I had so much fun making this video and hope you enjoy all the tips and suggestions that I’ve shared with you! And be sure to watch all the way to the end because we have some really cool footage from our new camera! As always, thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing, Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Avenue
Whenever I go to antique booths I "assume" that the owner has already comp'd them and price them Ebay prices. I also assume the booth owner has the piece online for sale.
“ l’ll get it done, don’t you worry”. You said that about packing the flatware liner but it occurs to me that this is your attitude toward life in general. Yes, Vickie, whatever it is, you will get it done. I love the new vlog format.
Ahh, Pat. Your comment nearly brought me to tears. And, I mean that sincerely. I am a person who believes in finding solutions to situations. I've been that way since my early 20's. I give most everything I do 100% of my energy and effort. Thus, why growing this channel has often been disheartening to me. It is growing more now. Time will tell. Thank you Pat!
I’ve been watching your vlog on tv and so am only down subscribing and commenting. I sincerely think you are the greatest and you are easily my favorite UA-camr. (But then I have a hard time watching the youngsters.) I am 77 and just started reselling recently to be able to supplement my meager SS check. You have so much valuable info that you so easily share and what I love the most is how down to earth and authentic you both are. So. Thank you!!!
Love Mark's "how hungry are you" analogy! I am not having an issue sources but I live in a very rural area of Tennessee where there are probably 1-2 other resellers than myself. I have no Goodwills near me. I only have a couple of thrift stores and now yard/estate sales starting. I just started reselling Jan. 2024 and I have been sourcing my own home so far and a few trips to the thrift store. Great video!
I look at everything- look under tables etc... My husband is the fast shopper- runs thru quick and is ready to go. He goes early to sales and then comes home to stay with the kids and then I go later- he can't believe what I come home with. He will say I didn't see that! I find many cool and unique items that he passes right by.
As a sailor, when I was younger I did a left turn and sailed across the Atlantic. I joined a yacht as a crew member (there were 3 of us - the captain/owner and 2 of us crew) and there was another boat of a couple from New Zealand who were also traveling and had been to Panama. She had purchased a nice pile of molas and I purchased a couple. I still have it hanging as a memento of my trip. I love your videos and outlook on things. One thing I noticed and this was before the pandemic, is that the local Salvation Army had empty shelves. I was baffled as I drove around back and there were literally piles and piles of boxes in a long row - about 40 feet long of donated items. I figured that they didn't have enough staff to process and fill the shelves. But this was sad, I did send an email to them asking about this, of course I got no response. I think the advantage of being an older seller, we have more patience and also came from era's where the stuff was actually used. The younger sellers may not know what some of the stuff is and walk right by. I just love your jewelry and upcycling you are doing. I learn something every time I watch your videos. Thank you for taking us along on your shopping!
I think most thrift stores are still short staff. They only want to "pay" a few people and depend on too many "volunteers." No volunteers that day, well....barely any staff. Thank you!
The new camera is wild. Sorry you missed the 2 church sales, you always find some great items there. I loved the wall brackets you found at Restore. There are so many resellers out there now and so many are doing a race to the bottom. Have you ever checket out belts, some sell for good prices, while others are bread and butter. I definitely would have bought the quilting kit. Being a quilter, i would have thought i had died and gone to heaven, if i had found it. Wow, you covered so many things in your video.
I have sold some belts but prefer to just sell belt buckles (easier to photograph). Didn't know you were a quilter. I've made "one" in my lifetime many decades ago but I can appreciate ALL the materials, time and effort that goes in to making quilts. Thank you Maggie!
For sure, we do sell some unusual things! I try to avoid "common" things unless I have experience selling them already for a decent or easy profit. Thank you Jeanie!
What an awesome video Vickie! Great point about looking at things that otherwise I would overlook to resell. Recently I moved and was unpacking a box and found old unused Avery office products. I found on ebay they were sold for descent money... for sure more than I originally paid for them. Thank you so much for sharing! I appreciate you and Mark! That camera is everything! What a beautiful area you live in!
Thank you Vicki! Yes, I bet we all could find good to great stuff in our own stash to resell. Personally, I buy a lot of office supplies to "use." Thank you!
You always hit a home run on your videos! I have to tell you that, surprisingly, I have made a few sales on mercari since the changes. I filled the orders with trepidation, though. I'm happy to report that, so far, no returns!
Another great video (of course). Turns out my mother-in-law was getting rid of a "Mola" and I grabbed it and didn't know what it was. I'm happy to know that it can be sold without the frame as I was fretting on how I'd ship it. Yay! Also, I find it pretty cool that you got one of those 360 cameras. I didn't know that they existed until about a week ago. I was watching a guy hiking in the UK on UA-cam and it kept looking like he had a drone in front of him, but then he was even recording himself, face forward, getting on a train---and I know he didn't have a drone going in there! I couldn't see a selfie-stick, just that he held his hand in a funny way. I commented on his video, asking him what the trick was in editing that he was doing---he replied that it was the exact same camera that you are using not editing!! I can share his channel name with you if you want to see it for ideas but maybe you've already seen similar and that's why you bought the camera! I look forward to more after you've figured it out and won't make me motion sick! LOL! (very cool ending shot!!)
WooHoo....MOLA for you! OMGosh....we're so excited about this camera. I'm still learning how to edit the video clips. We first learned of it too from UA-cam videos. We follow a few outdoor channels who use it. That's how we first fell in love with the idea of getting one. Thank you Lynne!
You are lucky you have so many thrift stores to shop at. Is that regional as I watch another youtube channel from IN and they also have many thrift shops.
We don't feel like we have many. We always think of "big cities" and large "urban areas" as having lots of thrift stores. We have one Goodwill, one Restore and one Salvation Army. We head to other towns to find more. Thank you Rosemary!
I wondered why we didnt see you at either of those chuch sales. We got to Holy Mountain before open and there were more people in line than I have ever seen before. It was full but I didn't find much.
Craft "leaflets" are typically a bi-fold (folded) paper pattern (8.5 x 11). Craft "booklets" are paper cover books that have several pages (thicker than a leaflet). Both give information about something....for what we sell....craft projects, needlework patterns, etc. Hope that helps. Thanks, Karen!
I found one of those Cats by Nina vases at GW several days ago…had a very small chip…since the cat was black and white it kind of blended in, I passed anyway…wonder if I should have grabbed it? I’m sure if I go back today, it will be gone. Just wondered your views on issues like that?
It depends upon where the chip is, the cost of the cat and what they are currently selling for. We do buy things with "imperfections" but it does affect the price we can get (sometimes). Thanks, Karen!
@@AvanteAvenue thanks so much for the info on the cat and the booklet/leaflet question. I went back to GW and of course the cat was gone. The real kicker is, I used to have one of those Cats by Nina in perfect condition.

yes, it was a fun video to watch. Very diversified and interesting.
Yes yes yes! So True. I have to turn to the pallets and end cap clearances for inventory!
Whenever I go to antique booths I "assume" that the owner has already comp'd them and price them Ebay prices. I also assume the booth owner has the piece online for sale.

Agree! Thank you!
“Like flies on sugar” ha ha! Way to keep it family friendly! 😊
Ha! Ha! That's just what came to me in the moment!

Thank you so much!
love your videos , content, relaxed but informative content. and your hair looks great!
Love that you love it, Laura! And, thanks on the “hair” compliment! I rarely take a curling iron to it, but I was tired of having bad hair days. Lol.
That camera is amazing. Love the view of your yard. Thanks for sharing Vickie and Mark.
We are still learning to use it, but love it! Thanks, Diane!
What an awesome camera. I can't wait to see all your creativity come to life.
Thank you! We're excited. Tried it out again a few days ago. I'm still learning how to edit the video clips.
Wow that final shot was incredible. What fun. Thanks for the additional information. Gorgeous location and home.
Thank you Rosemary!
I think most people look at things and not walls. Great catch on that yarn artwork.
Probably. I try to look "everywhere" including under the tables and in boxes. Thank you!
The camera looks great fun. I love the Molas.
Fun for sure! Still lots to learn about it. Thank you!

Had to work at it but found a few. Thank you Wendy!

I would not have picked up that storage drawer liner, but now I will know it if I see one.
It's my first time to find one of these! If you ever find one be sure to let us know! Thank you!

Yep. Missed them. I'm surprised to hear that you didn't see much to resell. I guess we didn't miss "much" after all. Thanks Kristy!
Found a few Mola pcs at my Goodwill about a year ago. Both sold fairly quickly. It was hard to let them go 😬
Woohoo for you! Easy come….not so easy to let go. I get it. Thank you Sharon!
What are craft pattern leaflets and booklets? Thanks so much…great video!

The set was of four? Sorry, they sold a few weeks ago. Thanks though, Becky!
Thanks 😊@@AvanteAvenue
News flash, by the end of 2024 MOST people will be resellers. Reason? AI will list your stuff FOR YOU.
AI won't be listing our stuff. LOL. Thank you!
I can't wait for AI to package my items! 😏
And refund us to if it arrives damaged! Lol.
