Absolutely stunning❗❗❗ Love the pointy spiral and the split colors of the green dye. It's fascinating how one color dye and the ice could create such magical colors. It really came out so pretty. One of my all time favorites. 🌱🌱🌱
hello boss I hope things are going very well please where can we find the color product. the color you use to work on a knitting piece that's what I'm asking you thank you.
Amazing, as always! This is so cool! I didn’t expect the avocado to get such dark areas. The way it looks like various hues or shades of green is SO awesome. I have never done an ice dye; this really makes me want to try it. I just bought my first Dharma dyes, so that I can do it.
Riah this is a gorgeous shirt. I love green and you don't usually use it much. I absolutely want one of these shirts. I love it. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you so much! Actually my favorite color is green lol. I’m surprised you don’t think I use it often because I always find a reason to use lime pop lol. ☺️💚
@@RiahsTieDye I never thought it would be that rich! I may try a similar shirt with Jade which I’ve already got and see how it does. Avocado will be in my next order 🤓
The shirt is Beautiful! I’m still hoping some day, maybe after you’re done with the book, you will teach a seminar in a large venue for all of us that are so in aw of your many talents. You would have no problem selling out. I hope your book is going well and look forward to you getting it out there and hopefully in print! Take care and be safe.
When I saw you use only one color, I thought it would be a plain looking shirt. Noting could be further from the truth! The shapes made by the interaction of the folds and colors- AMAZING!
It's hard to believe that this just uses the one dye. The way the ice defused the green dye is really interesting. Have you used this method with other colours? Do they defuse in the same way? Green is my favourite colour, so this "speaks" to me. Another beauty Riah!
Yes I’ve done Magenta Galactica and Raven I believe…some have really awesome splits and some don’t split very much but you never really know until you do one of these spirals ☺️ Thanks! ☺️💚
I use fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading Company and soda ash ☺️ you can find a lot of the stuff I use in the description box of all of my videos ☺️💚
I can't tell by the video, where do you put the tag/neck of the tshirt? I'm sure it needs to be properly centered or the spiral will be off? This is a stunning shirt!
This is so beautiful. When you put the dye down was the tag of the shirt at the top of the spiral? I have this green and have never used it but I plan to now that I see how amazing it is. Thanks for sharing.🥑🥑
Thank you so much! You’ll want to rinse with cold water first, gradually move to warm/hot and once the dye runs clear I soak mine in hot water and dawn dish soap for 30 minutes…drain, rinse and repeat until the water is clear and then wash ☺️💚
@@RiahsTieDye Thank you! I also watched your Geode dye video afterward and absolutely loved the colors, I sent both videos to my son and said we must do these and he said definitely!! 😄🤗💗🕊️🌷
Hello! I have commented telling you how thankful I am for finding your videos but, again, thank you so, so much for posting all of these. I love them. I have what is maybe an obvious question? Are your ice dyes done at like "room temp", like controlled environment or could it be very hot or very cold? If overly hot, just use more ice? Once I start trying it may be in a "she shed" that would not be temp controlled.
Thank you so much and you’re very welcome. So I do mine right in my home which is usually right around 70 degrees give or take a few degrees. I put them in a tote on a rack with the lid on and let them sit for 24 hours and that’s it. I know some dyers leave the totes in the Sun so the ice can melt faster . Really all you need is to let not let them dry out with direct exposure to heat or cold and they’ll be fine. I would definitely use the tote with a rack to set them on so the liquid can drip through in the tote and keep the lid on it to prevent direct expose and you should be just fine in the she-shed. I hope this helps😊💜
@@RiahsTieDye Thank you! I appreciate you responding, it helps very much. Have a beautiful day! I need to download kindle but will be getting your e-book soon ☺
TWO Questions -- 1) you said on the screen that you prewashed in soda ash BUT do you pre-wash shirts in Synthrapol? I was looking to buy some and Dharma mentions prewashing in it as well as after wash. AND 2) how do you make that ring around the shirt to hold the ice? Would love to hear your answers. THANKS!!!
@@RiahsTieDye Muchos gracias!! I understand them saying to use it before dyeing so they can sell more 🤣🤣🤣 Good to know it's not needed until only after. I'm getting close to finally trying my first ever do it myself tie dyes!
One color? Fold easy? Dye on only half the shirt? This should be my first one, seems super simple. This should work with any one color, right? Avocado lets the brown out. Maybe 2 colors on one side? Lots of experiments to do! Thanks, Riah for your support.
You’re very welcome and thank you! So avocado splits colors when ice dyed or hwi dyed and not all colors do that. Majority of the darker colors do but if you do it with yellow for instance there will be no splits. Hope this helps😊💚
I am so in love with how "wispy" this looks with the Ice Dye! I think I'd poop in my panties if you did this with avocado on one side and a teal on the the other side!
I love avocado. It's such a beautiful green. Gorgeous shirt, Riah, always a winner:) Thanks for sharing:)
Yeah definitely turned out much cooler than I thought ☺️💚 Thank you!
I just used some avocado in a shirt I made a couple days ago. Cool coincidence
