- This weekend was IPMS Scale Model World 2023 at the Telford International Centre. Dozens of model clubs were present, displaying thousands of incredible models. There were also a lot of traders and some bargains to be had. Watch to find out what kits I bought.

Great seeing all these purchases,if I went to Telford I would definetly be broke by now,theres something for everyone.And I love the Modelcollect Fost of war Tanks so can’t wait to see that one!
Yes, I had to be very restrained! I wasn't generally tempted because many of the retailers are those with large web presences anyway - but the smaller sellers and the occasional bargain caught my eye :)

@@ljscalemodels526 Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of time in the competition area as I had to leave fairly soon after it opened and I hadn't planned on leaving my bags outside the area entrance. Next time I'll know and take them to the car first.

Cheers! Absolutely - I've had a couple of really busy weeks that have almost stopped me from building, but I'm slowly getting back to it :)
Some great purchases there,I went on the Saturday and it was crowded indeed, I didn't buy a kit but spent far too much on consumables and bits and pieces, I think next year I will go on the Sunday it looks a bit quieter,
Yes - it quietened down in the afternoon but Sunday is usually less crowded I believe
Nice haul there. I like Rubicon kits, loads of options and a nice size. The king Tiger with full interior is very good. Done one Modelcollect kit, the Jagdtiger tracks were awful. The Wingleader books are so useful as a reference.
Yes, I was tempted by the King Tiger with full interior, especially to see how it is in this scale!
It is very good. You can have it so you can open it up afterwards so unlike aircraft you can see the interior again! 🙂@@ModelNerd
I do like the size of catallogue they have plus the range of subject matter. They also now cover Vietnam era. I live in hope of an Elephant release for German vehicles.

I know what you mean! It can be quite overwhelming.
Some nice kits there mate. Have heard of an E50 and E100. But not heard of the E60. Those Rubicon kits do have decent detail for the smaller scale that they are.

Some time ago I bought over fifty kit model! You have to resist the temptation not to buy too many things because they are really wonderful;
there are also Spitfires and Lancasters of various sizes and brands that I will realised. I particularly like the "WW2 soldiers from Airfix.
But above all I prefer the German models even than the Italian ones ...
(I am from Italy, you know well).

I never knew that the Germans planned a "Saber-toothed Tiger" - so I guess it was supposed to be larger than a King Tiger? Anyway, looks like a great build and I hope you will film it! Happy modeling...
Yes, I think this really is an extrapolation of the German plans. Should be a decent size too...

Tamiya cement is awful for Rubicon!
Plastic Magic works perfectly.
It's great on polystyrene too, although quite agressive. Sometime that's good!
Also, Rubicon kits vary in quality. Older kits tend to have no track details.
Some kits barely fit together, or turrets that collide with surface detail when they turn.
Their Tiger I is awful in every way. The Warlord/Italeri is miles better.
I'm building their new T-54 kit now, and it's a huge improvement. More parts to glue though.
Another thing about Rubicon is there's so many options you end up doing hours of research to figure out which go together for what you had in mind. I'ts almost endless with some of their kits.

I sometimes use it to smooth out sandpapered surfaces.

Never discount wargaming scale! They can be pretty decent in terms of detail, I personally struggle with bigger kits, 28mm suits me fine. Perry Historicals are a favourite of mine, a hang over from my GW days, no knock to them of course.
