Panama. As you mentioned, it was a daunting task to sell our home and get rid of everything (including 5 cars!), but we did it one step at a time. We now believe it was definitely the right thing to do for us. We haven't bought a home, but prefer to rent (a beautiful beach-side condo!) as it gives us the freedom to go anywhere at anytime. We have attained our permanent residency in Panama and still travel back to Canada to spend time there as well. Thanks for the video. Hopefully it will help others see that transitioning to a better life is noy that hard.
Hi there, Thanks so much for watching and for reaching out. Yes we have heard a lot about Panama and that there are many Canadians in Panama. The residency is interesting because of the no inheritance tax too. We head to Europe in July but Panama is definitely a place that we want to check out. Saw writing on the wall, sold everything, packed my family and left Canada 6 years ago. Couldn't be happier. Will be renouncing Canadian citizenship soon.
Yup, Could not agree more! The more we travel, the more backwards and behind Canada feels.I went back recently and it was depressing It's better to have left a day or two too early than a day too late. I think Canada will start clamping down soon on people wanting to leave. The housing will take a big fall and people will be even more angry, We have taken control of our lives and our future and we don't rely on any government. We now have real healthcare, lower taxes and a much better quality of life. Cheers to you! Thanks for watching and subscribing.
@@jillpemberton1434 Absolutely! Unfortunately this situation has to get way worse before it can starts getting better. It could take generations. Liked and subscribed. My wife and I are of the same mindset. In the last while, ESPECIALLY the last 8 years Canada has become 'something else'. Not the once great, safe, friendly, clean, prosperous and welcoming country I was born in. We have debated on leaving this once great nation as well. I will follow your exceptionally apt timed video for our situation for tips and pointers. Thank you and CONGRATS on finding your 'happy place'!
Hey there, Thanks for such a lovely note. Could not agree more with direction Canada is going. I don't feel safe, the healthcare is a disaster, tax, tax, tax and less, less and less in return. I was just there in Victoria and could not wait to leave again. This was the best move we ave ever made and we have never felt more free. There is a big world out there to discover. Hi there, Thanks so much for watching our video and for taking the time to connect with us. There are thousands quietly leaving Canada because of how bad things are getting. My sons still live in Canada and my advice to anyone - if you are still working, try to get some training so you can work remotely. We met so many people doing this, in so many areas of the world. People are paid in US or Euro and the cost of living is a fraction of what it is in Canada. Even if you are retired - it cost us less to travel the world verses being stuck in a cold house in Canada. Your dollars go so much further. We have no more property taxes, house insurance, car insurance, our cell phones are like 10 or we just use wifi/month , and on and on.... we are saving money. I’m so glad I found your channel. I have 1.5 years to go until I retire. Looking to make a massive shift in the way I’m currently living cutting the cord…You’re an inspiration.
Me too! Retiring in September 2025 - God willing! - can’t wait and then Bali, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Georgia and then Poland where I am originally from. After that year, we will decide where to make it more permanent
A year ago I sold my condo apartment and my car and left for Miami to look for a sailboat. I bought a 50 foot sailboat all equipped. I am a retired 65 years young. No more maintenance fees and municipal taxes which combined 1200 CAD. No more car insurance and high gas prices. Now I sail all Caribbean islands. My most food about 70 % comes from the ocean. I collect coconuts on isolated islands of San Blas Panama or on islands of Honduras and Nicaragua. Fruit and vegetable and canned food I buy on mainland or Caribbean islands. My pension is quite enough to survive. No more BS.
And good luck to you as well. Thanks so much for watching our video and taking the time to respond. Hope you find the time to check out our other goodbye Canada videos.
Living life is all about having meaning and purpose. Being in my kids and grandkids daily lives is much more valuable to us than traveling the world. I have worked outside of Canada for two long stints. You do pay a big price when you leave Canada, you lose your second circle of friends. You become distant from your first group of friends. You lose Sunday dinners and you miss life events for friends and family. When you return you are an outsider. So, there is a price to pay when you emigrate. It is not all peaches and cream.
Hi there, All things in life are not peaches and cream. I think everyone is different based on their family situation and lifestyle. Everyone adapts differently. For me, my parents were immigrants to Canada from the UK, I grew up with no family around me. I later replanted myself to the west coat, leaving school friends behind. Today through social media we have all reconnected, which is nice. As for the kids, we were living blocks away from them and they were all busy, busy in their careers. Sunday dinners were too longing. Today, the boys hop on planes and are thrilled to have an opportunity to travel, for free.None of them could afford to travel otherwise. We have the best quality times together and everyone is genuinely happy to be together. My best friend in the world lives in Victoria, our friendship never wavers and is never judged. .We cheer each other on. For her, she has lived in Oak Bay all of her life and will never leave there. Everyone is different. Thanks for watching! So much more to come :) Cheers, Jill
If you had all that, why leave at all. In our family, the parents had all died and our siblings were scattered across the U.S. Sunday was just the one day we vegged around to rest from our long work week. We were leaving the U.S. to vastly improve our quality of life. It worked. We are the happiest we’ve ever been!
Let me get this straight. Your friends don't stay friendly with you because you left their immediate vicinity for a year or three. That is not a definition of a friend. Funny, I just went out for dinner with a friend from five to ten years ago and it was kind of almost like nothing had changed between us, apart from the missed time, literally.
@@MrGamman3yt What happens is your interests change. Another thing that happens is you may visit once or twice a year, see them for a day. The next time you see them, you view it as last weekend, but they have changed a lot in that time period. Regarding good friends, you never lose them, regarding people outside of that group, distance starts to build. When I went oversees, a friend told me about this. He was 100% correct.
Hi there. We are really glad you enjoyed the video. We will be releasing two or three more in the very near future. I hope you can check them out. And thanks so much for watching our videos and taking the time to respond.
Congratulations on being rich. Pocketing $4-$5 million from a house sale makes permanently travelling abroad a lot easier. Large amounts of investment interest income buys a lot of healthcare, scuba gear, great meals, rentals etc. Trying doing this when you don’t have the capital. Being 60 and living on a limited budget and backpacking is really tiring.
Yes I totally agree. Traveling abroad is virtually impossible unless you have money. In the video we just released, we state that. If you don’t have the savings, you’re gonna have to work offshore. It is almost impossible to save money in Canada these days. People are struggling just to make ends meet let alone save. And all we’re saying is there are options out there. Thanks for watching our videos and taking the time to respond. We hope you find the time to watch our last video.

I am too low income to do the world traveling lifestyle, but I have been doing my own affordable version. I sold the house etc and just travel where I can drive to. That way, I can bring the dog with me. I agree Canada is not what it once was, but it's where I am. I have 2 sons, 1 in Ontario and 1 in Alberta, so I do lots of Cross Canada travel. I get to see my grandkids for months at a time! I travel the US, returning to Canada in time to keep my health care. I have been in good health, so that hasn't really mattered yet. Haven't made it to Mexico yet, but it's in the plans. It is a wonderful way to spend my retirement.
Hi, thanks for watching our video. We are really glad to hear you’re having a great retirement. If you do get the chance to go to Mexico, try the drive down the Baja. We have done it several times. We loved it.
I bet if you add up your travel costs, including owning a car, you'd find you spend more than what it costs to travel and live in much of the rest of the planet.
Thank you for your video, I think a lot of Canadians feel the frustration for sure what you’re describing. I have travelled to dozens of countries around the world, yes, it has its issues, but it’s still home to me. Ontario in the summer is so beautiful up north, and the cottages and the lakes, the taxation is absolute ridiculous here, our government is absolute disgusting. Everyone can agree on that , definitely frustrating for sure. Heading out to Portugal and Belgium. In a few weeks, Luxenberg, Germany and then it’s always nice to head home.
Hey there, Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to write to us. Yeah beyond frustration! I was born in New Brunswick, lived in Quebec and then a large dairy farm in Ontario. Later moved to the west coast. Life “was” good. Can’t stand all the waste of taxes, the crime and poor healthcare. We come to back to visit Canada but I think it’s going to take years to fix what has been done. More and more taxes are coming. We actually really don’t live anywhere. I guess somewhere in the world! We head to Europe in July- late October and then Australia for a little while. Maybe our paths will cross Cheers, Jill and Randy Here is the rest of the Goodbye Canada series. ua-cam.com/video/FIrkrLTla5k/v-deo.htmlsi=uJZvUUJ7APZfPNea ua-cam.com/video/e1SdC2CjVog/v-deo.htmlsi=toz26xndyFRTVoLp
@@jillpemberton1434 I lived in Halifax for University, love, flying out there once a year, moms from Shediac, New Brunswick, I love the Maritimes for sure. I was in Australia for a month in February. Really enjoyed it, Brisbane and Sydney was great. Gold coast was great and so is the sunshine coast. I hope you enjoy it. Yes, the government does frustrate most Canadians, and the taxes are unbelievable, always in your pocket always trying to stick it to you everywhere they can. I don’t care with the banks, the insurance companies, you name it. Groceries are getting smaller, but yet same price always something. Thank you I have subscribed.

I'm in the process of selling everything I own I am a Newfoundlander by birth and after working in the mines of Northern Ontario I retired back in Newfoundland. I have world wide insurance and pension from Glencore. Before I came back home I spent two years living in Victoria on a 27ft C&C sailboat and taught myself how to sail never was so at peace when I lost sight of land yes I was on fishing boats but sailing isn't the same..I thought staying in the home of my birth would bring some contentment but like John Steinbeck said - 'You can't go home again because home has ceased to exist except in the mothballs of memory.'Hate everything I own like a heavy chain around my neck. I figured if I sell my house and everything in it to young family for a fair price and give them a start it makes sense. The house is worth a crazy price since I bought it twenty years ago. The fair price will get me a nice smaller sailboat I can handle myself until I get better at blue water sailing. Can stick to the B. C coast until I learn more maybe I will just buy a 32ft blue water boat first thing. Can live in temporary accommodations until I find what I need. Then check out Mexico and decide from there maybe stay in Canada in the summer and sail down to Mexico for 5 months.. Trust me I know how you feel but maybe people will think me crazy but how does a seagull explain that they have to head offshore now and then.. without you thinking them mad..
Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I was also a Maritimer, born in New Brunswick! My parents were immigrants from the UK. Randy and I, have worked hard all of our lives. We are not trust fund babies, nor did we inherit a penny from our parents. Love the quote from John Steinbeck! I don't think you are crazy. I think you have courage and the bravery to go live your best life. The Negative Nellies, they wish on their death bed wishing they had done more. We are living our best life. We keep on discovering more as we travel. We recently joined Trusted Pet Sitters and now will be traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and staying in homes for FREE in exchange for looking after the owners pets. It's a great and cost effective way to travel. Stay tuned can't wait to share these stories.

Saw your home in beautiful Victoria which you probably sold for more than a million dollars. You are rich so it is easy for you to adopt the nomad lifestyle. You guys probably worked hard to get where you are and it is great that’you are enjoying your new lifestyle, its just you cannot say to fellow Canadians that it is a lifestyle that is within the reach of most people.
Hi thanks for watching our videos and taking the time to respond. As we mentioned in the video this life is not for everyone. And yes we did work hard and achieved a certain amount of success. But a big part of the reason we got where we are, is that we have always been frugal. We try not to spend more than we have to. And that is why we’re living offshore. Canada has become ridiculous. And during our travels we have met many people, young and old. All different income levels. And the one common trait they all possessed was they were happy. We are going to go a little more into detail on our next video around finances. Hope you can join us.
It doesn't cost as much as you think. Look into what your current lifestyle REALLY costs, and I bet travelling full-time would cost less. There are many more and better options out there than you might think.
Precisely. Like so much of social media, videos like these don't reflect the reality on the ground for the vast majority of today's younger middle class, who have near zero hope of owning a home in North America, or of accumulating wealth anymore. Blame corporate greed; wealth hoarding; and failed public policies written by the "donor" class. In fact, the past 45 years have seen the greatest wealth transfer in history from middle income earners to the top 2%. And our society is collapsing because of it.
Happy for you both this it isn’t for me but to each their own. I feel like I need a stable place to call home. You are right though Canada is not what it use to be but for me it’s my home best of luck to you both!!
As we said, this life is not for everyone. I have friends who have never lived outside of their municipality for their entire life. We just wanted to share our story and show what is possible. So many Canadians are asset rich and cash poor. This is just a different way somebody can have the best of both worlds and feel free. Thanks so much for watching. We really appreciate you taking the time to write. Stay tuned! Here is our follow up video ua-cam.com/video/FIrkrLTla5k/v-deo.htmlsi=LqBCbiZ_a2RYDcbx
This is exactly how I feel versus Canada now as I live there and looking with extremely high interest to move into Mexico.... at first. 1st trip to check out from this coming fall. Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
Well make sure you stay tuned because we will have a video talking about the details with our agent that helped us. The entire process is easy and will cost less than 1k. Hey there, Thanks for watching and subscribing. We have some great videos coming up on the process and how we actually do it. We also live off our dividends, we take a modest 4 % and could easily take more but we actually don’t need it. Our accounts are growing with our portfolio manager. This has been the best move we have ever made. Lower your taxes, better health care and you are completely free. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you ever have questions. The process is easier than you think. It cost about 1k dollars for the two of us… so easy. Cheers, Jill Go Leafs!
@@jillpemberton1434 $1000k?? wow, that's way less than I thought. Im born and raised in Victoria, too. Man, is it depressing here these days. I really want to leave but don't know where to. Have young kids so can't quite do the nomad thing but I really want to take advantage of our home equity and get out sooner than later. I don't see much good happening here in the next 10-15 years.
Hi again. Just to be clear the thousand dollars I was referring to was the cost of achieving our Mexican permanent resident status. You can do it cheaper than that, but we had a business agent assist us in dealing with immigration. That process can get quite confusing especially if you are not fluent in Spanish. We will be featuring her in our next video. So stay tuned.

Hey there! For me, I came from a dairy farm in eastern Ontario. I moved to Vancouver when I was 22. I did't realize that I still smelled like the cows! I worked in the fashion business. I started my own company and sold it, then worked for a luxury fashion brand, Randy, was a captain for the Vancouver Fire Department. We have both worked hard in our careers and both of us had dabbled in real estate as almost a side hustle. I would buy the ugliest place and renovate and then sell. We met 5 years ago and our lives have been changed for ever. We have spent 365 days together and I think we just love each other more. Life is an adventure! You nailed it when you said Canada isn't what it once was, i'll add and not for the better. I love Canada but I will never be able to retire here (My fault) that is why Thailand is my second home, mostly in the winter months. I can live in Thailand for 6 months on what I can in Canada for 2.5 months. Sadly flights were much cheaper before 2020 but I still go every year. Thailand is a 3rd world country for those that don't know but the health care system kicks Canada's behind like nobody's business. My wife is currently there with her knee surgery scheduled for June 19. In Canada they told her to take meds. Travel safe and Be well.

You're doing what most of us dream of but can't do. This is called enjoying life. I landed in Toronto 25y ago, unfortunately, the gov have driven this country into a dark hole, with over 100k a year you can't afford a trip once a year, everything is skyrocketing. If it wasn't for my kids I would've been gone long ago.
It's absolutely appalling with what's happening in Canada. Our kids will never be able to afford a home I have encouraged them to brush up their skills to suit a remote life. While traveling there are so many expats and there are some amazing schools in countries like Malaysia and Thailand for foreigners.Don't give up, there are always options! Hey there, We will be going into healthcare in a video very soon with a in depth look. This is NOT travel insurance. This is healthcare insurance world wide. It excludes the US but you are still allowed 21 days of travel. You can include the US but then you will be paying a lot more! In the meantime, The cost varies by each individual. Your age, any preexisting conditions, where you need it for, how much you insure yourself for and your deductible. You should also include medivac. This has given us the freedom we have always yearned for. We use Cigna. The cost is around 10k per year. It includes a wellness test, every year and this is free. We did ours in KL., Malaysia, also so, so much more. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. We really appreciate you taking the time to write. Stay tuned! Cheers, Jill

I’m really excited to follow this! I’m a 33 year old single woman with no children or hubs from NB. I’ve been talking about this for the past two years. Canada is not like it was when I was a little girl. Please, share share share how to achieve this ❤ Thank you!
Thanks so much for your message! I think if I was.young like you, I would be spinning my brain on how I could work remotely. I would be brushing up my skills focused on this. We met so many young people living in Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and in fact all over the world and they get paid in Euro and US dollars - smart! Canada use to be the land of opportunity - that no longer is present. Think big! Dare yourself and believe in yourself. I grew up on a dairy farm and moved to Vancouver. I had nothing and no support on any level. I had no job experience, no home, no family or friends. I didn't even realize my clothes still smelled like the cows. Dig deep, believe in yourself and you can do anything! My two sons 27 and 31 ..like so many Canadians can't seem to get ahead even though they have good paying jobs. Stay tuned! Cheers, Jill

Boy is this video speaking to me. I lived in Victoria too for a couple of years and now still live across the water in White Rock. During the pandemic I left to Mexico and maxed out my 6 month visa and travelled a couple of more countries and loved it. Since getting back it hasn't been the same and yes Canada is going downhill in so many ways. I'm very much thinking about doing the same. Keep posting more good stuff.
My husband and I also got permanent residency in Mexico and said goodbye to the sinking ship of Canada! So many Canadians down here just like you guys and us. The healthcare is phenomenal and also, if you get your money out before the debt bomb goes off, you can make a minimum of 11% in a GIC in banks in Mexico. Yep! Better do it soon though because the government is panicking and trying to find ways to stop that.
Yes I heard that. Apparently Justin’s talking about a $25,000 departure tax. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new life. Where in Mexico are you guys? Thanks so much for watching our videos and taking the time to respond.
We have been full time travellers for almost four years now! We love the life and will continue to travel as long as it's fun. I'm also a retired Canadian slow traveler. I've been traveling the world solo now for 8 months and I'm also now in Athens. Happy Easter! Maybe we'll bump into each other on one of the crowded alleys. Cheers!
The grass always seems better… lol. Expensive in Canada? Of course. That is what has provided the standard of living that we in the west have so come to enjoy. Our culture, geography our vast natural resources have provided us with this unique lifestyle that has now allowed you considerable financial advantage over the rest of the world. Appreciate. Be thankful for your good fortune. Enjoy. PS. Where do we sign up? Great video and story.
Hey there, Thanks for watching our video and for taking the time to connect with us. Yes,, we have for sure benefited from growing up and living in Canada. My parents arrived in Canada in 1957 because it was the land of opportunity. We appreciate everything it has given us. Today, we feel like Canada is going to go through some really rough times. The prices of homes and salary growth no longer align. Canada is debt. Taxes, healthcare are only going to get worse. Today, we now want to protect our assets from the heavy taxation and have better healthcare. Our healthcare today is amazing. We are also loving our freedom. Living anywhere and every where has certainly opened our eyes to what life can be like through out the world. We are heading to Canada today for two weeks. Then our travels head to Europe and Australia- slow traveling. Most of our stays are free! Stay tuned! Great video, i'm a Canadian/ Eu Citizen, living in Poland... Although i love the country of Canada....The new Canadian dream is definitely getting out of Canada
Hey there,
Yes, I think this video has struck a nerve with Canadians. I think it's been in the back of the minds of many. I went back recently for two weeks and I could not wait to leave again.
Thanks for subscribing and taking the time to shoot a note. We head to Europe in July.

Why did you choose Poland among European countries?
@@vlal86 My guess is because Poland and Hungary aswell has not allowed an influx of migrants into their nations.
the problem with the Canadian dream is that you have to be asleep to believe it
It was over in the 80’s when my dad being a skilled electrician in Poland with his own business was told in Canada he couldn’t find a job due to LANGUAGE BARRIERS.

Wow - what an encouraging and inspirational video! I have often silently dreamed of doing what you are doing-especially in a broken Canada right now. Thanks for sharing your eye-opening perspective!
Hi there,
Thanks so much for watching our video and for taking the time to connect with us.
Here is the rest of the Goodbye Canada series - I think you will like it.

Great Video Jill and Randy. Thank you for sharing with your fellow Canadians!

No more BS.
@@alexjames6747 do make some videos out of that and keep us updated as to how it is going!
I am a medically trained Canadian doctor. Left as soon as i graduated and life has been a heaven so far. Good luck to you all

Living life is all about having meaning and purpose. Being in my kids and grandkids daily lives is much more valuable to us than traveling the world. Traveling is great but we find it gets old when there are so many important moments to be together as a large family in Canada. Each situation is different and if there are no major ties or reasons to stay, maybe it is worthwhile to consider.
Hi there. Thanks so much for watching our video and taking the time to respond. As we mentioned earlier this lifestyle is not for everyone. It sounds like you have a wonderful life with your large family. I always say if you are happy, You’re doing the right thing. That really is the key isn’t it? Happiness.

Edmontonian here and I just discovered you and I'm so happy I did! OMG, what an inspiration you guys are!!
I started my own process about a year ago but I've kind of hit a road block in the form of an ailing parent so I'll have to keep things tame until that gets sorted out but my aim is to do the exact same thing you guys are doing and as soon as I can manage.
I've been following a few other slow travelers as well who are so inspiring - Dan and Qiang (Vagabond Awake), Amelia and JP, Drew Binsky, Andrew Henderson (Nomad Capitalist) and Alina Macleod (another Canadian).
I'm so happy for you both and I'll be a subscriber for sure because I want to learn as much as I can. Maybe we'll even get to meet up some day somewhere along the trail. All the best to you both!!

Hi there,
All things in life are not peaches and cream.
So much more to come :)
Cheers,
Jill
It’s the same as when I immigrated to Canada with a tender age of 20….its all good , one makes new friends.
You guys are TRUE INSPIRATION! Thank you for putting out this VALUABLE video!
This coment is the reason why we are leaving your woke entitled attitude poor you for not making the right fiscal choices and shame on the disciplined right moves the people the are fiscaly responsible made for 40 years keep on doing what your doing
@@BM-zj3hy Really? Anyone who is over 60 only had to buy a house and wait 35-40 years to sell. You're no financial genius...you got lucky on an unprecedented growth from real estate.
@@TR-yo5nx financial genius has nothing to do with it I could not agree with you more 35 to 40 years of making the right choices and it pays off in the long term those who have made the right decision in life should not have to justify there life to the have nothing's best of luck in life I'm going to the Beach then lunch then a nap.
Many people don't have the option to jetset and play the world arbitrage game. You need to be well off like the folks in this video.
Good for you both! I told my husband that after the next election, if liberals are still there, we will be moving out of this country.
Hey there,
Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to write to us.
Maybe our paths will cross
Cheers,
Jill and Randy

@@jillpemberton1434 I think I have already watched all of your videos Dear !! Oilers crush the Canucks tonight !!! LOL
@@jillpemberton1434 Looking forward to your next videos.
@@jillpemberton1434so may I ask if you’re living off investments? Do you work or have that freedom not to?

What is so great about Mexico - is that you don't actually have to live here but now we have complete freedom. If you need any information - feel free to contact us anytime.

It’s what I have been planning for the last 20 years. I will leave next October traveling for life living from dividends
Hey there,
Thanks for watching and subscribing.

No more BS.

I commend you on living your dream. All this still requires finances being in order. I suspect you both had successful careers to amass the wealth to do this. Great video!
Hey there!
For me, I came from a dairy farm in eastern Ontario. I moved to Vancouver when I was 22. I did't realize that I still smelled like the cows! I worked in the fashion business. I started my own company and sold it, then worked for a luxury fashion brand,
Randy, was a captain for the Vancouver Fire Department.
We have both worked hard in our careers and both of us had dabbled in real estate as almost a side hustle. I would buy the ugliest place and renovate and then sell.

😅Trudeau especially has destroyed Canada. Australia has the same story. Governments aligned with the WEF and UN and all the other lettered organizations quickly changing our once peaceful and prosperous countries into something unrecognizable.

Please talk more about the health insurance! Was that a private insurance in Mexico only? Or a travelers insurance?
Hey there,
We will be going into healthcare in a video very soon with a in depth look. This is NOT travel insurance. This is healthcare insurance world wide. It excludes the US but you are still allowed 21 days of travel. You can include the US but then you will be paying a lot more!
In the meantime,
The cost varies by each individual.
Stay tuned!

Boy is this video speaking to me. I lived in Victoria too for a couple of years and now still live across the water in White Rock. During the pandemic I left to Mexico and maxed out my 6 month visa and travelled a couple of more countries and loved it.

The grass always seems better… lol. Expensive in Canada? Of course. That is what has provided the standard of living that we in the west have so come to enjoy. Be thankful for your good fortune. Enjoy. PS. Where do we sign up? Great video and story.
Hey there,
Thanks for watching our video and for taking the time to connect with us.
Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Jill and Randy
