Can a pfo close on its own after age 25? I'm 31 and need a tee test this Tues to rule out how big it is. Whether I need it closed or not. I got a tee back in 2014 and he said it was so tiny. Can it get bigger since then ? I've been having weird heart palpitations bad during my period only and it's constant until I sit down and relax bc it does get me scared... I'm scared of getting tee procedure and then also if I need a PFO closed or not 😂 also is exercise okay when someone has a PFO? Bc it does it when I get sweaty you know what it feels like to almost have heat exhaustion when you're like just sweaty in the house and there's no cold air well I feel my body just sweats up for no reason all over and I feel so overheated and it happens then as well the palpitations.. couldn't just be dehydration?. My blood work always comes back perfect with everything...I'm so stumped I don't take any medications....
What I think has a correlation now don't get me wrong I don't know... I was born with a collapsed lung and got life-flighted .. but I turned out to be okay before I got to the hospital.... The only thing wrong with me is I found out when I was 21 back in 2011 that I have a rare eye disease which is some lack of blood flow to the optic nerve in my retina which is AKA the brain... So is there any correlation you think with blood flow....and the heart. As to why my electrical beating is off when in palpitates? NOONE around me as in doctors really care lol. I just really hope my procedure on Tuesday goes well so I don't need any surgery 😂 but if I do I guess it's better to get it now than when I'm older!

Went to the cardiologist the other day for the same reason:PFO. He said the PFO doesn’t get bigger and that if you have otherwise good health, no clotting genetic disorders , then it’s not a problem. Now for the symptoms ur experiencing I’d consult a doctor. Maybe not a cardiologist but somebody to rule out what’s going on.

My 13 year old son had a cryptogenic stroke in December and they found a PFO. He is perfectly healthy other than that.

How’s he getting on, did he have the closure?? I also had the same diagnosis (or undiagnosis depending how you look at it).
