- Quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com taking a sketch and turning it into an editable line-art before adding colour and shading
In this video, I apply the pencil and pen tool along with stroke pressure curves to create a crisp line-art design from a rough sketch. Additional vector shapes and lines for shading below the line-art make it easy to colour the design.
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobe's Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.
See more Affinity Designer and Inkscape tutorials on the website at 2dgameartguru.com.

I am glad you liked it. Thanks!
Super useful, thank you. Really well explained
Glad it was helpful!
Loved this. Amazing. I’m using the iPad and pencil……. Can you do another video where you explain more about the re tracing the design? And all the part where you re draw the shapes to add in the color. Newbie here, lol! I’m working a project where I’m having to touch each node to adjust or delete,,,, but you did something to drop nodes and then make them curve all for the whole shape…. Can you slowly explain tests? Thank you.
You can select multiple nodes [with the node tool] and then convert them into either 'smooth' or 'smart' in the convert section. Smooth did round all those shapes of my rough pen draw and allowed me to quickly adjust the few sections that needed more detail.
Great tutorial thank you ❤️🇦🇺
Glad it was helpful!
