This video is very thorough and I followed it all the way through doing the job myself. Not a hard job at all, but a little time consuming. Thanks so much for posting it.
Very good video with clear instructions and CORRECT steps and methodology! Does the car’s touchscreen need any additional steps eg. Re-register the FWD’s?
Thanks for the video. Just one question. Why did you show using Category III Lineman's Gloves when disconnecting the First Responder Loop? I understand that you were being overly cautious, but you might freak people out about this step. This is not a high voltage connection (it would be orange if it was), its just a 12V supply like many other standard vehicle systems.
@@jorty. yep, nothing to worry about with this connection as far as High Voltage goes. Firefighters are told to cut this wire when fighting a vehicle fire specifically because of the fact that it’s only 12V and cutting/disabling this circuit causes the contactors in the main HV battery to stop providing electricity to the rest of the HV (bright orange)wiring. Basically it isolates the battery in an emergency or for servicing the HV system
Is it true the only battery (12v) that will work with my 2016 model x 90d is the atlasbx/hankook 12v 45ah battery? Like Autozone or O’Reilly won’t have an alternative??
Hi - Thanks for watching! Any 12-volt battery that meets or exceeds the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications for the battery can be used in your vehicle.
The ONE piece of information I needed was cheated on in this video. In the video, the lower part of the cage is already removed from behind the frame before its tilted and lifted out at 6:23. On my X, it just won't fit, the lower bracket is trapped BEHIND the rail, not just resting in front of it, and I was hoping for right order to tilt and lean the cage to remove it. :( Disappointed.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. We followed the instructions in the manufacturer’s service manual and didn’t run into that situation. We suggest that you check the vehicle owner’s manual or a service/repair manual for your vehicle.

Good job on the vid. Thx. But what brain-child engineer designed this system? Seriously, they couldn't figure out how to make the swap without having to take the whole front end apart?
Despite the comedically terrible rock music, I'm very grateful for your video and the process went smoothly yesterday.
