WARNING: this is a long comment. ok. lol. (But I hope you'll still read it 😛)
I AM SOOOO IN LOVE WITH THIS COM.PLEX EP. Growing up, I love love country songs. I was never into pop or rnb or rock or raps or any others, usually just country songs. But then I came across SB19 and I slowly transitioned into loving their music, especially Pablo's rich lyricism. And when I came to know them deeper, I loved their story and how they came about and it was all super inspiring and encouraging. Then now, Ken suddenly sidelined as a soloist and brought out the adventurous and experimemtal Felip who suddenly turned my world upside down (like literally). Coz I never thought that I would ever love these types of songs that he had released. It was also a very big adjustment for me but since I love Felip and his passion for music, I learned to appreciate his creations more. Not only because they were presented so artistically and aesthetically, but more so, they were all so raw and new and fresh and vulnerable to me. I saw one of his interviews about this album and Felip said that he is presenting these songs to us like pieces of art, abstract canvasses, and it's all up to each of us to interpret it on our own. So there is really no right or wrong interpretations, we all see it as it is and it will just give us its meaning based on how we saw it and how we felt about it. And it just feels so true. Despite its big big potential, his music overall is not really something that is targetted to go big but more like, it is targetting anyone that can relate to it. So it is more personal. What I especially love about this album is that, Felip gave us a piece of his brain in here (The visualizer explains this. You can see his tears where he let us inside his mind through his eye, on how he sees things. Inside, we see him falling down and stuck with the colorful background around him. This means that he also have struggles on his own and the backgroud just show his potentials and complexities. Then he let us see his darkside, represented by the skull which was eventually covered with flesh then the FELIP word comes in and melts. And it goes on repeat. It is like letting us see a more vulnerable side of him and letting us know that this skull is still him, this dark side is him, the one falling down is him, the colorful background are part of him, and all that is Felip). This is Felip opening up, unravelling a vulnerable side of him to the public eye. As introverted as he is (ex. Felip said he can't even order food from a fastfood counter because it's too much of a conversation for him), I commend him for being brave enough to bring this side of him out and talk about his own complexities (which we all have too). This album is so cohesive and the songs are all interconnected with each other, like the whole experience of listening to it is telling you a story. The opening song is Rocksta which depicts a more bold and confident Felip, telling us that all of us are Rockstars in own way and that we should be more confident and bold about who we are and in whatever we do. Then followed by Superiority, where he talks about his uniqueness and authenticity. In here, he is saying you think you can be me but "nope", you can never be me because I am unique on my own. No one can ever be the same as me. I think that this is the superiority that he talking about. Our tendency to copt others is a weakness and it makes us feel inferior. So we need to realize that all of us are uniquely different from each other and that no matter how hard you try to copy others, you can never do it because you are different on your own. So it's like, why not bank on my own uniqueness instead? Once we truly accept being uniquely different, we overcome this weakness, we realize that we don't need to be like anyone, then this is the real superiority coz not everyone can really do this (a lot of people now are just going with the flow and follows what is dictated by "the society"...only a few are really brave enough to just be their authentic self). Next we move to Mictest, this song for me talks about how proud he is of his roots, his language, and where he came from. He is already considered a big star in the Philippine music industry and so his music can really go main stream. From Palayo to Mictest and even the other bisaya rap verses on his other songs, you can really see here that he is proud of his descent, not only a proud Filipino but also a proud Bisaya. Philippines is a diverse country with very diverse cultures for each reason. And Felip doing this, he is representing all the Bisayas. I remember him saying one time before that he was shy to bring out his compositions because they were written in Bisaya but then Pablo encouraged him that his love and passion for music should transcend language barriers. So what if it's in Bisaya? So what if you can't write a song in tagalog or english? Being able to compose music and write lyrics (whatever language that is) is already a very big WOW and a God-given gift. And now, many loved his Bisaya songs which I think can encourage more Filipinos from other ethnic groups to also bring out their songs and be proud of it. Moving on, after Mictest is Drinksmoke. He said in an interview that this song was really made to speak out for those who are drinking and smoking and how people judge them negatively just because they do. We all got demons in our heads and these vices are our escape from these demons. So we all should not be judgemental about other people because we don't really know what they're going through. We may not be drinking or smoking literally but we all have our own unhealthy vices that we do to cope up with our own pains. So whatever it is that we do, may it be smoking or drinking or eating a lot or computer games or shopping or tattooing or piercing or any other stuff, we all should be more understanding. No more prejudices, BAWAL JUDGEMENTAL. And then we have the song Criminal, which I think speaks about the dark side that we all have inside us. This song goes deep because it speaks about our own state of mind, our mental health. I think in this song, Felip is talking to himself, trying to save himself from his own self. He said he had poison in his blood stuck on him and he just wanna take it out but can't. Whether we admit it or not, we all have gone through this, being stuck inside our own maze, imprisoning or drowning our ownselves. We all wanna save ourselves from ourselves but can't until we all somehow gets addicted to this feeling. And so it really takes a "criminal", a thief, to like finally come and steal us, take us out of our drowning self. And this criminal is none other than ourselves. No one save us except our ownselves. Lastly, he ends the album with Straydogs. Here he is talking about all the haters talking s*** about him. He denotes that all these people are just like stray dogs barking at him, woofing, but he wouldn't care. He says he's a villain and not a superhero. He is not here to satisfy these straydogs and their banters. He is not here to save them from their own miseries and insecurities that is projected through the "HATE" they're all throwing at him. Felip is the villain, remember? So they can just keep barking but he'll just continue flexing (his clothes, his talents, his influence, his style, his music) no matter what they say. It's like he's already come to the point where he just shows up what he wanna show up and wouldn't really care about the barkings from his haters. Geez. All the songs are just so poppin' good. It's really an experience to listen to these songs which are so uniquely different from each other but also so interconnected. This whole album is only more than 15 minutes long but the feeling you get is a roller coaster of emotions. It really speaks about all our complexities, these mixed personalities and that we have to deal with within ourselves. We all can be confident of ourselves (rocksta, superiority) and embrace our roots and where we came from (mictest) but at the end of the day, we still have demons inside us that is pulling us down and we have to deal with it (drinksmoke), so we all just gotta continue trying to save ourselves (criminal) even if have to be our own criminals. Finally, once we get through all these and deal with these complexities, we can already face our haters and everyone barking at us without care (straydogs). We'll no longer be dictated by whatever they say and whatever they want us to be or want us to do. We will all just be our own unique and beautiful authentic self, flexing our talents, who we are, what we do and whatever we have. The feeling I really got were all goosebumps and tears and complex emotions but it left me an uplifting end after these realizations. COM.PLEX is very unexpectedly so well crafted and made. Very awesome and I just love love it so much.
In view hereof, I hope I was able to help out anyone out there who is going through the same. My interpretations maybe different from others or maybe the same, but what matters most is what these songs made us feel and the journey it made us all go through while listening to it. P.S. Felip's voice though, eargasm at its finest. And his musicality, the way he mixes guitars and those beats and all the unconventional techniques he did with his songs, worldclass. I hope his songs reaches more people and I wish everyone all the best that this whole world can offer.❤❤❤

I love Felip's COM.PLEX EP. It's a glimpse of what is Felip as a person and as an artist. it's like a representation of his personality... Very unique, mysterious, and yes, complex. My niece is the art director of Wonder magazine and done a few of their cover shots since 2020. She did the photoshoot of Ken for Chivas in collab with a clothing brand, not the liquor. Her recent project with them was the Mapa x Selecta MV. She can attest that Ken is a very silent person. Outside of SB19, he won't talk unless you talk to him. He is so shy that back in the days, he won't order in fast food restos. My niece was so shocked when I showed him Felip's solo during Pagtatag. She doesn't have any idea he could do that as she is not a fan.
When Felip 1st released his EP, so many people speculated that he will leave SB19 for his solo career. He was even accused of using SB19 as a stepping stone. But he said his groupmates were the ones who encouraged him to push with this EP. And that he loves his brothers, would never leave the group, and he will die as a member of SB19.

I love Criminal the most, followed by DrinkSmoke. Actually, those two plus MicTest were the fan favorites. The first song was just a teaser for the EP that's why it was so short. And Felip doesn't drink. He's allergic to alcohol 😊.
His Com-plex album was really of international standard. Except for the Visayan words that he incorporated, it doesn't reflect Philippine music, which was good coz Palayo and Bulan already showcased his Filipino roots.
Now that you've listened to all the songs, please watch his PPop Con 2023 performance. You'll see a different Felip there. It was simply awesome and I think his best, so far.
Felip may be introverted but his solo promotion of the Com-plex EP sort of helped him get out of his shell. I think he's a lot less shy now.
I'm so obsessed with SB19 right now and I'm glad that a lot of reactors are falling in love with them too. Let's go on this SB19 journey together.
My EP Complex bias is Drinksmoke. I am crying everytime i hear it. I could feel the pain. In his Superior Sessions his voice is a stand out.
In PPopcon he performed Rocksta, Mictest and Straydogs, hope you could have an RV to this. I am so proud of his performance there. His level is of internatinal caliber. I am sure you want to see how a good performer he is as Felip. His aura is so powerful as Felip.
My eyes got teary with your reaction and comments about Felip’s music. He really is one in a million. Thank you for appreciating his talents and for supporting him and SB19. He really has a different aura whenever he performs as FELIP. I hope you could react to his performance at the PPOP2023 concert. Before I am not into fangirling. I’m not that type of person. Each of these songs offer different flavors of excitement. These songs on repeat on my playlist.
Love your commentary on Drinksmoke the most. You really get them (SB19). With Felip, I do hope this is merely an expression of the battles in his mind, some sort of release. I hold on to that because as far as I know he doesn’t even touch alcohol. I feel like he’s talking about an even more distressing temptation though. 🥺
Now as an artist. His delivery, right? The expression on his face, the eyes, the way he holds on to his face, how he’s arching his body. Sigh.
I must say I get what you mean about feeling protective. I feel the same to the point that I pray for them literally and regularly. What is this 😅

Thank you for listening to Felip’s music. Yes this EP is very much like him Complex & very deep. He’s really a versatile artist who’s not afraid to experiment & try different genres. He fully talked about this album as well as his childhood & difficulties before joining SB19 thru a podcast by Dougbrock TV m. I hope you could give it a watch it’s English captioned so it’s ok. My top 3 are Superiority, Criminal & Straydogs but followed closely by Drinksmoke, Mictest & Rocksta. Btw I’ve seen him performed these songs live during his mini concerts (5 out 6) & all were lit! I hope you coukd also react to it there are fancams available on YT. 🐣💙

For me, Drink Smoke is a contradictory in itself. Every time he sings this, he will insert an advise, "No, don't do it. That's bad, that's bad". He doesn't smoke nor drink or even party. He hasn't even been inside a disco! He was raised by his grandfather who is a Pastor. His dad is also a pastor. And until now, he respects and follows their teachings. I was surprised he even made this. Felip is Ken's alter ego. Maybe he's just testing the waters in this EP.

Hurraira, you just made me so happy. This is my affirmation that am not crazy being crazy for Felip. His demeanor in every performance just oozes so much passion but done in a sort of contained way that you keep wanting for more. He really is world-class. Please please react to his PPop Con 2023 performance. You will see why we clamor for that once you watch it. Felip's aura really changed when he made this Complex EP. It seemed like because of these songs, he has freed himself of the shackles of uncertainty. I feel like he has finally discovered how grand of a talent he has, and there's no way he can fight it anymore. Speaking for all his die hard fans who have followed his journey and who are so protective of him, we noticed how happy his countenance was once this EP was released. He has found a new confidence. And I feel like this is because finally, he has found a way to communicate better, through music. In fact, he said in interviews that music is his language. Love, love this man, and like you, I cannot wait to see what more he can offer, considering that he has just started. Thank you for reacting to his Complex EP. Love this EP but esp the superior sessions. I'm a sucker for live band. His EP is my jam as well. I'm more into rock alternative, emo, rap metal genre. The Superiority song has Rage Against the Machine vibe (for me). He knows this genre is not so popular in Philippines. It's nit everyone's cup of tea. But like you said he's a world class talent.
Felip is my bias becoz of his mysterious aura, funny side, and his complexities.

Complex is complex indeed. I had to listen to it multiple times and watch multiple reaction videos to understand it better. I honestly didn’t like at first but after listening to it again and again it grew on me. Now I listen to the EP almost on a daily.
Felip/Ken bias here, but OT5 too. I raved on how you dissect his multiverse personality, the same way I see him the first time back in 2019, but can't fathom the hidden complexities. I finally saw your reaction on this E.P complex.. well among the members ken/felip got the most hates maybe because of his intimidating aura or the badass attitude but little did they know he is such a baby with a soft kind heart. Anyway this is one of a kind E.P, very unique. It's new to my ears.

I love all his song, but yes i have bias from his Complex EP, *Drinksmoke* because i somehow relate, not about the bad habit but, the personal struggles i have and how people misunderstood my behaviour and decisions.
I also like Superiority, because, yes, you are right, it sounds like more rock for me. Im always a rock fan until SB19 came to my life, lol. That's why i was so excited about Felip's releases. Criminal sometimes coming up neck and neck with Superiority, esp this Superior Sessions version. I just love the sounds of live bands.

COZ DO Y'ALL REMEMBER THAT ROCK STAGE OF DOOM DADA AND ACT LIKE NOTHING'S WRONG in the bb concert?! Sorry but until now it lives rent free in my bed (yep i meditate on it coz i wanna dream about it lolololol). Also, i hope he releases a a straydogs kinda song. Now on ken. Before i deep dived into sb19, ken looked like he would be my bias. But now i just think he could be my cool chill friend. The friend who i could live with for days and sometimes not talk. We'd just chill and watch docus and anime. Lol.
