  • This is a real review not a promotional review of the FODSPORTS M1S PRO - Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom.
Most of the reviews I found on here and on Amazon are promotional reviews. This is where the product was provided for free in exchange for a positive review.
I purchased these out of pocket and wanted to write a real review of the headsets.
    Single Unit amzn.to/3YAQc2n
    Pair amzn.to/47pXDxm
I have spent time researching and testing each of the above items and found the best possible prices for the best quality parts and tools. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I receive a small commission from the sellers on the back end that does not affect your price.

We as a motorcycling family have 4. Fodsports M1-S pro & we have been using them for 2 years without any problems. The range & sound quality is Ok, they can struggle a bit when out of sight of each other. The functions they have for the price is good.

If the sound has low volume, no bass, more than likely speaker placement is off.
Usually the speakers need to be moved closer to your ears to improve the sound.
There is also three different setting for the audio output. Push one click on - /+ bottons "same bottons for volume up and down" at the same time.
This will change the audio from bass boost, to mid-level voice, hi treble.
I have the fodsports M1air. l use the third setting, hi treble, they sound really good, plenty of bass, plenty of volume.
Speaker placement, audio controls on the fodsport, phone set correctly makes a huge difference in sound.
My M1 air has plenty of volume.
I use it while riding snowmobile, 2019 Polaris 850 with an aftermarket pretty loud exhaust can.
My helmet is a castlex CX 950v. I listenen at the volume of 7 clicks on the + botton, plenty loud under any riding conditions.

I did adjust the placement. The speakers are pretty much right where they should be. The com has more volume than the music. I wish there were individual volume controls for the different sources.

@@kdsgarage8475 there is, the volume setting for the radio, can be different from the intercom. If you have the volume all the way up on the radio, or Bluetooth, when you switch to intercom, the volume will be whatever the intercom volume is at.
I turn my volume for my radio or Bluetooth 7 klicks up from the lowest setting.
When I activate and start talking on the intercom I turn the volume all the way up.
When you go back to Bluetooth the volume will be set where it was, 7 clicks from lowest setting.
Same for the intercom, it'll be turned all the way up when you activate it, this is what you last had it set at.
If yours aren't loud enough, something's wrong! Mine will play too loud.
Do you have the speakers up against your ear? You want the speakers barely touching your ears
Place the speakers as close as possible to your ears without making them sore.
Make sure your phone volume is turned all the way up.
That's the first thing I do every time I turn my system on, check my phone volume to make sure it's turn all the way up.

Okay so I just got my unit and I see what you were talking about. But I have two solutions one is cheaper than the other.
First solution is: get more of the velcro spacers to move the speakers closer to your ear. In the box, it only comes with one spacer for each side but I'm sure you would be able to find spacers online. This would create a perceived increase in volume even
Second option is more expensive but i believe would be well worth it: after playing around with the unit for a while I realized that it will output audio in the speakers that's inside the helmet and out of an AUX device simultaneously. You would have to get a separate set of helmet speakers (speaker only, no mic) and put in your helmet along with the speakers that's already in there, and plug it into the aux port. Mind you, the aux port on the unit is a 2.5 mm port so you would have to get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to fit the speakers. I'm thinking of getting the IASUS XSound 3 drop in headset from Amazon. I haven't tried it yet but I believe it will drain the battery on the unit faster but it will be like surround sound in your helmet.
Let me know if this helps

Not sure about the M1S Pro but the FX4 Pro has a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can use In Ear Monitors (IEMs) for better music freq response and noise cancelling. Does the M1S pro use USB C or USB micro interface?

You really did an amazing job on this video. So helpful, so clear. Thank you very much!! Do you feel like the clip will scratch the outside of the helmet over time? Seems like maybe it would be good to place a piece of soft material between the clip and the helmet. Thanks again.

This is a good unit, his speaker placement must be off, this thing is plenty loud, with good bass.
Wouldn't matter how much money you spend, what brand you buy. If audio settings on the fodsport, phone are not set correctly speaker placement is off, they all sound like crappy.

Music sounds like crap in helmets no matter what com system you have. I have a top of the line Cardo with the JBL speakers and it sounds pretty much how you describe it. Tinny, no low end. At highway speeds it's barely gonna be audible over the wind noise. Keep in mind that at high speed the noise level in your helmet is probably over 100db.

The fodsports is a pretty good system, sounds good if you get the speakers positioned right in the helmet, plenty loud for me. I have the fodsports system in a G-max helmet.
I also have the syphon sound system in a castle CX 950 V2 helmet, the cost, $140.00 more then the fodsports system.
The siphon sound system also sounds really good, with the speakers positioned right.
Is the siphon sound worth $140 more dollars than the fodsport? My answer is no, after first-hand listening experience with both brands.
The trick to good sound, with these helmet systems, is to play around with speaker placement.

    • @kdsgarage8475
      @kdsgarage8475  7 місяців тому +1

Honestly, I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference. Maybe there’s an app that’ll boost the level of the Bluetooth output from your music source.
