I have owned several bikes and I can honestly say this thing is the most fun of them all. I felt like a pro on the Tail of the Dragon on this bike. It just does whatever you want it to do.
Drove this bike yesterday. Lots of fun and very playful. However, it is very expensive and you would be better of spending that money on a naked. It’s a toy, rather than a naked that you can use for commuting, tracking, touring in more comfort.
If it came in under the price of something like a MT09, I think you see them everywhere. But you’re right, way too much money vs the value of other bikes on the market. Hell, even the new monster seems like a much more comprehensive package for the same price.
It should be about 8500. Its just a single cylinder bike.. That's why you don't see very many new riders. All the bikes being over priced. Its annoying to me.
The difference in price between a 698RVE and a 950RVE is AU$2300 - the 698RVE sells for AU$24400 ride away. 57kW/63Nm/151kg dry v 84kW/97Nm/178kg dry. Solid argument for the twin.

Had mine for 2000 miles. It’s the sportbike of SuMos. Whereas the KTM/Husky SM feels a lot more like a big dual sport. I’ve owned an SMC R 690 before the 698 Mono. Pick your poison. I prefer the Ducati. Because I like riding pavement and I can keep it in the proper gear and the revs high. If you puttering around, this isn’t bike for you. If you like revving the piss out of a motorcycle, then the 698 is for you.
@@Raghupathy. It can do long trips. But you probably won’t find it comfortable. I’d suggest wearing cycling chamois underwear because the seat can cause discomfort after a little while.
In regards to seat comfort, I guess Ducati doesn't expect the owners of this bike to be going out for long highway trips. Nope, this one is for short ripping and roaring down back roads closer to home. It looks like a fun bike.
I'm a newish rider, everytime I see a motard at a petrol station the guy looks like he is winning. There was a 698 at my local dealer, for a 5' 8" guy they seem slightly intimidating. Still, great look.
77hp is not that big of a leap compared to a 690 or a Husqvarna so the "most powerful single" is not that big of a selling point i'd say. I'd much rather get an older Hypermotard 796 with the L engine and 80hp.
This sort of bike is nothing more than a narrow focused licence loser for urban menaces. Totally useless at distance work, no faring protection, uncomfortable and I bet it will suck a shit ton of gas. Completely impractical . God I want one. Badly.
I ride a xr650r sm, trust me, no other bikes come close to riding in urban streets. Insane handling, can handle any road conditions, best lane splitters, rugged if knocked over in a parking lot, easy to maintain, hooooots of fun power to weight, lightweight, and performance 0 to 70mph is as good as you possibly could want. Properly geared cruising at 75mph is no problem, plush suspension. Wind is an issue like any naked bike. Ride a goldwing if you dont like that.
This bike is so unreasonable that I wish I had it as a next after I'll get too bored with CB500X. It looks like a blast for commuting, my only concern is that it might be too much for it.
Why would you buy a supermoto and drive all day long under 5000rpm? Thats like marrying a supermodel than telling her to go mow the grass in army fatigues.
I own this bike and I can confirm it's fast and fun. I'm selling mine already because unlike Bob, I'm dumb and I buy and then sell bikes for channel content. 😂 so if anyone in the States is interested, it's a great deal ($2k under MSRP and not even broken in yet).
@@AM-uk7jv it's fine around 4-5k rpm, maybe not as good as the KTM. U can still lug it a little if u don't like running really high rpm alot, where it's quite buzzy and very loud.

Love Ducati styling but just way too expensive for what you get. Not sure who in their right mind would choose this over and MT-09. Well no one without serious money that has 5-10 bikes already.
Danke!

Utter nonsense pricing. Ducati needs some 👊👊
Its got more going on than a KTM off road bike and most of them are above $9k
Traded two Motorcycles in to buy one also got the track exhaust , have great fun with it and its the best handling bike iv ever owned.😄✌👍

Great video 👍
What’s the leather jacket you’re wearing in the video?
What kind of ducati bike is it?
What is with that cable above the dash?
Front brake line. Long travel bikes like this need room for the line to move up and down with the suspension. Many enduros have this, as do SM's.

Good base for a new ‘Sled’ Rob?
It was all going well until I saw the hideous looping cable over the bars, as with the Honda CRF300L.

£2000 for a single cylinder engine's exhaust 😮
It’s a full Termignoni system and it includes a remap plus the wheelie assist function, so it’s not just the exhaust you’re paying for
